I think this will be a nine-day wonder as there are bigger crises on the horizon. Maybe there will be more security agents but "what ho" his posts were not illegal and some people called him on his nutty posts. I like to think that the ATS memebrs are a tough bunch.

I must say, ATS is full of some of the people with the most open minds, self-thinking ability, and objective thought, at least a far greater percentage than will be found in the general public. So unfortunately there is a certain percentage of people that do not meet all, or any of those criteria, let's say erad3.

A few facts; Jared is the alleged criminal in the shooting, this is yet to be proven in court. erad3 is allegedly Jared, yet to be proven in any medium. So this is already based on two assumptions, albeit safe.

Birds can fly.
Penguins are birds.
Therefore penguins can fly.

Change some of the nouns, verbs, add some other nonsense and that is essentially what erad3, allegedly Jared, allegedly the attacker, was posting here on ATS. With that said, it may have been Jared sometimes, and a friend or family member at other times.

I read the majority of erad3 posts, over half. I could have read those repeatedly, studied them, mastered and researched them and I never would predict he would commit any crime, let alone this alleged crime.

Therefore, the FBI, CIA, DHHS can confiscate all of his postings, rhetoric, even his youtube videos and they would not in any way convince a jury that he shot Gifford and the other victims.

Essentially, I don't think this is going to affect ATS too much, other than increase membership (if not merely to see the erad3 profile/posts even though they're public searchable). I at first thought this may expose ATS to the likes of federal police, but they already know about this site. Now the media probably won't say too much about us, other than call us loons (essentially), and in less than 24 hours ATS will be off of their headlines. True, the DHHS/FBI/CIA will monitor more for suspicious activity, but I'm pretty sure there are more than enough posts/replies on here so that individual people can't scan all of them (they aren't god or santa). Therefore, they use technology searching for key words and phrases, but they were already doing that prior to the attack, and I'm sure Jared did not cause any 'hits' in their system.

In a former post, prior to the discovery of erad3, I said it would be BIG if he was on here. And yes it has been on ATS, check out the top story now, and 2/3 member picks.

I'm with you that this could be something big, but we need to find the post. This guy would certainly fit the ATS type (or stereotype), younger-middle aged white male based on site statistics. Maybe that post you read about the bird...was written by the same person, that would be BIG

It's like being part of history, not saying it's good or bad, but it is interesting nonetheless to read posts by an infamous criminal. Why do people read books written by serial killers? They don't condone the crimes, it probably scares the heck out of them, but it's interesting to think about how a 'crazy' person thinks.

Banning the account was a good move to preserve that evidence and prevent anyone without moderation privileges from hacking into the account and contaminating the evidence.

SO hasn't mentioned anything about the IP addresses used by erad3 and there is only anecdotal evidence in the media that we know of.

No violent content in erad3's posts on ATS just very cryptic. There are some people on ATS that no doubt can discuss things amongst themselves intrathread using esoteric paradigms, music lyrics etc. No link between ATS and violent crime that I can see?

Although I read quite a bit of content here on ATS, I rarely log in or post. I don't really have much in the way of worthwhile content so I lurk and keep my opinions to myself for the most part. I did want to chime in on this subject though. I for one do not see any relevant correlation to erad3 doing what he did and his posting here on ATS. Assuming of course that it is indeed Loughner.
From what I have seen of erad3's content, he posted some bizarre material. I never saw anything from this member which stated, or implied that he was contemplating any type of attack whatsoever.
If strange posts were suspect, then there are many many members here on ATS who should be under the microscope. I would hope that content which is a bit odd is not the formula to be used to ascertain whether or not a member should be labeled a killer and/or banned. Please do not spin what I am trying to say. If any type of attack is so much as implied then that is a different story. Frankly while his posts were not anything I found to be noteworthy, and far from anything I would try and figure out they were something that is ATS. I enjoy the informative posts, as well as the banter going on here. It is intriguing to see talented and knowledgeable people have a debate of sorts. The alternative views of some is also attractive. It is what keeps me reading.
In my opinion I feel that there is nothing to fear from the powers in charge here. No wrongs were committed by anyone in reading erad3's posts. No wrongs were committed in allowing him to post his thoughts however strange they may appear.
If anything I would rhink that any publicity would benefit the ATS site with an influx of new members.

wow, so this is the second crazy murderer to be a member of ATS. How many more are there here? I'm sure the government will be asking someone that question.

The media might mention the fact that he was a poster here, but I don't think there will be any specific scrutiny of ATS. The attention will go elsewhere, like those that are in the hospital, his court proceedings, ect. Today everyone is somewhere on the internet, and he was a member of multiple sites.

uggh, i dunno about you guyz, but i have already had to defend my membership of this site twice today before i even knew any media was reporting what we here had already surmised. i often post good threads from this site on my facebook and i have already been asked twice today "don't you use that site? why don't you know nothing but crazy people are there full of their "conspiracy" theories".

I think FOX news, CNN, BBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Comedy Network, Al Jazeera, Russia Today, ALL SUCK.

There, if anyone's watching ATS from MSM tonight, that should get me featured. hahahaha.
