This may be spun a different way, but at least one interpretation from this news story is that California is so desperately broke that the police state no longer has any morals or decency. When these planned implosions happen, the police state will justify any sort of killing because a 'fine' was not paid.

How are you a threat to an officer as you're running away?

The person shot was a wanted suspect in the random killing of a 19 year old pregnant women in Seattle, WA. Read today's issue of the Seattle Times for the story and you'll see why he was shooting at police even though they were citing him for transit. Perception versus reality and facts versus perception. This is my first post hello ATS.

Good first post. Welcome. Maybe I avoided the video and misunderstood the circumstances of this shooting. In ignorance I jumped to a wrong conclusion in this case. I admitted that but I am not going to keep apologizing over and over about it though. Once is enough and I think I did somewhere back a few posts if not...well I hope they can get over it. I'll save all this vitriol for next time they shoot an INNOCENT civilian. May as well keep my hand over the send button. lol Just kidding. That never happens.

This is slightly off topic but I'd just like to say how grateful I am that the 'hottest topic' is actually a topic that deserves to be in that position.

Now I'm reading they're calling him a prime suspect in a murder case -- Use your brains: the pigs were not aware of this info when they shot him and let him die. The gun they planted was most likely found at the other crime scene and now the keystone coppers are attempting to kill two birds with one stone by making this boy look guilty simultaneously "solving" the other case.

Yeah- the cops from another state somehow magically appeared at the same time the perp was shot, beamed in invisibly, planted the gun on video, beamed over a block to toss a shell casing, then beamed back home via the USS Enterprise NCC-1701G

Logic fail.

Please remember it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

By cranking round out of your illegally possessed and carried handgun.

Hope that answers your question.

The title of this thread is misleading and designed to inflame emotions before the topic is even read. This criminal was NOT killed because of a $2 bus fare! He was shot for shooting at officers. Geez...

Because of the viral nature of these videos, I'm hoping that the "bad guys" will get the message and understand that there will be no compassion for them from the law or citizens if they're caught, shot, etc. after comitting a crime.

Something similar happened in a Michigan town back in 2008. The overall crime rate plummeted immediately afterward and has remained low ever since.

"He got what he deserves". "Scumbag". Blada blada blada.
I bet those who say this attend church on Sunday also.

I'd love to see what these types say if that were their son lying there on the ground. Fate has a strange way of hitting home folks.

Gun on one side, ammo on the other. Look into it before making an idiotic statement like that. No one would carry an unloaded weapon just to do it.

This thread has a lot of stupid people in it who assume way too much conspiracy is going on. I live in the San Francisco Area and heard first hand accounts from a buddy who was ACTUALLY at the scene. He works for Green Peace as one of those people who stand on the corner and talk to people about environmental issues and he happened to be stationed at that area. He didn't physically see it go down, but he told me FIRST HAND that he did hear a gun shot, followed by silence, then followed by more gunshot. This is direct evidence that the guy WAS armed, and DID fire first, with the cops firing back in response. My buddy talked to eye witnesses and was told that the kid fired a random shot backwards towards the police, but it went into the general public. I think that justifies the cops' actions to take him out instead of innocent people getting shot from that moron.

NO, the cops did not plant a gun. NO, the cops did not plant the bullet found. NO, this is not another conspiracy that ATS is going to blow out of proportion. Now I officially see how conspiracies grow. People who were not there decide to read a story their way and fill in the blanks with whatever the feel like.

I don't get the "he deserved to be shot in the street for killing the girl" trend here.

Yes the suspect was a convicted rapist. Yes he was out on parole. Yes he was violating a metric ton of laws by carrying a firearm while on parole. He was in violation of his parole by being in another state. Yes he was a suspect in the murder of a teenage girl and her unborn child. Yes he was the suspect in the shootings of three other people. Yes he has numerous warrants from murder to weapons possession to assault out on him.

That matters about as much as the flying velocity of an unladen swallow (European).

What matters is he shot at the police on a crowded street in the middle of the day and in doing so lost his life.

I have no sympathy for him and I do think the world will be better for his absence in it. I feel for the victim of his rape and the young mother but that does not justify vigilante action.

I was pissed over OJ and pissed over Casey Anthony but our legal system says it is better to let a thousand guilty parties go free than convict one innocent and I agree with that.

I carry wheelguns- even with a speed loader if you have a weapon pointed at me I'm as good as gone if I go to break leather. Heck my kid could squeeze off a round center of mass before I clear the holster

I was also making a joke in regards to the laws there and not making a personal attack. I see it as being better to have your weapon ready to fire but understand Californians labor under some nonsensical firearms regulations.

If it was my son doing what this individual was doing- raping, shooting at people, killing teenage girls...

I'd let the state bury him in Potter's Field because he'd have been dead to me the moment he raped someone.

My son was raised to respect life and if he raped, shot and killed another human then he would get what he deserves. I love how your kind likes to toss around out the old " goes to church on Sunday and does this or that thing..." I don't have to go to church to know that God works in mysterious ways. Let the cops dole out justice in this case so a slime ball lawyer won't get him off on a technicality.

Piggies, at their finest. The biggest GANG in the US. Like I always say. Nothing will happen to them. Well, except, Paid leave and TONS of high fives and pats on the back from their fellow gang members. I'm sure, their children and wives are so proud of their great achievement. Drinks are on the house and free dinner for the whole department.

Please, don't take my post as sarcasm. Because that isn't my intent. Wait a few days and there will be other Gang killings. As this is their MO. Who says you cant get away with murder? These pigs do it daily. What goes around, Comes around. Citizens BEWARE. There's a bullet with your name on it.

I see about a hundred people gathering around the police and their victim, I hear raised voices and a lot of outrage, I see a missed opportunity.
They aren't going to stop until we make it clear we won't tolerate it. Period.

It is too bad you don't have the same passion towards convicted rapists and parole violators who crank rounds off on public streets to avoid warrants issued for the killing of pregnant teenage girls.

That sort of behavior you'll gladly tolerate though...

If he was raised right then he wouldn't be committing crime then. And you damn well know that.
My "kind"? Is the same as your kind. If I saw you lying there I'd render aid....Regardless of your past or what you have done. Your kind had better hope like hell that should you become the victim of mistaken identity at the hands of law enforcement and YOU get shot, that someone like me responds. Otherwise, you ain't gonna make it. Just like the teen in the video!

I truly believe the title is VERY WRONG. The part with the 2 dollar ticket. But then again I can't believe that its on YouTube, its very graphic. And the cops should have been much more careful with him, as in make sure he doesn't die... And someone posted the coordinates of the place this happened, and I checked them out on Google Earth, and it's very very accurate.

but the cops are not there to judge cases and dole out justice, that is what the courts are for.
if you want to live in a society where the police decide what your punishment should be fine, but that is not the one you are suppose to be living in currently.

the cops may of rightfully returned fire, but saying it is right to let him die or kill him in revenge for what he did is wrong. that is not the police job, they are not assassins, or at least they should not be.

the guy died due to self defense from what i can tell, although the cops should of done more to save him so he could stand before a judge to recieve justice from those who are qualified and who are meant to give it.

Oh my...

First and foremost if this guy shot at the cops, then-well.
To sit there and watch him bleed out while 5 cops watched with their guns up high. They will never live it down, every night before bed they will think about how they didn't even try to help the guy over $2.00. They watched him bleed to death without saying a word... wtf?

I sat there staring at the screen without breathing as if I could now see that the strange physical phenomenon that has been happening with our solar system, and the strange effects on the sun are changing us-I now realize we are doomed. People are acting crazy these days...(still in awe) Earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, people, dead animals. This reminds me of what Carl Sagan said in his book "Billions and Billions" after examining his terrarium. He notices that animals and bacteria usually hit a point of instability once multiplying exponentially.
