We are both just accidents of evolution, lucky enough to live for a little while before we die and cease to exist. No matter what you do, or how much you want it, nothing will change the fact that you are not special and once you die nothing you did while you were alive will mean anything. This is actually very good news. Due to the fact that this is it, you might as well accept it. Enjoy every moment you can, because when your time is up, that's it. No reason to get stressed out or worry. None of it matters. No matter how much money you get, how many friends you have or how many homeless cats you rescue, you are still going to end up the same way the Pope, Jay Leno, and Dahmer will. So relax, take a deep breath and enjoy what little time you have.

I get why accepting Jesus would gain you entry into heaven.

Its not just because he dies for your sins. The paid off the old debt we already owed and made a little easier for a fresh start.
Jesus had teachings that we were to follow to be worthy right? I dont understand it if someone believes jesus as god and savior thats it.
They would have to live by his teachings as well right?

Could hitler say I believe that jesus died for my sins and im sorry for what ive done and hes in?!?

I just cant wrap my brain around it.

As for the fact that you know what you believe that is great and Im am happy that you can live a life with that comfort. I dont have that comfort and am terrified that since you dont care at all what I think that I was screwed from birth since its hard to find people that wont say that to me.

God cant leave me behind. Im getting really upset. I cant be punished because I have to many devils throwing fire at me. Even back when jesus was alive being tempted by the devil at least it was coming from people who had to ride camels and send messages that took a month to get to the recipient. If someone wants to confuse me now excuse me but I would have coming from so many different directions that I wouldnt have a chance (especially if I was born into it)

Can you not think of one other way that could be mistaken for a rapture.

Alright, here's my story then. I grew up Catholic. I was in church every week and even prayed at night before going to sleep. I was a 'Sunday Christian', where I was not devoted to God, but church was just part of my life that I sat through so I could feel better about myself. I went to confession once in a while and told the priest anything I could think of that I had done wrong.. like white lies or whatever, and then the priest said he absolved me of my sins and told me to go recite a couple 'hail mary's'. That was my life. I considered myself to be a really nice guy. I helped people out whenever I got the chance, didn't break any laws, and so certainly I was a better guy than the criminals, murderers, and rapists. Right? Well, the truth is I was also committing adultery by watching pornography, I told white lies when it suited me, and I had even stolen on occasion to name a few. Small time stuff by most people's standards, for sure. When I was 18 I decided that church wasn't doing anything good for me, and didn't feel like going anymore so I just walked away. I partied like most other teenagers in the form of alcohol, and basically just lived that way for about a year. I felt lost, unhappy, and felt like I was living pointlessly.

When I was 19 though, I found myself in a little Baptist church. Somebody had invited me and I went along cause I had nothing better to do. I was presented with a choice much like what I've posted here in this thread, and I felt the presence of God. Now, to look at somebody say 'I felt the presence of God' from the outside in must sound pretty weird, but it's one of those things that there is no denying it. I just knew it. I've said a couple times in various threads like this that if you want proof God exists, walk into a bible-preaching church with an open heart and He will meet you there. It's true. And until you experience that for yourself, it will sound funny. I knew that although I consider myself a good guy, I still was seperated from God because of sin in my life. Sin is sin is sin. Doesn't matter how you cut it, it's still sin. Jesus bridged that gap, though.

Anyways, I didn't know it then, but what I was feeling is the Holy Spirit. There's no denying your sins when you are in the presence of God. I've seen a lot of people give their heart to Jesus as I did, and they all experience the same thing. You just know that you must accept Jesus as your saviour or else you will never be free from the penalty of sin. And so I did. I went home that night and started reading the bible, and I've been living for God ever since.

What I am trying to say to you is this: This whole world will try to convince you that you don't need Jesus. As humans we make excuses like "Well, I am a good person" and "At least I don't do _____".. but at the end of the day, we are still not perfect. I am not perfect, I'm forgiven. Thank Jesus, I am forgiven! We have a great big God and He loves us. I don't care what you guys think of me, I really don't. The whole reason for me being here is so that I can share what I've found with people who will listen.

My friend have no fear, God isn't going to leave you behind. People just lack understanding of what God is...

Fear is their biggest selling point....by your fear you are being controlled by them. Because you're afraid that "God will leave you behind" you will eventually pick a religion. Now feel free to do so if that is what you need in your life, but realize that its there for socialization purposes...and to collect money.

You and everyone else goes through the same process in this life regardless of what religion you select. Theres no free ticket into heaven for those labeled "christian" or followers of Christ, they're no different then any other person in this life. Regardless of what label you chose for yourself you are no different then anyone else. From the truest Christian / jew / muslim .......to those you wouldn't associate yourself with (for instance people in jail)

We all follow the same path....You're born..you live...you die, you return home and you start over if you haven't learned your lessons. When you're born you have accumulated Karma from your past lives which affects your current incarnation in various ways.

Do Not Fear above all else but one thing........Love God with all your heart and all your soul and all your being.

In doing so you also show love to your fellow man because they too are a part of God like yourself.

You can follow whatever religion you want, it doesn't matter, we all have free will, and which ever you chose will not affect your path. Though spiritual progression is definatly slowed by religion because as i've stated they make you believe in Fairy tales and promote fear....

First of all, you do not have to hold on to your head. I'm not here to rip it off. To those who have been given much, much is required. I have been given a few nuggets and it is my desire to share the wealth. You must know that to discern truth one would of necessity have to have the spirit of truth.

You are correct, in that the hour is late. It is later than most can comprehend and I am not here to waste my time or yours or anyone else's who may happen along this path.

One of the manifestations of the spirit of truth is "discerning of spirits" so as to discern truth from error. In some instances it only takes a minute to see where a person is at by the first couple words out of their mouths. The tongue, no man can tame, but God can.

As I have alluded too in a past post gone by the wayside I suppose, the big picture must include all pieces, but I think we can put it in a zip folder so-to-speak and still gain what has eluded many not because of a lack of desire, but in many instances it has been the "supposed" Shephards that have led the flocks down the many paths that are not real straight. Jehovah, The Almighty God and His Son Jesus Christ will be the judge of whether this be true.

To possess the spirit of truth and grace, (undeserved favor) one would need to know that originally God created man in His image. "God (is) a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship (him) in spirit and in truth." (John 4:24)

Adam was a three fold being. He was formed, made and created. He had a body, soul and spirit. "And the Lord God formed man (of) the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7) "So God created man in his (own) image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them." (Genesis 1:27) Again, "God (is) a Spirit..."

Adam was formed, made, created. Body, Soul, Spirit. "(Even) every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea,I have made him." (Isaiah 43:7)

"And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for IN THE DAY that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die." Genesis 2:16,17)

To zip it up so-to-speak, IN THE DAY Adam disobeyed God, he died spiritually. Adam could still walk and talk and have babies and so forth and so on. Adam lived in the physical sense until he was 950 years old. But, IN THE DAY he sinned he became a two part being.

And, until this very day, humans are born in this world as two part beings. We are not born in this world with the spirit of truth living in us. That is why Jesus Christ told Nicodemus a Religious leader of his time, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, Verily (Truly, Truly) I say unto thee, except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily (Truly, truly) I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and (of) the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:3-5)

This is the good news! By Jesus Christ going to the cross and dieing for us, he paid the price and penalty for sin. He is God's only begotten Son. His blood was so pure that he washed away the sins of the world. He died, he was buried and God raised him from the dead and is seated at the right hand of God. Jesus Christ is coming back to claim what he paid for with his own blood.

The Devil looses! He has a place reserved for him with his angels who fell with him in the lake of fire! Until then he has doctored the playing field to best suit his sometimes hidden agendas.

We must be born-again! We are two part beings! We must become three part beings to be a part of the family of God. No, you do not have too, God has given us free will to do what we want. But, God so loved you that He gave you His Son to die for you. You can live forever by asking Jesus Christ to save you. HE WILL! Read, John 3:16 then Read and do Romans 10:9,10. You are a man/woman of body and soul if you are not born-again. The gift of God is His spirit! To be born of God is to be a three part being of body, soul and spirit

So in a sense when adam ate the apple he gave up his spirit/soul to the devil and so his kids wouldnt have one either? So we must be born again....... haha... I never got that was why they were saying born again christian....

I even was a christian.......

I left even after I cried feeling like jesus accepted me at a gathering of diiferent chapels.......I left because what they were preaching, they were not living......I would ask them: why is okay to sin just because he died for them? They would always say no one is perfect and turn around and buy a pretzel from the people selling them inside the place of worship.... Jesus flipped out when he saw that.......

Is there another way to accept jesus? For example.... could I believe that accepting jesus means to live by trying to be the pperson he taught me to be or do I have to join with those that arent living it but preaching it....

And lastly, Salvation is free. You cannot earn your way into the family of God. Jesus Christ did all the work. We obey God becauase He first loved us. No one has gotten it all right. But we need to try to find a fellowship of believers that love God and seek truth and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

Salvation has been made so simple a child can believe and be saved.

Yes, sin passed to all mankind by Adam. Jesus Christ is the second Adam who redeemed us back to God!!!!!!!

The book of Thessalonians declares that there will be sent a strong delusion. Maybe a trick of the enemy to make the world believe an abduction has taken place, to explain away the missing. Or that the missing are all those that needed to be removed for one reason or another. Or the missing might be found missing after a nuclear event. Only time will tell. Be right, or be left.

I was speaking metephorically the apple and I just got done thanking you for being so nice....

I dont know the difference between my spirit and my soul since god never told me that there was a difference when he decided to make me.

I can jump on board with the reason jesus came here. What I am confused about is the interpretation of the teachings he has left behind.... I cant not nor will ever do what someone else told me to do because they said so..... I could read the bible from front to back and start my own religion on a completely different perception of what it says....

My problem is that I dont know if i would really trust the ones who interpreted it for the christian, catholics, jew, buddist etc.....

I am saying that people are so quick to agree when they dont know it for themselves and that scares me because I havent met any truley good people and Im not young....

Everyone has always turned their back on me and if they are the ones that are teaching me what religion to believe, then I'm not so sure their intentions are going to be good all of suuden......
