In his memoir, Dreams from My Father, Barack Obama shares fond memories of developing a close relationship with Frank Marshall Davis, who treated the young Obama “almost like a son.”10 He’d spend hours listening to Davis’ poetry and seeking his advice regarding his college and career choices. In other words, Obama sought out a Communist to be his mentor. Let’s not forget the fact that Karl Marx was co-author of The Communist Manifesto upon which the ideology of communism and socialism are based. THIS is Obama thinks he owns the USA and needs 34 ships for the all mighty

What if they did not really "give" them but stock them over there?
Iran is pretty close...

I nearly panicked just then, thinking perhaps Wikipedia are a little out of date? I saw here in Janes that a deal has been announced from top level Indian officials with Russia on the aircraft tender, mind you, it does state the technicalities need to be sorted out and agreement comlpeted within a few months? Hmmm?

www.janes.com...

India and Russia agree joint deal for 300 fifth-generation fighter aircraft
11 October 2010

India will enter an agreement with Russia to jointly design, develop and produce up to 300 fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA), India's Defence Minister A K Antony has confirmed.

In a statement by the Indian Ministry of Defence on 7 October, Antony said the FGFA would be developed during the next decade. He added that the project – along with an undertaking agreed earlier this year to jointly develop a Multirole Transport Aircraft (MTA) – would become flagship Indian-Russian collaboration programmes.

He said: "India hopes to get 45 MTAs and also finalise the FGFA. All the issues we have discussed and solved between our two countries. Now, it is in the final stages [within] the Indian government. Some technical formalities between the governments is [still] needed and I am sure we will be able to complete [the agreement] very soon ... within a few months."

$12 billion value deal I see....

BUT then I found in www.metal-pages.com/news/story/49910/ (which is frustratingly a PPV website so I couldn't read the whole story)...looks like others think the deal is still open pending Obama's visit?

India to mull US fighter aircraft deal when Obama visits
25 Oct 2010 ... Ahead of an official visit to India by US president Barack Obama next month, New Delhi is said to be considering an $11 billion deal to buy ...

I think India may also have some issues with previous Russian aircraft deals getting uncomfortably price-hiked over time, perhaps they're not fully comfortable with it?

Other things to note:

David Cameron visited 26 Jul 2010, to discuss "The business and economic relationship,
The G-20 future agenda, The future of Britain's and India's role in Afghanistan", Obama is there 6 Nov 2010, then Dimitry Medvedev is due 21 Dec 2010, looks like there may be a surprise in one lucky bidder's Christmas stocking?

During the bid process a LOT has changed, and it continues to be a very fluid situation I think, with all kinds of issues like $reserve status, headaches with Pakistan and China...future of the G20 etc...all sorts of things affecting the players.

At first I was like : Bahhh Obama just want security and paranoid a bit... But now.. 1+1+1+1+1...

The markets (gold high), the feds (huge amount new money) the huge military deployment over there, the succession within the department of justice (changed today), the huge amount of weapons they "gave" to india, Iran really near...

Well... Smelling bad...

Could this "visit" be cover for a new offensive on Pakistan or some other country in the region? if security is so bad in India then why not just invite them over to the States instead?

That's exactly what i'm thinking. There is no reason to go there if the security is so bad.

With the weapons the gave to "India", offensive on Pakistan or Iran would seem more "logical".

I really think this is more to do with Obama attempting to:

a) Challenge India's previous decision (Oct 2010) to spend $12 billion plus developing a close strategic relationship with Russia for their military aircraft (fifth gen fighter etc) tender....all the leaders involved are still at it I think.

b) Attempt to drum up other trade deals with India (c. badly needed $billions)

c). Attempt to ensure India is 'on-side' with the USA re: defending the US$ world reserve status, and resisting both economic and strategic challenges from, well I have my suspicions who they may be, but I'll leave that for now...

The gave weapons to both, Pakistan and India.

"the US, in an attempt to "incentivise" Pakistan, is piling on sophisticated military equipment that have little to do with counter-terrorism but more to do with targeting India."

Link

If you look at a map... Well.. I don't think they gonna attack Pakistan, nor India... Who's left? Yep, Iran.

And the weapons are already there in India and Pakistan...
edit on 4-11-2010 by Esger because: (no reason given)

He won't get hit over there. I'm really thinking something else is up.
He's set up a palace and his palace guard. He's got thousands of minions around him.
What it looks like is this -

1 - He's an elite who is in power and wants to spend as much as he can on himself and on boosting his ego before he's voted out of office in two years. Screw the tax payer ... spend the money and live like a freak'n king.

2 - He knows something big is going to go down over here while he's gone and so he's set up his palace and his palace guard ... live in style on the other side of the planet until whatever is happening in the USA settles down.

That's MY thought on this.

3. He knows something is going big in India that is world changing (in a better way) that's why he can even bring his daughter with him. Why would he risk bringing his kids in India if it is dangerous there?

A lot of people here are so fear-based that all they can think of is doom and gloom. Stop scaring yourself!

No one here has the complete info of what is happening but very few here can give a positive scenario of things that is happening. If our collective consciousness shapes our reality, then the illuminati is very happy because the collective consciousness here in ATS is fear dominant. You are basically being used by the illuminati you are trying to fight.

Express love and positive energy instead of sharing fear to each other.

I thought the goal of this membership was to DENY ignorance, not run headlong to embrace it. Seriously, everyone condemning Obama for taking "34 warships" to India and spending "2 billion" a day there should FACT CHECK your sources.

Hoax article, hoax headline.

Pentagon Dismisses Reports of 34 Warships for Obama Trip Security

The Pentagon did not mince words in dismissing as “absolutely absurd” and “comical” media reports from Indian news outlets that the US Navy was sending 34 warships off the coast of Mumbai as part of the security preparations for President Obama’s upcoming trip to India.

“absolutely absurd” and “comical”

Shame on you all for accepting this as the truth without verifying it.

Well, looks like the news didn't verify neither, because it was all over the news.

I've been a bit distracted looking at the big $12 billion military aircraft tender/deal and drumming up trade angle (i.e. seeing whether the potential sale would, on the face of it cover the 'costs' of the visit - which I conclude it would).

However, I follow your logic entirely, certainly, what I REALLY don't like, is how we are in a position where we can all so readily think the things you have communicated. It is not just Iran that the fleet is nearing, it's not too far from Pakistan/China/Korea/Japan - all potential flashpoints - we will all sleep better if they did return having simply flexed some muscle...

If this 34 ship/fleet deployment is just for security alone, I think that must raise some serious concerns too. What has changed in the world for the USA to feel it needs that (in that region) now? What does that say about prospects for US/western business wishing to operate freely in the region?

I find that the only news sites picking up this "story" are from the right-wing blogosphere and the Examiner. Real news sources are carrying the "Pentagon dismisses" report.

I verified it here

One article from an India newspaper says it's true so thats it? As for it being "all over the news", well yeah, and they all cited the original article.

Think you may be right, I just read the other post analysing the credibility of the statement and think it's all looking very muddy now...

In any case, I still remain convinced of what I have posted here about the agenda I suspect is largely behind the visit and the importance of the current phase of military deals and strategic decisions India is making and their impact on the region, the USA and others.

Well I was born in the states and only came to Greece a few months ago, but you're right it wouldn't bother me if America's hegemony was traded for a multi-polar political balance, as long as it doesn't lead to war of course (not that there haven't been wars under America's "leadership".) My primary concern is increasing human liberty, intelligence, virtue, interdependence, and sustainability. If this can be done with America at the wheel great, if with someone else, great.
