i'm sorry you feel that way, but i can assure you there are organizations and large numbers of youth that are not immature and unwilling to act. there is in fact a fire brewing waiting for the winds to blow it along it's path. this movement is a very long awaited movement my friend. long awaited indeed.

Spot on. We need as many leaders as we can find. I will bare as much of the burden as I can organizing the E-mail list and eventually, setting up the domain name. That is still some weeks off, so now the focus point should be refining our Mission Statement, and actively trying to spread this message through the web. Phase 1 is all about going as viral as we can go.

Individual leaders are going to be crucial in the organization of this action. But we should not ever forget that our efforts are for a common purpose. No one involved with this is alone. When i look to me left and i look to my right i can already see my countrymen and women standing next to me. This is the vision that we should up hold.

WE ARE, FOR ALL INTENT AND PURPOSES STRANGERS TO EACH OTHER. THE TRUE SOURCE OF OUR SOLIDARITY WILL LAY WITH THE FACT THE WE ARE ONE VOICE.

I'm looking forward to working with you all and I wish you the best!

Well said, couldn't agree more. Men can be killed. Ideas cannot.
Standing behind one man would make for a fragile movement. Standing behind an idea though, the idea of freedom and truth, provides us an unshakable foundation.

The government manipulates people through the illusions of liberty and justice, so we need to expose these illusions for what they are and show people that our country no longer stands for what it once did.

Several of the recent threads going around about Wikileaks, about the protests in the UK, and finally about the recent cyber war thats been initiated, have motivated me to throw this out there for ATS consumption. Here you go. Agree to disagree, and all opinions are welcome:

I would say the youth of America under the age of 18 are totally screwed right now. To expand on that thought:

Children are now being given iPhones and computers before they can reach the cookie jar, if you get my drift. Is it apathy, or forced apathy? Kids from the age group of 18-30 are going to have it rough, but that is the demographic that can also make some change if we get our crap together before it's too late. The people older than 30-35 either are currently un effected by the current state of things, like my stepfather for example who still runs a successful business, or my blood father who works in the medical field; or they have come upon equally dire straits as the youth and are urging for dramatic changes. Dramatic change will be the only thing that saves America.

Can American youth take the reigns of our country in the coming years and make a positive change? My answer to that question is two fold: (excerpt from one of my previous posts)

1) The youth of America feels trapped within a world of MTV bull snot, materialistic items, and status among their peers. For these reasons it's my belief that most will not take any action to bring change. And most also lack the general knowledge to make any constructive, beneficial changes.

2) The youth that are educated enough about the situation and want to make a difference via protest and/or revolution of some kind are scared, as well as leaderless. I can't help any one get over fear other than to say there is nothing to fear from our government. The government as an entity can not hurt us if we stand united for a single cause with one voice. If we decided to march on washington with 1 million people and tell them we're done with it, they would have to listen
.
obviously "son" you have never heard of the "bonus army" . a protest in D.c, by ww I veterans

The war veterans, many of whom had been out of work since the beginning of the Great Depression, sought immediate cash payment of Service Certificates granted to them eight years earlier via the Adjusted Service Certificate Law of 1924. Each Service Certificate, issued to a qualified veteran soldier, bore a face value equal to the soldier's promised payment, plus compound interest. The problem was that the certificates (like bonds), matured twenty years from the date of original issuance, thus, under extant law, the Service Certificates could not be redeemed until 1945.

On July 28, U.S. Attorney General William D. Mitchell ordered the veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were killed. President Hoover then ordered the army to clear out the veterans. The infantry and cavalry were supported by six tanks, and commanded by Army Chief of Staff General Douglas MacArthur. Major, later President, Dwight D. Eisenhower was his liaison with Washington police, and Major George Patton led the cavalry. The Bonus Army, their wives and children were driven out with fixed bayonets and adamsite gas, an arsenical vomiting agent, and their shelters and belongings burned. Two more of the veterans, and an unknown number of babies and children, died (accounts range from one to "a number" of casualties).

This is where Leadership must come into the equation, and which is where I feel I can be of most help.

We need a strong base of organizational leaders. Smart, young people who feel the same way about the situation, and can set some very simple, but radical changes to enact within our country. Building off of the Constitution in its original form, before modern politicians started wiping their asses with it. This group needs to be the driving force of motivation behind a revolt, and has to be able to maintain morale in the face of almost ABSOLUTE ADVERSITY.

Once there is a group of strong minds that can form an alliance with each other, then we can start planning a real American Protest. These things must happen, or we will all be indentured servants, and our children will have no hopes of understanding the feeling of living FREE.

The GOALS of action taken against our government should fall along these lines as follows.

Reduce the House of Representatives from the current 435 members to 218 members and Senate members from 100 to 50 (one per State). Also reduce remaining staff by 25%.

Do this over the next 8 years. 2 elections, 2 votes.

Get the Fed, as well as the new Fed, whose name is Goldman-Sachs, completely removed from power. This will also include any other government officials who have corporate connection that has the ability to influence our government behind the public's back.

Under no circumstances can the judicial branch of government over rule a democratic vote on new legislation, new propositions, or any other circumstances that such a vote may be held by the government AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL. States should always have the rights to govern themselves without Federal interference

At this point in time there are currently violent protests in the streets on the United Kingdom because of the actions that big money banksters and corrupt government officials have taken. The effect of their actions have caused tuition prices to reach un realistic levels in universities and the working class youth are once again facing the problem of immigrant labor taking jobs that their own citizens are well qualified for. Why has this happened? For the same reasons it's happening in the United states right now.

The time must be now, America. If we as citizens of the World can't stand up for ourselves and get our country back on track now we are going to fall by the wayside in 10 years. Our children will have little future, and our government will soon take complete control of every single aspect of our daily lives. Are you not tired of being misled? Are you not tired of being bold faced lied to every single day by the news, and by your government?

I am tired of it. I am so sick and tired of it it makes my head spin.

Along with the protests in Europe there is the cyber attacks taking place in response to the Wikileaks gag order. The efforts of the US Government to silence WL should be a sign that they are scared of us finding out the truth. They should be even more scared of what will happen should 1 million people march up to the Capitol and say enough is enough.

If we were able to organize a unified protest in washington, the rest of the country would have no choice but to pay attention. It would also be a strong show of solidarity and support to our British brothers and sisters fighting for their futures as we speak. Then the system would be getting hit on 4 fronts, the UK, and the US via protesting, and via the internet by cyber attacks and Wikileaks being kept strong. If we used our bodies and our voices, instead of our computers and our keyboards, the message would ring clear through out the country:

YOU'RE RUINING OUR FUTURE AND WE ARE GOING TO TAKE IT BACK WITH EXTREME PREDJUDICE TOWARDS THE OPPOSITION.

JULY 4TH 2011, 1 MILLION PEOPLE WILL MARCH TO WASHINGTON AND RECLAIM OUR INDEPENDANCE FROM THIS CORRUPTED SYSTEM. ON JULY 4TH 2011 WE WILL DEMAND RADICAL CHANGE.

One thing we will need to work on is some kind of name. As we work on the mission statement. We do not want the media of any kind naming us. That will just lead to bad press and I think we all know that.

thanks for reminding me... we should invest in Gas masks.

we know how they play, we know the rules of the game. be prepared to, like i've stated before, must be 100% peaceable. we cannot stand for anyone trying to cause havoc and should abandon anyone who cannot do this in a mature manner.

Your point?

I think you'r misunderstanding me for someone who will allow the government to 'remove' me from anywhere. I promise you with 1 million people they won't be putting their hands on any one, at least not with us putting our hands back at them.

You missed the underlying theme of my thread. I don't give a damn what the government says, what the law says I can or can't do. In this instance a real protest will be held and should the government send out the cops, or the national guard, or whatever they wish so be it.

THEY WILL NOT DEFEAT THIS ACTION.

Your efforts won't dissuade me to cary this effort out to its full potential. Post all the links and facts you want about protests getting shut down. The hope for this action is to stand up in their face and tell them their time is up. No longer are we going to stand idly by and allow them to walk up and down our backs with bogus legislation passed in the interest of homeland security. No more will they bail out the banksters, and leave the working man and woman to pay for it for the next 50 years. No more will corruption wreak havoc with the futures of America's next bright generation of kids. THIS WILL NO LONGER HAPPEN. With a united voice and enough people, this action will have a dramatic effect on our country. It's my hope that an action taken in DC will spur the rest of the country out of their fear induced comas. THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE UNITED STATES SHOULD REMEMBER THAT THE REAL POWER LIES WITH THE PEOPLE, NOT WITH THE POLITICIANS.

You are correct that we must maintain calm. But I would have to say this could turn to a new type of war. A war of information. And working on getting as much information about the government we can and showing our support as best as we can for a change.

T FAY.... that was my initial thought for a name.... an acronym so to speak.

T = The
F= Future(for)
A= American
Y= Youth

I dunno, just throwing out there. Feel free to suggest others. We can take a vote on the final name if there are several that we like. I chose T-FAY because its simple and to the point, but i am open to other Titles as well.

Once we get the mission statement done I think then we should go viral. So that we can use the name and the mission statement. And we can get as many followers as we can get.

Exactly, the key lies in SOLIDARITY. If your uncomfortable with the idea of being confronted by a police response than i recommend re-thinking a decision to join. I say this not to be cynical, but because if we are actually able to organize a large mass of people within the next 7months, there is going to be a police response, and there is going to be opposition. Unless we stand together and hold a strong front line of protest, our actions will be for naught.

"Your peaceful call to arms" is laudable. My point was just remember you are playing against the big dogs for all the stakes."What can they do against a million?"is a little naieve.

"Kumbaya" may be met with more than a shrug. Tthe "bonus" guys wanted nothing but money; and they were chased out by their own govts. tanks; bayonets and gas.

I'm working on the Mission Statement as we speak. the first several drafts can be considered rough. Our deadline for a final draft is the 9th of Jan. 1 day before the launch of a collective web sight, that i will finance out of my pocket, in order to spread the message to a larger group of people.

I will submit the Mission Statement for a 'peer review' of sorts via e-mail before we post the final draft on ATS, first. After it's gone up here, than we should take it viral. I agree, with your assessment regarding this issue.

I agree, we need the help of anyone, no matter their age or demographic.

The problem is, I think the elite would just turn the rest of the population against any movement that wishes to make changes to this corrupt government.

Yes and youth movements are problematic. However many older folk dont mind good young leadership. They like the idealisim the energy ect. And a good youth movement really needs the backing of older like minds. I would be watchfull that you dont alienate older folks.

I would like to commend you for requesting that American Youth once and for all "Stand Up and Unite"! I am from what "they" call Generation X, and I have to admit that the youth are being dumbed down on a second by second basis....what a shame! Who really wants any intellectuals standing up for what's right? The Government certainly doesn't.

I remember when I was growing up how they talked trash about my generation even though my generation was the last to have any kind of sense or knowledge and that's not saying much. Back then, at least the US educational system was number 1 in the world and here where I live California was at the top of the list. Now, I think the California educational system ranks next to last! At least my generation recognizes that something smells way too fishy now a days.

The current youth don't have a clue. They don't even know they should be worried or concerned about their future! My grandmother told me back in the 1980's when video games hit the market that they are going to lead to "Trouble" one day, guess she was right. Not to say that video games are bad...not at all, but to say it seems as if it makes it hard for these kids to separate fiction from reality. The same goes for all the D@M video networks, reality shows and crappy @ss news. It's all a farce!

Hopefully, you can bring some understanding to those youths around you like I'm doing and show those who are so ever ignorant, that things are not going to get better and show them a better, more constructive way to deal with ALL the negativity that surrounds them.

For all the time I have been here, I have never been more compelled to post then now.

I have indeed felt the way that many of you have for far too long, there has to be a change of great magnitude. Make no mistake, we are indeed "sugar coated slaves".

We have been lied too and sucked dry for so long.

Peoples retirements swindled and higher ups getting slaps on the wrists for things that we get the book thrown at us for. Because we have no name or power and/or monetary recognition. And, now grandma edna who put her faith in a system that she believed in now has to work as greeter at the neighborhood wally world just to eat, because her system has failed to deliver on it's promises or being forced to work now that the cost of living has sky rocketed (i think purposely of course) to drive them to an early grave from lack of hope and the stress now to make ends meet, while thinking "wasn't this what I worked for all my life, so I wouldn't have to do this when I retired".

How long have we been asleep one might ask, that we've somehow let the big g work for themselves and not for us?

We the people have lost control, and I agree that we the people should now begin organizing to take it back.

Why don't we start electing smart every day joes into office? Instead of re-electing corruption time and time again, or do our votes even really count anymore, and not just for the highest bidder for the seat.

We should make it a 50 state organization, with 50 heads 1 for each chapter etc. that have another 5 - 10 beneath them ready to take their place. All ran from a central domain, with a subdomain for each state.
IE: www.wethepeople.com and texas.wethepeople.com

Each state has their own site to use for state side events, recruiting and gathering with forum and message board etc. blogging the message and keeping state members and national members informed.

Start it's own facebook page, for obvious reasons and twitter. Start some fan pages of issues we want to make the public aware of etc. or for them to become a fan of other "down with" subject matter all interconnected to a central cause.

Believe me, many online marketers would take off with this in a heartbeat to get going viral, at no charge to boot, more like a deposit of their own patriotic duty.

I'm just as tired of talking about it as anyone else, just like my neighbors, friends, family - heck everyone you run into now a days has the same thing on their mind. Enough is enough.

Count me in, what's the next move? Have you got domain and hosting figured out - godaddy and hostgator are your friend, don't host at godaddy, use for domain, host at hostgator

Ready to help
