I imagine a hole in the earths crust and the water pouring through like its going down the plug hole.
If thats the case we might not have to worry about the tides rising!

This reminds me of Haiti, at first people didn't have any idea how deadly it was, but looking at the devastation, one could tell it would be tens of thousands. Haiti ended up having a death toll over 200,000.

well i've been watching al jezeera for a while, and i just heard 26 confirmed casualties. I'm sure this number will go up but i am surprised its not more

Haha, what can I say im a fatty when it comes to Fried goods.

Crisp, Clear, and beautiful night here in Texas too...Wouldnt know anything is wrong by walking outside...I can see and hear people working normally at the local Post Office. I get amped up and worried way to easily, so it will be a little hard for me to sleep in the next 2 hours until sunrise.

Japan says it was downgraded to an 8.8 now, not 8.9. Yet, USGS claim it is a 8.9 still.

They calculated the times waves should hit Hawaii and other places:

Hawaii, Russia and Taiwan threatened by tsunami

Waves are expected to hit Hawaii around 3 a.m. Friday local time.

Here is info about tsunami warnings in California with a nice map for times that the tsunami should hit:

Tsunami warning issued for northern and central California and Oregon; Southern California on watch

Waves could begin arriving in Crescent City, Calif., at 7:23 a.m. and the Bay Area shortly after 8 a.m.

The waves were expected to hit Santa Barbara at 8:17 a.m. and Santa Monica and San Pedro harbors at 8:32 a.m.

According to the weather service “the potential exists for a tsunami 3 feet or less in Southern and Central California."

Tsunamis less than 3 feet would cause damage only at the local harbors, caused by strong currents entering and exiting for several hours.

Very possibly created by two or three waves coming from seperate directions and converging.

This would create this whirlpool.. or a crack has opened and the water is rushing down it or it is a mine/tunnel etc..

Could be any number of things right now.

Proof please. You NEED to post sources on anything to do with the nuclear reactors, that is a large concern of worry for no reason at this time for a lot of people...

Please save yourself some panic and concern, check with Al Jazeera and such about anything to do with the reactors. They'd let you know about danger immediately... there's no hiding something like that. And I've been listening to them and BBC and any other sources... NOTHING new about the reactors except that they are shut down, and known issues with Fukushima.


Anywho that was my last attempt at curbing the panic for now, have a good night. Stay true, stay safe!

Watching CTV News at the moment.
They are reporting that it is an OIL REFINERY that is on fire and burning out of control, NOT the nuclear plant as some are reporting here.

It is a pretty odd date.

If aliens start emerging on the beaches, I'm locking myself in my bathroom.

I had just got back from watching Battle LA, when I found out the horrible news.

In the film, small tsunamis caused by their drop pods, hit the coasts all over the world before the aliens begin an amphibious assault.

The details of the fire have just been on Sky News in the UK and the announcer says that the fire is in the turbine room and nowhere near the radioactive locations.

BBC reported no waves that were expected to hit Taiwan 15 to 30 minutes ago have not. Don't know if that means the waves haven't arrived yet, or if they have dissipated.
