You and Deja Vu are both not too far from me... Are the birds acting a fool where you are? They've been going crazy here since about 1:40 am.

Sun isnt due to rise for almost another 2 hours here, but this glow could be caused from the overcast sky, unless it's about to rain death upon us..

This must be BIG, if NEARLY EVERY PACIFIC coastline is in a state of emergency!!! . Where will they evacuate people? What caused this massive "situation"? I cant picture in my mind the magnitude of this tsunami. Some stations said biggest tsunami in known history.

What would happen if what is supposedly happening at the nuclear plants was right?

It could really mean any number of things depending on circumstances, which is why the concern for them is so great.

I'm almost positive ANYTHING that posed an immediate threat from the nuclear facilities would be announced almost immediately and immediate and huge action taken. That would mean disaster for the world...

I'm no expert on nuclear reactors and such, but they did report the backup generators for cooling reactors #1,#2 at that specific planet mentioned earlier was malfunctioning. They've gone over this information many, many times. As far as I can tell that only poses a threat if they want it to continue running. If they've stopped all operation at the plants, the lack of cooling won't make it explode or fallout.

It could be anything from a leak in the reactor leaking radiation and nasty stuff into the environment, or an explosion. That is the #1 risk in a natural disaster like this, and their main priority in confirming threats.

I've been staying up to date with the multiple feeds, hearing NO conclusive information except for them informing us about the backup generators for the one plant, which has already been managed in line with the others by disabling them immediately. There are official reports ALL 5 nuclear reactors have been shut down, no further concern about them at this time.

The operator of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant reported an abnormality Friday following a powerful earthquake which hit a wide area in northeastern Japan including Fukushima Prefecture, the industry ministry said. The system to cool reactor cores in case of emergency stopped at the No. 1 and No. 2 reactors of the plant operated by Tokyo Electric Power Co., it said. Read more: www.businessinsider.com...

This is all that has been said about the nuclear reactors. Do not panic over this, there is no risk at this time unless something significantly changes to put the stations at risk. AT this time they are all shut down, and they are aware of any issues. The only emergency is that they are without the use of those plants... and who knows for how long. We know that Fukushima won't be up and running again until they get main power working again, and can get the backup systems working again. It IS shut down though.

Time for bed... Will hope that things stay as they are now. It seems like it's just managing what's already happened at this time. Best wishes to those on the coast lines. Stay vigilant, safe, and keep best of spirits through these tough times. This is world history, make it something to be proud of!

After viewing some of the footage of the tsunami sweeping over cars and people on the news I can't imagine that thousands if not more can not be dead.
If other tsunamis are anything to go by then usually anyone who is swept up winds up dead one way or another.

I'm at work at a chemical plant in the Baton Rouge Louisiana area - I just went outside to get some readings and I didn't see any weird lights in the sky. Clear sky and crisp.

Thanks for the links about the reactors. I sure hope they can secure them. If not, this could be worse than anyone expected. Very worrying indeed.

I was only reading on here last week about at times the moon becoming the closest to the earth and correlating with devastating natural disasters.

I wonder if this is related.
