If you got 10 people all equally intelligent, equally hard working and the same in every single way, only a select few would do well for themselves while the rest wouldn't.

So to pretend this has nothing to do with government isn't exactly right. There's a middle ground here, even if the rioters are just thugs

Agree with you completely .

Would you however disagree that there is a growing feeling of resentment in the UK to the way this whole fiasco (Great British Bank Robbery as I call it) has been allowed to run it's course? If we cut all social services (primarily used by the poor) to fund the bail out of the rich guys, doesn't that sound a little like a UK before magna carta; with the govt playing the role of king and the rest of the population who don't have a position 'at court' being treated like serfs? Excuse the medieval comparison, but I think it works.

1559: LBC Radio is reporting that rioters are due to target Enfield and Southgate tonight. Last night saw a fake bomb scare in Southgate with 100 Territorial Support Group deployed into the area – perhaps tonight is the night the riots reach them? Hopefully not.

Apparantly Lewisham High Street's closed off and they're trying to head up to Catford town centre.

Are you serious ? Have you ever talked to people of this mentality from this socio-economic group and age range ?

They have practically no interest in politics, no understanding of economics, and when they are old enough to vote, they rarely exercise their right.

They have little interest or knowledge about anything outside the immediate vicinity of their city.

Their interests revolve around little more than materialistic and hedonistic pursuits, which would be excusable considering their age, but unfortunately they have no concern if these pursuits come at the expense of anyone else.

The only reason they would be angry about the cuts is because they think it's going to be an end to their freebies from the state. They aren't concerned about not being employed in the future, because they are unemployable and are too selfish and bone idle to do a decent day's work, anyway.

The rioting and looting has nothing to do with a political or social statement, other than ''give me more stuff for free'.

People need to stop projecting, and vicariously enjoying this wanton violence because of their own shortcomings in society.

I agree.... the state of the World is not really looking great!!!

It costs a lot to live these days and things still keep going up!!

Benefits cuts isn't helping matters....

This shooting was just the trigger that all these looters needed as they were already at boiling point!!

Anyway, i think it will continue for a few days.... probably spread across the Country... I can see it going off in places like Bristol, manchester, Liverpool, Bradford....

It's no more rotten than its always has been. Where there's power, those seeking it will follow.

Most people blame the banks, nothing has been done about it yet. People are hurting through no fault of their own.

However, trashing high streets, burning cars, shops, people's homes and throwing rocks at the Police isn't going to solve anything. It only makes you as selfish and wrong as those who you are protesting about.

Who in their right mind would invest in them areas now? I wouldn't.

As you can see, I am from the UK. Our Mascot is the British Bull Dog. We may only be a small country, but our Government seem to have forgotten that if you kick the Dog, you are going to get a nasty bite.

Looks like they have been pushed back to a housing estate....this is when people start getting shot i recon.

There is absolutely no need for what is happening. If these beings had a point to make, who is going to listen to them now? It is not about anything other than disrespect and the thoughts that the world owes them a favour.

Society is breaking down and this sort of behaviour is a result of it. How can any decent human being participate in this?

I am not having any of the excuses that are being thrown into the mix, there is no excuse for what they are doing. If you feel you have been dealt a bad hand...YOU are the only one who can CHANGE that. There are many people who have came from nothing and made a decent life for themselves.

Total disrespect for a crumbling Country, no pride in Britain. I would not even label these beings with thug, anarchists.....they are scroungers who take what they want and to hell with the consequences; nobody is pointing this out...their actions are being glorified with these labels, that are only worthy amongst them!!!
