Thanks for the cheering on,ha ha!The local breastfeeding club should take a field trip to this office building with their hungry babies!! But seriously I did breastfeed my children and did it discreetly in public,but in this case I don't believe I would have been so careful,my breast would have accidently fallen out and really gave them a reason for raising a stink!.....what is wrong with people it's the most natural thing a mother could do for her child,it's not offensive,sexual or indecent get over it!

I'm breastfeeding my 3 month old right now and I'm extremely uncomfortable doing it in public, I usually end up going out to the car or something to have some privacy. I am afraid someones going to say something nasty to me. I applaud all the brave women out there who don't give a crap and do whats best and most natural for their children.

1. She wasn't told she would offend anyone

2. Muslims were not even mentioned

3. She was told she can't breastfeed because it is a "multicultural center".

Thats the thing though Beezer once you check some of the sources for those threads, many are right wing tabloids like the Daily Mail. One of those links is even an anecdotal story with a link that was removed by the tabloid itself, yet managed to go on for over 20 pages.

My point was that this wasn't a "one time" occurance. The validity on one or two or even three of the stories may be suspect, but this is becoming a trend, regardless of where the news comes from. Sadly, the more liberal papers or news outlets won't report this type of story because of political correctness so the only available news source might be papers that have a more conservative angle.

I won't turn this into a "prediction" thread, but I can assure you that another issue will arise, and will be met with the same disdain as this one has.

This has nothing to do with Muslims or Islam. Breastfeeding in public has been socially snarled at in Britain for years. Most establishments will force you to feed in the toilets. Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Jedi or Atheist

Agreed, this natural act is not sexual or indecent nore is it offensive in any way.
As i said at the start of this post, if it wasn't for you mothers and your "breasts", we as the human race would not exist. And it seems that Its only in this so called modern era public breast feeding has become a problem to some.
In our ancient past (and even today,) mothers would share breast feeding duties with the other mothers of their tribe if said mothers were away hunting, ect, ect, or they would help those mothers that couldn't express milk to feed their child, this practice is still being done today.

So feed your beautiful children you beautiful mothers and care not about offending others when you do it.

I'm all for women exposing their breasts in public, regardless if they are nursing or not. Nudity is natural and healthy. Women who want to appear in public without blouse or bra should not denied this privilege by law. We are seeing states in America allow gay people to marry and that shouldn't be against the law to begin with.

I don't know why we allow the government to rule over us like we are elementary school children or people in need of adult supervision. Damn well time adults enjoy being adults, and politicians can fark off.

The topic of the appropriateness of breastfeeding is not limited to the views of Muslims.

It is a live topic amongst people in general - to pin this down on Muslims alone is unfair.

I believe the correct decision was made in the end - sanity prevailed. It's a pity the conclusions drawn in this thread aren't of the same ilk.

I already addressed muslim women breast feeding earlier in the thread too. It would help to read the attached article, and then read the responses before you put your cocky cap on. lol

Also, there have been at least 1 gentleman and 1 lady who've said they're uncomfortable with it in public. So how then is it a "muslim problem"?

The only "muslim problem" I see is the one that you, the OP and a couple of others have WITH muslims.

That is the entire point. It isn't a "one time" occurrence, yes, it is a NO TIME occurrence (or fairly insignificant number of occurrences in the general theme of things).

The very point that arises from how many of these stories turn out to be false or overblown is that the trend isn't in "muslims trying to impose shariah on us", rather it is that one segment of politics (and the media it controls) WANT US TO THINK THEY DO.

Exactly the sort of parent who'd raise a stink about someone breastfeeding in public, not that there was any justification for it, or that any blame should be placed on any particular segment of the population, or anyone except the receptionist who initially refused the woman permission to breastfeed somewhere.

It would be as if some official in Turkey (using a random example that showed up in this thread), said that "We should stop using the + sign in our schools to represent addition, as it may offend the Christians, we should instead use ∷", and then some extremist newspaper claimed that the Christian population in Turkey was to blame, and that they should stop trying to sneakily spread their christiandom.

The fact that there is a law, that allows mothers to breast feed their children in the UK, shows that the reception was in the wrong. Either it is a mutil cultural center or not, or wither its a Pool area. The Law gives mothers permission to do so. But as was said in the o/p it was sorted out so No biggie.

Muslims need to stop hiding their women. Whts the matter? Afraid a real man might get attracted to them and snatch them up from you? Muslims are pathetic (the kind that require woman to hide). Get a grip folks, just because you hide them doesnt mean they like you
