Neither do I so you're in good company, meaning, we were having this discussion HOURS ago - first getting the word all 5 plants had been shutdown, then, that two were 'problematic' - then later, that they were 'fixed - the back to on was fine, and the other, was not able to keep 'cool'... So yeah, we've been going through this all day.

About 2amCST is when all the reactor talk started. That means that the reactors have been down for more than 9 hours. I wonder just how long these redundant backup systems can run???

Last thing Japan needs at this point, is an atomic disaster. Lets hope they are getting this under control.

The backup systems brokedown after an hour of going "live", that is why there is such worry.

Frustrating yes! Trying to find out information!

I suggest you check RSOE for all updates on world wide earthquakes, disasters, etc. They're not 'real time' but they're close.

I know Greece has been doing 'jumping-jacks' all day and that's not got me feeling any too comfortable, but, I haven't seen anything in Russia.

I would not be surprised if the reactors in question have and already are leaking radiation. I heard that around one area of one of these nuclear reactors in Japan, they were evacuating civilians, so they may just be downplaying it all, but in reality the reactor is leaking radiation. They will not say anything to the news or public about radiation leaking, unless the public had something to prove it. You will hear no one admitting anything. I have another one of my strange feelings about all of this crazy crap in the World.

Our world is so crazy, whether from man, or from nature herself, everything is so off balance.

According to the satellite data, a big bright thermal anomaly over the
volcano continues to registering each day. Ash plumes extending about
142 km (87 mi) to the north-west from the volcano were noted on March 05.

History of Kizimen eruptions is unknown. We have incomplete data about
only one eruption in 1928-1929 which was likely moderate explosive (or
explosive-effusive) events. Tephrachronological data point out several
catastrophic eruptions in evolution of this volcano.

I think thousands may have been caught up on this tsunami earthquake and yet we still could have tsunami's going else where still.
