I cruise that site sometimes and am guilty of a few posts there myself but the eq was on google when I was searching for something else.

Came across this lunaticoutpost.com... and decided to check it out. They are just as confused. Looks like GLP is on it as well.

Yeah I had done that. The site comes up in English for me.

after all this time you think it would show up here hisz.rsoe.hu... but nothing, so i say no EQ false alarm, could have been a bomb.

Well if something did happen, I would think This would be the place to check it...

Maybe OTAN just bombed Libya's seismic monitoring station.
It is rare that they got such an error.

well no report even on there news www.tripolipost.com... so what ever this was it is not an EQ.

Very, very strange.
OK, no earthquake, but whatever it was must have been strong enough to register an 8.4?
Or the error came out of nowhere.

Well now we have 2 sites reporting an 8+ magnitude,kinda strange tho

Question : if it was a bug,would it appear on 2 different sites ?

I tried to contact the EQ website to get some confirmation but when I submit my comment this comes up...?

An earthquake that large anywhere in the world would rock every seismograph around the world.

This link will show seismographs all around the world and it is a good place to look for large quakes. If somethings big happens, you would see it, just another way to check for quakes.

However, I do see why people are wondering, and I am glad there was no large quake there, as that would probably be the last thing that the people of Libya need right now.
