I feel people should have the right to do anything under the freedom of speach act..

Making it an offence to burn the Qu'ran...LOL Well with the Muslims stop burning US flags and "yes" the bible...?

No they won't, nore will they stop killing innocent people in the name of Allah..

Personalli, I have used a copy of the Qu'ran for toilet paper...

Wonder what the clerics have to say about that...

If your going to participate any any action that is knowingly going to provoke a group of people then I can only say this is wrong!

If somebody was to burn a load of Pink Floyd original vinyl in front of me then I couldn't even estimate my possible response, I wouldn't even go there if I was you. (PF is only one example).

Right or wrong... legal or illegal... one thing is true:

The book burning pastor will now be forced to confront and carry the burden of moral and mental guilt attached to the unforseen consequences of his hate filled actions.

Every man is morally responsible for his own actions. - Isaac Asimov

When America is lily white I will accept that statement.

But when you go marching into foreign countries under the guise of searching for weapons of mass destruction that don't actually exist, when you openly support the nation of Israel that is committing genocide on the Muslim people of Palestine well what do you expect.

Islam is merely a common voice these people have found. The true reason these people rise up against you is because of the evil your nation does just so you can keep driving your stupid oversized SUV's and gas hog V8's.

this is just what the extremist ' Wahhabi ' need to commit more suicide missions . their religion have the age of about 200 years . as you can read in ' the Memoirs Of Mr. Hempher ' you will understand how the British empire was planning to make cracks in Usmani Emporium and take revenge because of crucifiction wars .

just take a look on the book text and you will know.

All you appologists are the ones who are cowards.

Being afraid to offend is allowing the "offendee" to hold you hostage.

I say burn away, a koran a day. Maybe they will all have strokes from high blood pressure and the problem would be solved.

I have just read through a few of these posts. My God (whom i'm unaware if he/she exists or not), I have never seen such a concentration of bigotry in all my life and never wish to see this again. I was on the brink of recommending this site to my oldest lad, but on second thoughts......

I can't believe grown adults are coming up with 90% of the comments that they are on this thread, I'm at absolute dismay with the human race after reading this.

If and when people burn bibles Christians don't go cutting peoples heads off. The muslims need to grow up and maybe people wouold stop burning there koran just to piss them off. It's like shaking an ant farm just to watch the sad little pathetic creatures freak out.

Please people, don't turn this into an anti-Islam thread. The fact is that certain individuals are "pimping" this tragedy, into a justification for the restriction of the peoples right of free expression. This pastory is a religous zealot. He will have to live forever knowing innocent people may have survived if he never carried out or threatened to carry out such actions. But that is no reason for us to live in fear of offending people.

Before this thread advances keep in mind that, while many muslims may have been dissapointed and outraged with the burning of a holy book, many more were outraged with what fellow muslims did to inoccent people. Muslims are not violent people. Afghanistan has a tremendous history, where the West has basically created and sponsored its own assasians. The region is what one can only summarize as a "cluster f***". Please, do not turn this into another anti-Islam thread.

Good old flag burning/Desecration: Is it art? Is it part of the First Amendment. What are the limits of the First Amendment? If you can burn a flag, can you burn a Koran? Can you burn a bible? Why did the Vietnamese Buddhst monks set themselves on fire?

We all love that First Amendment stuff....if it weren't for the Second Amendment, there wouldn't be any amendments.

So, is it art? Is it genuine expression? Does it make someone feel good? Is it good for the country? Has this been going on for decades, but behind the barn and nobody knew about it?

Have you ever burned or desecrated an American flag?

Does the fact that the American flag is likely to have been made in China make it less a serious offense?

This photo was taken at a rally at the state capitol yesterday. The news will not show it and the Capitol Police and Homeland Securitywould not let Americans or any of the Veterans that were there do anything about it.

America, when does a message of hate, ignorance and intolerance become freedom of speech?

It is time that the good people of your nation stood up and said enough is enough. Freedom of speech is nothing but a veil that cowards hide behind to commit terrible acts and get away with it. You gotta have some sort of boundaries.

How much were you paid to post this? You're obviously not an American nor do you care about the God given freedoms that every person, no matter which country, should share on our earth. You sir, along with anyone else that would restrict freedom of speech, regardless of their intentions, are traitors to our species.

This is what happens when everyone has to be politically correct. It goes to this much of an extreme as to restrict what people can and cant say by LAW.

I was not paid a thing to post that, and you are right I am not an American and I thank God for that small mercy every day.

I come from a nation that is just as Westernised, free and modern as you are. In fact our economy has been a bright star while America declines into the abyss.

We actually live with the world's most populous and rather poor Muslim nation right on our doorstep - they outnumber us 5 to 1 in fact. Do we have problems with this sort of thing? No. In fact when we suffer natural disasters they lovingly give us donations. It's never very much money, but the fact that they do shows they care. The same goes their way too, we lent them $250 million in the worst days of the financial crisis to help them through.

Why do we not have trouble? Put simply, we do not tolerate the kind of idiotic behaviour that you people justify under your contistutional right of freedom of speech. If someone does something as hateful as your Pastor did he is universally condemned. Same goes if a person of Islam does it too. Love and tolerance is the dominant message in our country and the same rules apply for everyone.

Burning books = ridiculous
worshiping books= even more ridiculous

Im fine with the book burning as its their right. The ones so offended dont seem to mind burning our flag, bible and president in effigy.. they're morons and I expect that kind of behavior from them. I also expect American morons to engage in the same behaviors. Making a law against burning a book is even more moronic. Everyone is so perpetually offended over everything its ridiculous... people are still allowed to act like idiots you know. No laws needed to curb it. Makes them easier to spot that way.

Personally I find it funny that they burn our flag and dummies with the presidents face on it to enrage us.. FAIL. I am not offended in the least and see it for exactly what it is. I also dont know many who are offended by such childish and primitive behavior.

It was wrong of him to burn the Quran but it was even more wrong for the radical muslims to do what they did. Freedom of speech is a good thing to an extent. Some people use it the wrong way not caring what the repricution will be.

Depends how you look at the world....

Do I give a toss about the pastor? NO
Do I give a toss about religious texts? NO
Do I give a toss about people acting out and killing each other? NO

We are free to say what we want no one can have control over what comes out of our mouths but us. If some people want to curse so be it there choice. If some people want to be racist so be it there choice.

The world has over 6 billion individuals all with there own mind, some not as stable as others. Doesn't take a lot to know that there are bigger things to think and ponder about.

FOCUS ON THE FINGER AND YOU'LL MISS ALL THE "HEAVENLY" GLORY...

The burning of this book cost no lives.

The reaction to this book being burnt cost many.

The thing is, you can say it's because of Islam, you can say it's because of the Quran...... I think it all comes down to education and knowing the good of a religion, rather than the bad.

That being said, a world without religion would be such a better place.

(I don't mean this as an attack against you personally, I am merely attacking your statement.)

Personally, I think you are a coward. If you had the courage, you would go and find this pastor and tell him he is a coward and that he should go to the country question and do his act again. Easier said than done, isn't it?

Religion is clearly a mental disorder, people who worship an invisible force instead of using reason and logic to explain the universe around them are by nature irrational.
The question should not be "is he insighting hatered" but instead "is he abusing the mentally ill".
Would you burn a child with downs syndromes toys?
I disagree with all religion however I also disagree with insighting hatered. These people who kill over the pages of a fairy tale written before man could even explain why day and night occured should be helped and educated, not provoced.
