Another large quake hits Christchurch New Zealand

I dont know if this has been posted before, but this map gives an amazing insight to where the ' fractures' in our Earth are, and the frequency of 'quakes in a particular area. Check the colour guide for 'quakes over the past 5 years, those circled have occurred in the past two weeks.

I am SO sick and tired of seeing people blame HAARP for every single thing mother nature does..
HAARP has nothing to do with it, so please stop. It makes other members here blow off your entire post when they see that word. Your credibility is tainted... If you really knew how HAARP works, you wouldn't be blaming anything but atmosphere heating near their facility for research.

I wish there was an ignore feature so we could just avoid the "ITS HAARP" posts..

FACT: It was an earthquake caused by stress on the plates, and the fault is sliding causing the quake.


Sorry.. just sick and tired of people looking for outrageous explanations for simple things as this.

Before I sign off for the night I wanted to express my deep sorrow and condolences to those that have lost their loved ones in this disaster. I look at the videos and pictures and can't imagine the pain, sorrow and fear that the residents of ChristChurch must be feeling at this moment. My thoughts and prayers go out to all that have been touched by this disaster.

This seems all to suspicios that this has happened within the last earth quake, has anyone thought maybe the secret governments with the technowledgy could be behind this, look at chemtrail and HAARP, theres sighns showing up everywhere but the mainstream media are to stupid or decptive to report on it.

they need to evacuate the entire area. i foresee something larger coming.

the mayor is trying to keep people there but hes being stupid and jeopardizing those peoples lives even further.

other towns or cities cannot handle that larger influx of people.

i think the distinct thing about the chch quakes is. from what im aware the quartz in the soggy soil that is practically marshland is ripe for electrical discharges which is causing lots of earthquakes. all the time.
so i mean yeah other places had "AFTER SHOCKS" but this is like. do u really wanna risk it?


hmm many people blame things like harp. i am not apposed to this idea at all.
in fact i think this whole operation was setup and monitored by the US. just like NZ always is.

Do you know ANYTHING about how our Earth became our home? How it was formed? How it is STILL forming?

For those who keep throwing up HAARP causing earthquakes, there is a thread about it, looking at finding PROOF that HAARP does in fact have the ability to do so here.
NZ has many fault lines, and is on a very active tectonic part of the planet. Check out the Quake Watch 2011 thread and you will find that this area has been monitored closely and researched by Moorfnz, Muzzy and others.
I suggest HAARP believers read BOTH threads to gain a deeper insight to these things.

Muzzy, Thanks very much for posting that.

Yes. This is a new fault.

As you can see the major faults previously mapped through NZ do not pass through the Christchurch area. There are two smaller faults to the west of the city near the Alpine range.

Christchurch was not subject to earthquakes before September 2010. That this new fault has appeared suddenly and dramatically is to me quite startling. The main reason the quake was so damaging was the sideways movement it exhibited, rather than vertical. That is apart from it being very shallow this time, compared to in September last year, and it being located right smack in Lyttleton the harbour settlement in the inlet you can see to the top left of the peninsular.

Not at all.

The mayor is encouraging people to leave if they can, also all flights out of Christchurch to Wellington and Auckland on Thu/Fri are fully booked.

More planes are being flown in to take even more people out.

No-one is about to be quarantined.

All the airfares are currently $50 pretty cheap.

Currently in Christchurch there has been a military exercise going on with American, Australia and NZ aircraft already here.

Have been think about some of the presenters on CTV today, Mike Yardley, Joe Giles , Robs(Country) Cope-Williams.

Also when you go ingto the CTV website its like everything is running normally as if CTV is up and running.

there is no reason for the government or anyone to be triggering earthquakes in New Zealand first off, secondly, Christ church sits right in an epicenter fault system on top of liquid. its a given, and has happened for millions of years, from one time or another. that's most likely why the entire island looks the way it does anyway. but now this thing is going to turn into an entire military exercise in the name of humanitarian relief, just like what they pulled in hurricane Catrina, so if you guys can get out, you better get out while you can, cuz my girlfriend told me the tanks are cording off the exits. her parents are stuck there freaking out and injured and round 2 is comin on.

Dam poor pple in christchurch , another earthquake to add to the chart its fukin crazy the way these natural disasters are hitting harder and harder .

According to what i've read, it's a whole new fault line, but they are treating it as an aftershock from last Septembers quake.

A scientist was on the news earlier saying the Sep quake must have placed lots of stress on the fault line that ruptured yesterday. He also said yesterdays quake would possibly have placed lots of stress somewhere else, and thats what they are trying to work out.

seems to make sense, but on the other hand maybe they know about as much as us......

Without trying to be insensitive but I too believe this quake in CHCH is not the last and I too believe another is coming - maybe more than one although not necessarily CHCH.

I know the Kiwis will not want to give up rebuilding, will dust themselves off and pull their sleeves up for the long haul but they also have to be realistic that we are talking lives here and there's no room to be stubborn.

I think the Kiwis in CHCH need to take a step back and assess then reassess the suituation in afew months when all these families have had time out to deal with their pain of lost ones etc.

I totally agree. Only a couple of hours ago I had a friend of mine on the phone who also lives and works in Christchurch.

He said to me, "what do we do now? Where do we go from here?"

I basically told him to just wait until things die down and we can think more clearly. He is ready to uproot and leave the city permanently with his wife.

It's a hard choice because Christchurch is a magnificent and beautiful city.
