Let me get this straight:

He had a gun, and ran from the officers and shot at them because he didn't want to pay a 2$ bus fine?

Or is it more likely he didn't fire at them, he just ran, because it was a 2$ bus fine?

You decide.

If you are going to try to get it right, then maybe you should look at all the info instead of jsut want you want to see.

The kid was armed.
Shell casing were found
video shows a 3rd party picking the gun up and leaving with it.

The kid was out on PnP - Not paying a 2dollar fare is in fact, theft and a violation of PnP. Being on PnP you are not allowed to have a firearm, as this kid did.

He was wanted for questioniong in the death of a mother and unborn child, in addition to the shooting of 3 others in Seattle.

Please do some research before continuging a failed argument 15 pages in.

Why Not ??? I carry everywhere, except where it is illegal. I do have a concealed carry license, but in CA you cant get one.

Why can't you get one? I live in Cali and i have one? Its on a per county basis. Some areas are more apt to give them out than others but to say you cant get one in all of Cali is pretty generalized. California is also an Open-Unloaded Carry State although you have to educate a new officer every now and then.

No argument from me over failing to provide emergency medical assistance- even stuffing a rag into the wound or covering up the lung shot with an occlusive bandage like a latex glove.

No matter what the suspect did prior he deserved every chance to live through the incident. I've run across people I desperately wanted to kill in my police and DoD career. I didn't though. I wanted on many occasions to watch someone bleed out after being shot. I didn't though. I still have faith in my peers that they will handle things through trial by jury whether those peers are American or Iraqi.

Or is it more likely that he ran and shot at the police due to multiple warrants out for his arrest for a quadruple shooting that led to the death of a teenage girl and her unborn child and that he violated his parole for rape by being in another state and he wasn't man enough to answer for his actions?

You decide.

What good is an unloaded firearm and why carry it? Without cartridges the firearm becomes an awkward, ineffective impact weapon. You'd be better off carrying an ASP or a blade

Cool!

Does that mean we can shoot at you and you'd expect the police not to do anything other than use soft words to get us to stop?

Please remove your head from your 4th point of contact. If you shoot at someone they shoot back if they are able to.

You DO realize that this is the same San Francisco Bay Area where both Firemen, Police AND Coast Guard recently stood by and WATCHED a man drown because no one knew who had jurisdiction...

I would LOVE it, if rather than screaming from the outside in, those that would condemn the community, like I used to until I moved in... would spend some TIME there. FOR ONE... the kid ALLEGEDLY was from Seattle so he is NOT from Bay View. For another, I had just been AT THAT SPOT a couple hours earlier and there was a QUITE PUBLIC CHURCH SERVICE going on IN THAT PLAZA. But I bet my last AIDS INFECTED T-CELL that NO ONE will report that little tid bit. ALL anyone wants to do is cast blame. Know no facts and feel better about themselves so they can go back to their play stations, x box's or iPads.

Now, this wasnt a swipe at you. please no. It's just that their is so much vitriol going on from the outside.

People bringing in race, heck even species into the argument.

Well, I am not black. NOR am I Mexican. I am a very light skinned Puerto Rican (NATIVE, TAX PAYING AMERICAN CITIZEN WITH NOT ONE BUT TWO COLLEGE DEGREES) and my land lord is about as white as an onion. we live here. We know our neighbors and they are great! In the time I have lived here, almost all of the trouble has come from youths, not just black, but also Latino, Samoa, Asian etc... but almost all of them YOUTHS, coming from elsewhere because they THINK, the Bay View is where they prove their manhood.

Alas, this CHILD will never know his.

And this will not be the last time.

So that justifies standing by and letting the kid bleed out? The Officers at the time didn't know all of this, all they knew was a teen didn't pay a two dollar bus fare. What they DID know while he was on the ground is that he was down, bleeding, required medical assistance and was unarmed and/or no longer a threat > His hands were in plain sight to all as he was on the ground + There were enough Officers on scene to secure him + Given the incident the pursuing Officers probably saw him toss his weapon while chasing him. A known fact: The vast majority of people shot by Police are compliant as this teen was demonstrating by his behavior.

I could also tell he was having trouble breathing due to his arching of his back thereby shifting the collecting fluid in his lungs and or abdominal cavity.

I did not feel bad when the LA bank robber died behind the car after that shootout either. Call me cruel.

I'll call you a cop-loving piece of #. The pigs apparently shot an unarmed boy fleeing the scene for not having a transit ticket and let him bleed to death in front of his community. Planted a shell case and later "found" a gun. If I was that boy's father, I'd be getting payback.

Now I'm reading they're calling him a prime suspect in a murder case -- Use your brains: the pigs were not aware of this info when they shot him and let him die. The gun they planted was most likely found at the other crime scene and now the keystone coppers are attempting to kill two birds with one stone by making this boy look guilty simultaneously "solving" the other case.

I HOPE I BURN IN HELL WITH HIM SO THAT WE CAN BE WAITING FOR YOU WITH OPEN ARMS WHEN YOU TOO ARE CAST IN THE ETERNAL LAKE OF FIRE FOR JUDGING - ESPECIALLY WITHOUT KNOWING ALL THE FACTS.

YOU POS PEOPLE THAT WANT TO CONVICT SOMEONE WITHOUT A TRIAL ARE NO EFFING BETTER THAN THE SCUMBAGS OF THE MIDDLE EAST THAT HATE AMERICA AND EVERYTHING ABOUT IT!

He was likely bleeding out internally. He was conscious and moving, raising his head, etc., then he quieted from loss of blood, probably. At that point an officer approached him. He probably still had a pulse and was possibly still conscious, but would have gone unconscious. The officer would have been checking for breathing and pulse and responsiveness.

He wouldn't have started CPR until the heart stopped beating.

Note that while there was some blood on the ground it was not copious as from arterial bleeding that could have been staunched.

Undoubtely he was bleeding internally and even CPR if it had been initiated would not have helped, although, from my own very minimal training, one is advised to initiate CPR, even in a case of internal bleeding.

Just because the cops were not hovered over him, does not mean that they weren't watching the signs.

1. Fountains of blood were not seen and blood appeared to be coming from the chest cavity.

2. He was moving, breathing and conscious.

3. There was an angry, unsafe crowd confronting the police.

No EMT person is going to turn their back on the crowd in that situation.

When he quieted, the police officer approached to assess the situation.

Sirens are heard in the backround. Probably the ambulance coming.

When the man quieted, the police officer approached to take a closer look and probably check for pulse and breathing.

If the man had not been breathing or had no pulse, one would initiate CPR, if it was safe to do so.

That's my take on it as a security person with a very small amount of training.

It's still a tragedy. Typical of our times.

If I was a cop and someone shot at me, I'd shoot him regardless of if he was still shooting or not. So if he took a shot and then ran, I'd definitely shoot him in the back until he went down.

I've had a gun pointed at me during a robbery and honestly, I don't know how cops can still think when that happens. I couldn't think straight for 5 minutes after I was so hopped up on adrenaline.

If this guy took a shot and he was such a bad guy, it sounds like it's a good thing he's off the streets.

If I was running and a some guy playing cop was shooting at me, I would shoot back. My right to life.

Thank you and very well said. It WAS his choice to run and he probably paid for it. AND he had a history. My quarrel here is that everyone is saying "THIS HAPPENED" or "THAT HAPPENED" Unless they were there, People should STFU and pray that the facts come out. THEN AND ONLY THEN, can we make an INFORMED JUDGEMENT and not a knee jerk mob reaction.

The joke is that you think what you see in movies and TV is real life. The real world isn't a rerun of Miami Vice where Tubbs shoots a gun out somone's hand at a dead run at 100 meters or you can punch a round through someones thigh without cutting the femoral artery or shoot someone in the shoulder and not cut the brachial plexus.

The joke is that you think the officers could have performed surgery on the street corner. Police officers do not carry med kits on their person.

Thinking otherwise is a joke.
