good job on getting a picture. i have to admit there is no way that is balloons or jupiter or planes, but that is due to the quality of your picture.

how ever i don't think it will escape the sun glare excuse, regardless of if it is true or not, we all know how these u.f.o. threads go, as much as i want it to be proof.

edit: or lights in the window. see debunking is easy, all you have to do is make something up.

a balloons movement can depend on many things, no they wont necessarily disappear.

and i have no idea if the o.ps picture is real or if he took it at the time he says.

no offence meant to the op.

but there has been many fake reports, fake pictures and misidentifications and outright purposeful hoaxing amongst the normal stuff.

4chan made a concerted effort to cause havoc today as well as in the last few days.

thanks

Regarding the balloon theory: aren't there laws in NYC/NYS that prohibit the mass release of helium-filled balloons? Seems like releasing that many helium-filled balloons into the air would almost certaintly be an environmental abuse, and could cause a potential fire hazard and/or threat to air traffic. Just a thought.

So the majority say they are balloons? Then surely the majority of people can't be wrong

Here is the pic provided from the link you supplied:

That's no ballon...it's a space station!

Nice picture. I don't know what it is, but the second I looked at it I felt a certain way. Difficult to describe, like uhhh fulfillment. That's a lot of friggin' ballons I must say.

I can certainly understand your position on this. We have certainly seen many MANY hoax attempts over the years here on ATS and elsewhere. From flying hub caps to pretty cool alien muppets, and even some very good cgi.

I am not convinced that we are dealing with strictly balloons here though. Balloons dont hover in the air for extended periods of time, they fly up and they explode. Certainly we can not say that the night time stuff we saw were balloons, balloons dont glow. I would personaly like to see some video evidence of teh day time sighting in NY.

Please examine the size of these "balloons" relative to the size of the skyscrapers.

eh? why?

thanks

Facts don't matter to you? So you just make assertions without examining the evidence?

all the earth cam stuff was planes, but in the main almost everything was a normal event but anonymous and 4chan were also pranking and basically put everyone in a big ufo flap that didn't really exist, they added things, falsified video dates, made some fake pictures and kept posting around the net that the original balloons were ufos, and it just got out of control from that point on, as people believed what they were being told and then went looking for ufos and saw what they wanted to.

thanks

To correct your information, and to be on topic, this was not a troll from 4chan. Their paranormal board was actually quite organized tonight listening in on NYPD police transmissions, recording and screen capping various webcams for two hours, and making calls all over the city inquiring about the lights. They did a great job and shouldn't be accused of setting off a prank.

There were numerous sightings of various objects in New York spanning from mid afternoon until late night.

That is a pretty interesting picture indeed!

Im not really sure what to believe on this one. I kind of believe they are the ballons, but then again, I dont really know. They look, different than most ballons Ive seen in the sky. Im not sure if somehow a reflection/refraction of light from the sun makes them "shine" in the picture? The "ufo's" dont really look like those yellow ballons another user has posted. I just dont really know what to believe on this one. I hear there have been sightings in many places today, but I havent really looked into those ones.

Could someone share the link/article about the ballons being released prior to the sightings? Also, the picture with a single object in it, and someone says its photoshopped, could I see the article/link saying someone photoshopped that picture?

I wonder if this is a blue beam type thing, why? all images show luminous objects, most images show shimmery objects with hard to define edges & possible transparency, so that makes me think of holograms. Perhaps it was a test run.

just a thought...

here is a link about the balloon release :www.theepochtimes.com...

here is a link to jason diamonds picture on a news site www.nypost.com...

here is a link to jason diamonds twitter, take note of his tweets, he is involved in digital production. twitter.com...

i think this is also a link to a jason diamond site but not absolutely certain its the same one
videoediting.digitalmedianet.com...

i cannot prove his picture is fake as i dont have access to the original with exif data but i think its obvious this guy is not some random picture taker!.

Hmmm. After thinking about it for awhile, it looks possible that the ballons were released "clumped" together, instead of individually? One article said the "ufos" looked jellyfish like. That would explain the multiple strings hanging down. I cant really think of the best words to use to describe what Im trying to say, but it makes sense to me. Maybe after I get some sleep ill be able to type better.
