YES if they offered to defer my student loans (which are federal) until such time as I stop "donating" those few dollars or when my part is paid up, then yes I would be glad to help out. Other than that I probably wouldn't be able to because of the student loans, so I'll be scraping as it is, but if I ever come out ahead I surely would donate a few bucks a week to help out.

It is clownish for the House to suggest the citizens pay back a phony debt to a bogus corporation in an effort to enrich an already fiendishly evil and pornographically wealthy elite class that feeds like vampires on the lifeblood of the working man.

Very eloquently said, indeed.

A well worded statement is worth a 2nd line and a star.

some of the comments in the thread upset me.

it is a known fact that over 75 million americans pay no tax whatsoever

it is also a know fact that a small percentage of americans foot the bill for just about everything in this country

and the solution is to take more from them?

forget the government stop spending
forget people start paying taxes instead of getting tax refunds when they have no tax liability

forget common sense.

more nonsense comments is defund all the wars ok fine you will be spending the same amount in entitlements.

instead of the 2 trillion already being spent on social security and medicare and medicaid you will be spending 5 trillion or more.

since i neither created the problem and the fix falls on deaf ears i will not be paying one cent.

And therein lies the solution. I am with you, and when others wake up that this is the solution and write this off as a fraudulent debt and dont pay either, we can begin the recovery

The working stiffs are tapped out. They need to do an audit of their own books and start getting refunds for all those overcharges from all their contractors (Boeing was mentioned recently)

Watch, it will become "un-American" to not help pay the debt.

I would be for it in my own country, if we get briefed on goverment spending a bit more and of course the central bank is audited. We pay all those taxes to central banks, not just Americans, what the hell do they do with the profits?

I wonder if the next step will be to make each cititzen directly responsible for "his share" of the national debt. Did that ever happen in any country?

Giving the Government more money in the hopes they will restrain themselves is like giving an addict more of whatever he is addicted to.

'Starve' the spending beast, don't feed it.

Here is a thought - Think of the rolling black / brown out and apply this idea to gov payroll - This sounds fair especially if they are considering dumping SS UI ect.

One week IRS will not get there checks, the next week Homeland Security will not get there checks, and the other the USPS ect.

That should save them a bit.
