I agree that if taxes are to be raised they only be raised on those who make over
$1,000,000 or more. I wholeheartedly agree with your post we
have traded trust and honor for wealth and fame. Before the 1980’s you actually had to work hard and be a good person to earn an honorable following
while today all you must have is witty remarks and partisan attack pieces to win over the minds of the masses. This goes for both sides of the
argument.
If a television anchor would speak a lie on television they would immediately try and correct it before their reputation is ruined while today the
more lies they tell the more following they garner. I am hoping this recession has brought people back to reality and I believe it is occurring but as
usual government is the last to respond. Americans are turning against government, business and media for a simple reason, they are more interested in
political mudslinging than finding solutions to our problems.
They are tired of the lies (Democrats, Independents and Republicans) and they are tired of the corruption which is rampant throughout our political
and financial centers. Now they see the two combined to make one authoritarian bureaucracy which legislates against the interests of the people. I
don’t believe Americans are anti-government I believe they are just against ridiculous over taxation and over regulation, this makes people angry at
even good regulations as they just see at as more lies and more government control.
I have already said before that we need to reform Capitalism to fix its flaws, Capitalism does not take into account emotion such as (greed,
tradition, morals, respect, integrity, honor) and thus is able to be abused by those who are seeking to profit. We will always have these people but
we must find a way for people to throw them aside for causing divisions within society. Before media became CNN, MSNBC and FOX we had honorable news
outlets that provided us with the most important political, economic and natural disaster related news around. Now news is all about partisan politics
by using media outlets to push their agendas combined with celebrity gossip for distraction.
The whole dog and pony show needs to end but we as a society must first admit we have a problem so that we can begin to fix it. Deny the demagogues
the right to preach their division such as Hannity, Olbermann, O’Reilly, Schulz, Beck and Matthews and allow the real news anchors to
return.
