That is kind of what I was thinking about when I asked. I guess I just did not like to see the frenzy of people calling for the death of what can be equated to a 16 year old and a 13 year old having consentual sex. Many may not find that right or appropriate but once it fell into the same space as torturing and raping the people that would include the 16 year old in the scenario, I become a little concerned the train has come waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off the tracks. I guess it was a bigger deal than I thought it would be and I am so sorry I even brought it up now.

That was completely by accident... And there is no way it was 23.. I had a window open and it was adding you, but not opening a new window.. I didn't realize the window was open until I had hit it a few times.

Yes, it was 23. From 0 to 23 new private messages in about 1 second and all of them the same. I did not miscount, it said 23 at the top. Even and idiot like me can read 23. No, not even close. I nitpicked the difference between a general age range and the actual definition of "prepubescent" as on poster just pointed out can be as young as 3. Generally under 12 or 13 is not even remotely true anymore because most girls hit puberty around 10/11 these days anyway so still, an age range as opposed to the scientific meaning of the word is just WAY OFF.

I did not nitpick a year or two, it was your specific age range versus what the word means which has nothing to do with age. NOTHING.

I believe I have already answered this. I may not agree with the stuff he is writing, but I defend the first amendment. If he or someone like him even looked at either of my kids the wrong way, I would feed his remains to the crabs in the bay. However, as far as I know, he has not DONE ANYTHING except write a book that is in extremely poor taste. I object to the subject matter in it's entirety. I ask again though....do you want MY morals to decide what you are allowed to read?

Sinnthia, I am making an assumption.. But I think it is safe to assume that you do not have children. Am I correct? If not I apologize..

Those questions seem pretty irrelevant to me really. What does any of that have to do with his right to write a book, or being arrested for a statute that does not even apply to him? I haven't heard anyone say they like the guy, or his ideas. Just that he has a right to write them down and sell them, without some yahoo from some other state trying to make a name for himself off the current witch hunt. The lawmakers in FL are idiots, they make an obscenity law, and define obscene as "I will know it when I see it." That means anything that would offend a judge in FL, can be charged with obscenity.

How is this topic still going? Man, 27 pages on something this mundane means fanaticism is involved.

If the book is potentially harming (Pedophilia, murder, rape and so on) or the author is detailing their own accounts of a violent crime(s) they committed they should be responsible for the content. Both the seller, author and publisher are all responsible. Freedom of speech is as free as the consequences are, your free to say what ever you want no ones stopping you you have to deal with the consequences of your actions. For every action there is an equal reaction.

Let me just get this out there first I Do NOT support this book. It is disgusting, perverse and wrong in many ways but This guy does have the right to write the book weather its child molesting or necrophilia or whatever he wants to write about he has the right to write whatever he wants. BOOKS are not potentially Harming its the people reading them that cause the harm don't blame the book blame the person. Just like the saying Guns don't kill, People do. same idea.

If he was arrested just for writing the book then that's wrong. But if in the book he accounted his past experiences then yes he should be arrested and removed from this world since wouldn't that be an admitting of guilt?

Most child molestations occur between a child and someone they know like a cose family friend or relative. No, you are not correct. From that I can only assume that you either do not have children or have no faith in your own ability to guide and protect them no matter who is standing within ten feet of them at your discretion.

Your opinion is scary. There are child molesters out there in the real world and there are times I cannot be with my children and watch every single interaction they have. If I have to choose between that reality and the simple of taske of allowing this man to be in proximity of me and my children, I would choose the latter. The latter I can control. When I drop my kids off at soccer practice or little league, I lose some of that control.

I think what you did was ask vague questions hoping to attack anyone that answered them simply as I did.

You asked if I would allow him near my kids. I allow lots of dangerous things "near" my kids. What I do not do is leave them alone with these things.

You are very wrong about your assumptions on my children. I am a single father of 3.. My 12 year old son, I am not so worried about. He is old enough to understand the dangers. We have talked to exhaustion about predators and what he should do in countless situations.

It is my babies that worry me... I am very close with my kids. I am extremely confident that I would notice even the smallest changes in their behavior due to any outside stress or pressure.

Relatives are not my concern either. I understand the statistics, and regular occurrence of relatives/friends molestation. Where my babies go.... My 12 year old goes. Nobody would get away with any tomfoolery in his presence.

I am more concerned with the predator that grabs a child and runs.. In the mall or from the bus stop.. Or sneaks in the window at night (Elizabeth Smart) It is the situations that I can not control that scare the sheet out of me.

I do not question my parenting one little bit. I am a phenomenal father rivaled by few. If you knew anything more than what you have read here, you would most certainly have a different opinion of me.

I have a question for you guys....If a 23 year old man or woman sleeps with a 16 year old...boy or girl...does that make that person a pedophile?

No... Although it is illegal in most states.. But I wouldn't call them a pedophile.. I am more concerned with labeling the 36 year old man/woman raping a child a pedophile.

I agree....Florida's legal consent age is 16...as long as the person their sleeping with isnt over the age of 24. Some people seem to think that if you sleep with anyone under the age of 18 then they should be considered a pedophile...at least thats what I gather of the Sheriff FB page.

I do not feel bad or guilty, that I wish this man a painful death. Nor should I. I am not angery that he wrote a book. I am happy that he put a great big spot light on himself.

I am disgusted that he is so arrogant about his thoughts on abusing children.
