I voted for Obama in 2008. After the criminal acts of the previous dictator, I saw in Obama a real chance to change our policy of warmongering, loosen up the reins on our freedoms, and help America prosper again. I'm still waiting.

But there are those on ATS that seem to still have some hope for a bit of that Change We Can Believe In™, and I, and I'm sure many, here on ATS would like to hear some cogent arguments for him to be reelected.

Please keep it nice and respectful because I think we have a chance here to see an honest, thought provoking thread that doesn't have to degenerate into name-calling

Do you mean there is an actual reason that someone would vote for him? I can give ATS maybe a few 100 why I wouldn't vote for him...I keep this nice, for you, but it was real, real hard .....

I've seen some of your rants, and you are quite displaying an inhuman-like willpower in keeping it civil
. Thank you!

I had very high hopes for the guy.
After seeing how it turned out I wonder if he is a shill or if he really did get caught in a situation with his pants down not knowing what he was facing and who was pulling the strings.
If I voted for him now...it would be because i am dumb.
Seeing him handle the BP spill and the bailouts...I think he is being handled.

I am a Canadian so i didn't vote for him nor will I get the chance.

You get what you ask for and get what you paid for.

Wow. Well hopefully some supporters will get on here and tell us what we don't know. Or perhaps tell us something different than we think we know about him. I would like to see some "yays", but I'm afraid there will be an overwhelming number of "nays" here.

That squirrel is adorable!

I'm glad to hear from our northern friends here. America's leaders have more of an impact on you than the other way around, so it's quite fair to hear from you on this, as well. Thanks!

I would only vote Ron Paul over Obama, so if he isn't the republican nominee then Obama is getting my vote again. No other candidate has any potential or policy I am interested in.

I would vote for Obama conditionally of course...

If he were to swear to put a revolver in his mouth promptly after his election...and the obvious...pull the trigger! Being the rat he is, I'm sure he would swear to this and then double-cross and laugh in my face.

That's a bit outside the civility that I was hoping for
, but thanks for the reply.

I honestly did rack my brain for a good reason, a convincing reason, that I would vote for Obama and that was the only one I could pull out of my head. Civilities considered, I would not ask Obama to do this publicly and would not persist in photo's for the American people. Those are my non-negotiable terms for voting for his re-election.

Same here. If Ron Paul doesn't get the GOP ticket, I don't see a better option. In fact, even if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, I might still vote for him just out of principle. As far as everybody saying he hasn't done anything, here's a little reminder.

What the heck has Obama done so far?

Really, though... I loved 2008 Obama. 2011 Obama is a sad shell of his former self.

My dream line-up would be for Ron Paul as POTUS, Kucinich as VP, and Obama as my Governor. Then I could live in my socialist dreamland and you guys can live out your wild west fantasies. Win-win!

he killed UBL with his bare hands !!!!!

probably because the republican field is so weak. it's so awful, trump was considered a favorite for the nomination for a week.

the only guy with a chance is 2008 obama (apologies to daily show)

Graet thread!

This gives me hope in my fellow Americans to make the right decision.
Except for those that would vote for Obama unless RP is running simply "out of principle"? you mean because he has a "D" in front of his name?

I think Bush said it better. "Fool me once, shame on... shame on you. Fool me... you can't get fooled again."

Is this a confession

Hope
Change - Same "persons" were left in place - not "People", they would not do that to U.S.

I respect your choice, however bad it was or was not

Change = Love

Change + "People" - TPTB = Utopia

There is your Christmas Present

Love - ALL of YOU
