The biggest problem, hell the root of the majority of the problems, in America right now is the prevalence of religious fundamentalism and religious influence in politics. Cut out that tumor and America will become truly the best place to live in the world once again instead of nations like Sweden.

Too many Americans hate nations controlled by religious fundamentalists like Iran and Saudi Arabia, yet they have no idea how hypocritical they are.

The United States is NOT a Christian nation. It is not a nation of any religion. It wasn't even founded by religious men.

I mean just read what some of our Founding Fathers said:

"This would be the best of all possible worlds if there was no religion in it." -John Adams

"As I understand the Christian religion, it was, and is, a revelation. But how has it happened that millions of fables, tales, legends, have been blended with both Jewish and Christian revelation that have made them the most bloody religion that ever existed?" - John Adams

"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man." - Thomas Jefferson

"Lighthouses are more useful than churches" - Benjamin Franklin

Don't care if Obama isn't a Christian, which I had already suspected early on. I don't like Obama as a politician though...he's two faced and serves lobbyists not the American public which is typical of most politicians these days.
As far as the support of Israel goes...I'm not sure what to think about it. It's a very complicated issue. I don't have to support one side or the other. It would be nice if they truly accepted terms of compromise.
Basing foreign policy on religion is complete non-sense and about as retarded as you can get. The founding fathers left their homeland to escape the opressive Monarchical system, also based on religious premises. Not to mention the first amendment listed under the Bill of Rights is the freedon of religion.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Perhaps mass hypnosis would be more accurate.

I find it not-funny that people support Israel out of some feeling of religion obligation without actually looking into what Israel is actually DOING to the people in their own area Jew and Muslim alike. It's all about power and a perception that they are superior because of some LAND they are on. And also the belief they are superior because they feel they are chosen...what a belief.

Those who feel they are superior because of their religion....should be removed from the gene pool because they are holding back our evolution as a species.

So...you would rather live in a nation that will be punished by God for turning it's back on Israel?

Lmao this made me laugh

The Christian GOD is. by very definition, 'extraterrestrial.' Angels, demons, even Jesus himself is partially 'not of this earth.' Just because you've seen hundreds of religious icons showing these 'aliens' as humans, doesn't mean that that's what they look like. Perhaps his avatar is a true depiction of the Archangel Michael. You don't know.

Bottom line: Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not judge. Ringing any bells?

Your right, God will punish the USA for what our dumb president said today IF he follows through with his plan. Look out for another Katrina, massive floods or other natural disasters. Oh wait, check out Mississippi right now.

This is the first time in history that I found someone in this country that should be stripped of their vboting rights. You ONLY vote if the person standing up there is Christian? That's completely disgusting, and NOT what this country is about. How bout next time you listen to the platforms/ideas and make a decision based on THAT?

I'm really rather shocked that the US isn't helping Israel, though. Terrorist nations tend to help eachother out.

Israel is not a political issue, it's a Bible issue.

America must support Israel because Joel 3:2 and Obadiah 1:15 make it very clear that any nation (including America!!!) that tries to divide the land of Israel (including Jerusalem!!!) will experience the judgement of God.

The day America turns its back on Israel is the day God turns his back on America.

That day was today.

Israel was born 3500 years ago, not right after WWII. Genesis 13:14-15, and 17:7-8

If our President was a Christian like he told us...He would understand this. Obviously he doesn't.

So because of your beliefs you are saying that every nation should shape foreign and domestic policy according to the needs of Israel or else your sky pilot will obliterate us. As to being born in that place and at any particular time a constant point that I tend to put across when dealing with this is the fact that Abraham the Jewish Patriarch was born in Ur much further east than the present land of Israel so a case can be made for the original state being the result of conquest rather than birthright. Just a point for you.
Not much help with modern politics.
Also you are quoting from Genesis a book that includes people being formed in the first instances from mud then his partner being formed from his rib, talking snakes and a rowing boat with two of every species on Earth upon it.
Not really a valid nor desirable document to base necessary international settlements of issues effecting the international community as a whole.
This brings us back to belief as a basis for negotiation which is of course contrary to the Declaration of Human rights supported by the U.N.
Also your signature says resist, and I can't help but question this. Just what the hell are you resisting? Science and the U.N.'s Declaration of Human rights it would seem. That includes freedom of conscience by the way.

You are correct as far as it not mattering what nation one belongs to. Romans, Greeks, Ethiopians...ect did not need to become part of the Jewish nation or have any Jewish ancestry to become approved by God. This was a change from previous teaching found in the Torah. Those that were Foreign residents in Israel or Judah had to obey the Mosaic law with it's hundreds of laws and statutes. This requirement was negated after Christ came.

Why did it change? Because there was now a New Covenant that replaced the old one. The old one applied only to the offspring of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and by extension, those that became Jewish proselytes .

For more than 1,500 years prior to Jesus’ coming as the promised Messiah, the fleshly nation of Israel was a special, chosen nation. Despite constant reminders, the nation as a whole proved unfaithful. When Jesus appeared, the nation rejected him. (John 1:11) Thus, Jesus told the Jewish religious leaders: “The kingdom of God will be taken from you and be given to a nation producing its fruits.” (Matthew 21:43)

This is a Symbolic or Spiritual nation, called in Galatians 6:16 as the "Israel of God" It is not contained in the borders of the secular Republic of Israel, nor is it contained in the borders of any one particular nation.

Most Christians are not "Christian."

A true Christian wouldn't gleefully condemn anyone for a percieved variance with a percieved doctrine, or condemn for anything. That one point is why Christ's core teaching is so cool, and so ignored.

So keep believing you're on the winning team and root against the opposition and missing the point.

But don't listen to me. I'm not even on a team, I'm just tailgating.

Franklin had an affinity for the old Greco-Roman gods. Based on Jefferson's taste in Neo-Palladian architecture and classical ideas, he may have had one too.

One of our very first gold coins, the Libertas Americana, designed by Franklin, is adorned with Minerva/Pallas Athena. She was one and the same as our "Liberty".

Her statue stands before West Point. She decorates the Medal of Honor. She stands atop the US Capitol and guards the harbor of New York.

Inside the US Capitol dome is a fresco, painted at the end of the US Civil War, showing the Roman gods leading America on its Manifest Destiny.

One would almost think that the US is a Neo-Roman republic, one founded on the principles of Minerva and Pallas Athena.
