Is anyone else having trouble with dropped calls on cell phones? I have an iPhone and never get dropped calls in my area. This morning I have had 10+ calls dropped out of the blue. In between a 30 seconds to a minute is when they drop and hang up.

This must be quite a solar storm to be messing with phone service.

the radio at work (brooklyn, ny) has been going in and out all day

The page says:

"Real-time Magnetosphere Simulation

The simulation has been stopped due to power outage."

Interesting. Does anyone know how often such a place as www2.nict.go.jp... loses power?

Wow,,,shocking nothing has happened yet again... I wanna think everyone is on to something by reading geomagnetic trends but then when these events manifest and nothing happens it does not shock me rather lending it's self to random climatic and enviromental changes and less trackable trends...

I find it really odd that Obama is now making a speech that is about our energy sources, the Mayor of LA, and other energy spokes people attending at Georgetown and not to mention the Senate is having a hearing on Nuclear Power Plant Safety as we speak too!

There are other forces at work here, the geomagnetic facet of the equation isnt working in a vacuum. There is myriad factors which could mitigate or even negate certain reactions.
It is wise to be alert yet unmoved by all this. There is a lot of things to factor in.
Plate techtonics is just one more factor.
Perhaps the earthquakes have several circumstances which have to coincide to trigger them?
Gravital influences
Space weather
Earth expansion theory
Even the ubiquitous Global warming,
Not to leave out everyones favourite HAARP

I agree about the only sudden impulse I have seen lately is a few of the bigger purchases I have made recently.

While nothing has happened yet I think it would be foolish to disregard this, while it does not mean that one will happen it is a lot more probable that it could. Especially if the solar speed drops down below 300. you can track that here. Link for Solar Wind Speed and you can check the KP Index here KP Index
This is the first spike i have seen in a while.

The last nict simulation at 11/03/30 at 15:52 UT before the power went out again shows a tight, reversed coil.

We're seeing a lot of mag +6 in the East - check out GlobalIncidentMap.com.

RE: solar flares. It seems to be the low, extremely-low (ELF) and ultra-low (ULF) frequencies that are related to earthquake activity - these frequencies occur 24 hours before and also after flares; also, the earth generates them before quakes (at least).

I just found this video of the real time magnetosphere from March 10 and 11. Im just as new to this as the rest, so don't ask me to explain anything. I thought some of you would be interested to see what this thing was doing the day before and day of the big quake in Japan.

WARNING! If you hate techno music over youtube videos, mute your speakers before playing or kill the sound as soon as it starts.

I agree (no disrespect as well)

I think if you can get outside quickly, it's best to get out.

During the Easter Sunday quake, I remember my base instinct was to run outside!! I was actually in the bathroom when it started..never got my pants up so fast..haha! I ran into the livingroom and scooped up my little boy and ran out through the open sliding glass door, yelling at the rest of my family who was still trying to figure out what was going on! My dog was already outside..he had run out 3 minutes before the quake started. Very surreal..the pool was a mini tidal wave.

YES!

Problems with my phone as well..keeps dropping calls and also dropping texts and taking forever to send and receive them. Spoke to my Mom and her phone is having issues, too and she has a different provider.
My daughter's Halo games have been lagging like crazy..several times she's actually had to back out of a game because it lags so bad.

Wait for it. I don't believe we should just discount this. From what I have read on this thread so far, these trends are clues to and not decisive steps to, an EQ event. This does not mean that we should lower our guard, only that we should keep watching and study the trends further. We may just eventually learn something.

One thing that I have learned from this thread is that no one seems certain, and that very few are 100% ready to discredit the possibility that their is something to this. I say time will tell. Keep you eyes open.

Well I have stated it many times before in other threads so here goes nothing.

Heres to absolutely nothing happening and this just proving to be an epic fail, with life going on uneventful other than the occasional lottery winner, child birth, etc.

I have just let my dog out before going to bed - time 23.15pm on Tues 29th March in Derbyshire UK and heard a very strange noise........... in the distance, towards the south ......... like a collasping rumbling noise which lasted for approx 7 seconds.......... Initially thought thunder but there is nothing else to suggest that........... I do not know what that just was.. weird ..

Regards

PDUK

I'm up in North Derbyshire and felt something like a 'quake' last night, infact I put it out my mind because if it was anything significant I know the UK forums would be buzzing about it. Nothing audiable though, bar the odd plane going into Manchester.
