I hope they dont move against Salvia D. Many countries are bending over backwards (no pun intended, Salvia travelers) to ban it.

It would be a complete waste of time and money if the govt. really did decide to go ahead with this ban. What about the millions of acres (not to mention protected national forestry) where any of these plants grow wild? Yet the masses would be dumb enough to allow this to happen, because of an apparent "bad drug" that we ALL have taken was deemed a serious threat to humanity.

heres another thought to ponder.

Salvinorin A, the active constituent in Salvia divinorum is being studied for its effects as an antidepressant.
Researchers are trying to find out more about this herb, and have to apply for exemtions via the state health departments to conduct their research.... If this legislation passes it will make it harder again to gain exemption and move further in the field....
Also, datura can be used in low dosages as a medicinal plant for therapy. It is a cheap and effective medicine, however this new legislation would force datura uses to buy the SYNTHETIC FORM.

This smells of TPTB and big business.

You said it best. Illegal to use nature for our selves, but big pharma has free reign as long as it profits from us. Either that or in the case of recreational "drugs", free reign for the narco-corporations.

I've just emailed the minister at: www.gardenfreedom.com...

Please also do yourself NOW! Otherwise you're not an Australian and a typical sheep who complains and does nothing about it (and thinks "what difference can 1 person possibly make!").

Write your own email. DO NOT use the existing template.

Here's what I've written:

=====================
To the Minister for Justice, the Hon Brendan O'Connor MP

Hi,

In a nutshell, this is regarding the proposed legislation on ban on thousands of plants that contain traces of '___':

Bottom line: To criminalize plants that could not possibly be used as a source for drugs simply because they contain traces of '___' is ridiculous.

Human beings NATURALLY produce '___' in their pineal gland.

Yes, even YOU, the minister yourself, produces '___' in your brain.

Whoever has proposed this ban, obviously has an agenda (agenda for handful few who are involved in support of this '___' plant ban - and not for mother nature and all it's inhabitants who all equally share earths resources.)

Every potential plant banned has inescapable and inevitable NEGATIVE consequences on ecology and biology of those species sharing or using that plan for it's necessary growth and survival.

And that's yet another reason why this ban is totally and utterly bonkers!

It's like an organization decides to suddenly ban apples because they discover that apples have incredible human healing effects if taken in a certain way.

So in order to prevent lost billions of dollars in profits by the organization of people using the FREE ALTERNATIVE to heal themselves... the organization decides to CORRUPT the government and present it with 10 reasons why apples are actually bad for everyone.

It always happens like this. Someone with self-agenda corrupts the government, and government imposes the law. And people/nature suffer. But the organization now profits!

Please don't let this happen. It's not only about us and our generation. We'll all die one die anyway. As human beings, it's our duty to make way and ensure maximum personal spiritual/mental/physical growth for future generations.

In summary: DO NOT impose this "Plant ban that contains traces of '___'" legislation.

Thank you. :-)
Andre V

Nice! I was a little more focused on facts... or more I want the facts from the Government, no doubt they won't be forthcoming lol:

- - - -

Dear Sir,

It has come to my attention that the possibility exists that the powers
that be within Australia are soon to discuss the potential of including
many more plants under the serious drug acts policy which are currently
excluded from the list.

I have no objection to the inclusion of any plants directly related to
hard drugs, which we know relate directly to other serious crimes. However
I find it both rather disturbing and confusing that the Australian
Government could even consider banning so many plants associated with the
naturally occurring substance Dimethyltryptamine ('___'). The fact that so
many Australians most probably have plants in their gardens which already
contain trace amounts of it would open a legal minefield, or potential
government robbery in the name of drug enforcement. The other fact that
'___' is naturally occurring in the human body would surely also open up a
massive legal problem, because essentially every human being would become
a banned substance.

It's common knowledge that Heroine Addiction has links with violent crime
and theft. Yet I ask what independent Australian research the government
has regarding '___', especially in terms of its physical, psychological and
social impact. Also I am not interested in the research done overseas, its
clear political and financial institutions can influence research to suit
an agenda or social situation which may differ greatly from what we have
in Australia.

My guess is there is no "real" research, and that a few un-informed
politicians are using this scare-mongering to put forward an agenda, which
could affect millions of Australians. I am very concerned that almost no
Australian's have any awareness of this and/or how it could affect their
lives. There is a fine line between governance for the people and abuse of
power, and something which could affect so many, without their awareness,
surely is an abuse of power?

So would the government please make available all Australian based
independent research relating ONLY to the effects of '___' as highlighted
above. If it is deemed that there are no negative effects, or negative
effects are almost negligible in comparison to legalized drugs (alcohol
and tobacco), then I would hope common sense would prevail and we could
see tax payers money being used on real issues relating to drug problems,
and not potential repercussions for innocent civilians.

Regards

(name removed for obvious reasons lol)

No doubt I won't get a response lol

And thats probably the closest anyone here has come to the point, they don't want anyone anywhere to be capable of producing/growing anything that is going to be practically impossible to control and therefore how are they going to get their share of the spoils i.e TAXES.

It all comes down to Big Corporations, Hemp was banned because of Big Oil and Pharma and I think that at least one of the usual suspects is once again the culprit here!

I also emailed them at [email protected]

PLEASE TAKE 5 MIN TO DO THE SAME

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Sir,

This new proposed legislation is absolutely ridiculous. The Australian population WILL NOT TOLERATE classification of NATIVE NATURALLY OCCURING flora as controlled substances. You have GONE TO FAR.

While you are at it why don't you just arrest God?

Please throw away this legislation IMMEDIATELY.

Regards,
*******

Better tear out most of our native vegetation then.

Lets just ban all plant life and see how long we last.

At least people wont have access to '___'.

Not trying to be rude guys, but watch your spelling and capitalisation in these letters. Its a quick way to get them thrown out.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is all part of their plan to get us to riot just like the other countries (if these riots were to be as a cover up for something else).. Maybe even so they can go down to their bunkers... If that is whats happening with all these other places...
I think we need to tread carefully here and think about things logically before we act.. That is, if this is passed. If not, we should be on the look out for any other way they might try and fire us up. And it wouldn't hurt to try and rid fluriude from our lifestyles haha.

Guys having flicked through the discussion paper that you can access from the link, I can say right now that this will not happen.

I really don't think that the lawyers who wrote this paper realise that '___' is in just about everything. It really highlights the need for more interdisciplinary cooperation. Its easier said than done though.

Because this is a government we are talking about..!!

These plants might be our heritage and native to the country, but they will be deemed weeds and they will have an excuse to harvest those forests down to bare earth..!!

Kill all the bad weeds with bad drugs in them. Goodbye National forests. Golden Wattle and other Acacias like Blackwoods, Silver Wattles, Sticky Wattle, etc that all contain the drug will be destroyed, mark my words!!!

This will be about wood chips and $$, and about selling of the newly cleared land for development and farming..!!

Not to mention all the $$ they spend on Environmental and Fire management every year. No Forests means no need for either... More people out of work...lol Atleast the Firefighters have chainsaw skills, they can get lumberjack jobs when the forests go..LOL

You know, something just occured to me.

A bill like this being past would put around 3,000,000 people in the NRM industry out of work nationwide. and then even more when those who rely on commerse with them will go under.

If you want to inflame a nation into outright revolt, just like we're seeing in many other countries right now, this is one way to go about it..!!

Cause I tell yer right now, It's going to totally piss off a lot of people..!!

the thing is users are that users !

They are not abusing a substance , abuse seems to infer harm , and people who use '___' do not harm themselves as there is no possible way to inflict harm with '___'
