YEAH... How dumb of us to want a "how to rape children" book deemed illegal.. How dare us..

How about common decency? How about right and wrong? Are we robots? Can we not outlaw a book that encourages harm to children.. SIMPLY BECAUSE it is a book that advocates harming children?

Are we so small minded we can't differentiate between these issues? Does it have to be all or nothing?

Stop being so close minded.. We could easily tweak the law to cover this sicko and his minions!

According to excerpts from the book, sounds like he's basically admitted guilt.
Also, do you really think he'd REQUEST a Jury trial? I doubt it....

I see Soficrow already covered it, but couldn't those all be argued for the Stephen King book you talked about?

Not really, because that's just PART of the book. As a whole, the story is about good overcoming evil, and Kings body of work would easily be defendable as failing the third point/prong of the test. Even this book of his has literary value, I just found that part of the book to be pretty distasteful, and I've read a LOT of King, and never had that reaction. He went to a dark place in that one.

We could easily tweak the law to cover this sicko and his minions!

Agreed. Though I'd call it refining and clarifying the law.
I'm pretty confident that defending this kind of sickness is NOT what the Founding Fathers envisioned when drafting the Bill of Rights.

are you saying that making it illegal is the only way to make the problem go away?

because.....we all know how much that works.

No, but failing to make it illegal only further encourages it.

I should add. All of my posts in this thread have been posted as a MEMBER, not as STAFF, and should not be construed as being the viewpoint of STAFF. Just wanted to add the disclaimer, since this is a rather hot topic.

This is apparently lost on many.. Or maybe I am dead wrong.. Who knows.. But someone that doesn't have their own kids.. Should not tell "real" parents how they should feel and or act..

"They might as well be my own".. BS BS BS ... You do not know.. Your not a parent.. You couldn't understand..

I don't have cancer... But I have a friend that has it, SO I completely understand.. BS BS BS!!!!!

This book is detailing loops holes in the laws and showing pedophiles how to circumnavigate all of the teachings that we instill in our children. We can teach our kids until we are blue in the face, a determined pedophile will somehow someway find a way to harm a child...

Instead of facilitating these broken humans... We should be doing everything we can to make their task harder.. Not defending their rights to print "how to" books!!!

You say "go do something about it" ... Being a single father of 3... If I did what I wanted, my kids would be left with no parents.. If this was not the case, I may have already bought a one way ticket to Florida to be at the trial... Mississippi Burning comes to mind!

I am NOT all talk.. If I found out someone touched my kids... The law would need not get involved.

Kid touchers are broken humans that do not deserve the same rights as the rest of us.. They are not humans in my world. Anyone that can look at a child and get turned on, then make a conscience decision to molest that child for sexual gratification, does not deserve our sympathy and or compassion...

im pretty confident that the Founding Fathers would have expected us to be able to solve something as morally simple as this on our own.

i think there was a load more responsibility expected of individuals when they envisioned the bill of rights.

unfortunately, a mass of people have since foregone those responsibilities for security.

like some are suggesting in this case.

no failing to take on your responsibility as a member of society, encourages it.

this is guaranteed if all he fears is the government.

now if he fears society he might not be able to convince himself he can get away with such an act.

why do you think life was so hunky dory in the 50's?

because people feared society.

society is all around you.

the government only makes appearances when its convenient for them.

Don't demonize mentally-challenged devious mens... they're just not worth it. Rapists, abusers they are indeed, but they are more of a product than a source of "Evil".

Without taking their defense, I'd also like to signal to the fathers here that most of child abuse crimes are committed WITHIN the closed circles of the family. So... before pointing the finger at the strange guy in your neighborhood, be mindful about your own behavior, or of your close friends or family members. In a society of male domination and treatment of womens (and now kids) as objects of desire, pederasty will always be rampant.

Guilty of being broken.

Can you point me to some information that shows that "being broken" is illegal? Or maybe show what "being broken" means?

This is all I need.. The video was NOT edited.. You can clearly see that.

Pedophile Author : "I have met 9 year olds and 4 years olds that have "allot upstairs"...
Reporter: "Do you think children of these ages can make sexual decisions like this?"
Pedophile Author: YES I DO!!!

Reporter "What should the punishment be for these actions?"
Sicko: "Maybe a couple of years in jail or a fine"

Guilty.. Kill him instantly!

Did you read the comment that I made about the 5th Amendment?

This is precisely why it was written into the Constitution.

He could have been coaxed.
It is called ego up/ego down in questioning.
That is what police use so as not to have to result to torture for confessions.

The fact that this is being shown on National Television is going to blow the case!!

You are only looking for vigilante justice.
Do you remember the Romans feeding the Christians to the lions?

Right and wrong are malleable concepts when no VICTIM is involved.

Go hit a punching bag. It will relieve a lot of this pent up hostility. .

Ohsorry .. let me clarify.. I was giving you my opinion.. I feel he is broken.. I hope he dies painfully. I hope he becomes a prison pin cushion..

An adult that is turned on by a child = broken.. IMO

No laws to cite.. Only my opinion.. Hopefully, that clears that up for you.

What if your wrong and in the end he goes to jail for nothing more than writing a morally perverse book?

Not for harming somebody, just for writing a book..?

if you make it illegal it just sets precedent for future exceptions, which inevitably leads to abuse, and then tyranny.

while at the same time, solving nothing. So you lock this guy up, and then what? guaranteed he will claim insanity, be released on some mandate to see a shrink, meanwhile all hes learned is not to get caught. please show me one person who has been "reformed" due to the penal system?

your just isolating him from your own little comfort zone temporarily. where you know he cant physically get you. this is called temporary security, and if this is all your after then fine, but stop acting like your trying to really solve the problem. you may feel more comfortable locking yourself in a prison, it seems more logical that way to me....after all thats where the security is...

Isolation can be accomplished socially. rewind back to the 1950's or so, would this guy be able to function in society? hell no. he wouldnt be able to get a job, go to the store, have any social life with anybody whatsoever, because all the commando-moms would have assembled some kind of massive PTA meeting and made sure of it.

but now-a-days, they just whine as much as humanly possible to their governments and peers on the internet, until the problem goes away.

First and foremost yest I did...

And I also don't rely on the television to decide what my morals are.

"If you don't stand for something then you will fall for anything"
-Bill Cooper (pbuh)

I say if we arrest this guy then we arrest and charge those at Amazon who originally promoted the book.
We arrest those who published the book.
We arrest those who read the book.
And heck while we are at it....

Let's arrest those that talked about the book.

Where do you draw a line at the madness?

Easy.... FREEDOM OF THE PRESS. PERIOD.

Doesn't this titter on entrapment? They went was out on limb by getting this guy...Hell they bought the book themselves...shouldnt the sheriffs department be held to the same standards and be charged with a crime also for having the book. I think this is wrong and entrapment.
