what i mean,by opening the doors to the lunatic asylum,in terms of facebook,is you get the trolls in force,people who say things just for the sake of saying something,with no knowlenge on what there commenting on,and bring nothing to the table for all of us to digest,the amount of people who just comment now without even reading the thread beyound the OP post.

and lets be honest,the reason most of us are here,is because we think outside the box,and we want answers,and we bring a reasonable amount of intelligence with it,and relay our sources and data from our research and get opinion's from others and all bring our reseach together....

but now its gone bezerk,i've had this site bookmarked for like 4 years now,and joined over 2 years ago,but since ATS joined facebook,we are all flooded with pointless comments,and threads.

and lets be fair most facebook users are mentally challenged,you only have to see half the status's on there


and has anyone else notice we seem to have a tight gang of 9/11 debunkers in the last 6 mths who jump in force on any thread concerning 9/11,like there sat there all day and night waiting for a 9/11 topic to start so they can annihilate it,and flood it with off topic nonsense...?? (though i slip that in)

Time3Lord and IntastellaBurst are right. The corruption of the ATS is now complete. Considering the vast amount of posts covering pure unsubstantiated nonsense, there to support a adolescent "facebok" generation, we few remaining critical readers should feel lucky we are not sucked into this chaos and fake UFOmania. The real UFOlogists and conspiracy theorists have long ago moved on to better forums then this kindergarden-infested site.

Alot of good responses to a good thread, but even in this thread I have noticed the rot creep in.... Why do people insist on attacking others points of view rather than just posting a disagreement and reasons for disagreement?

What has happened to people treating each other as they themselves wish to be treated?

Which member do the more established members see as an excellent example of posting ability? Would it be possible for that person to create a posting 101 for us newbies that may not understand the posting etiquette that is hoped for?

It would be great if the senior members would take the responsibility of educating the newbies and the newbies take the responsibility of being able to take constructive criticism.

I know some people hate to use emoticons but they are very useful in adding context to a line of text - "You are totally wrong" can be interpreted many ways, therefore being open to mis interpretation which can lead to a colourful exchange of text, where as "You are totally wrong " denotes a flavour of humor.

I know the last paragraph is like teaching my gran to suck eggs to the older members, but alot of the newer/ younger members may not get it.

Last point - Alot of complaints about how ATS is getting worse, in my opinion ATS is its members therefore its members need to make ATS what they want it to be, and again senior members are on the most respected and therefore should take the lead.

Oh oh oh one last thing - just popped into my head - Wouldn't it be great if people used the "private message" capability of ATS instead of open forum when communication begins to break down?

What I've noticed most in the past year or so, is that more "average people" no longer seem to scoff at the paranormal as quickly, but actually seem to move their thoughts to the next step. i.e. exopolitics, conspiracy theories, etc. These subjects are eating their way into the collective consciousness of the mainstream public. I believe that the pieces are almost all in place for the game to begin.

Agree totally, I have seen ATS go down hill a lot of late, don't even enjoy the website layout anymore, the website layout now is confusing as hell and messy, I think it has lost its purpose and is now to commerical, to many adds, etc.

Used to get some really good posts on here a couple of years back, but not no more... its all off the radar stuff now and lots of BS..

I struggle to find a reason to come on and check whats happening, note a lot of the old time posters like Mike Singh and co, never seem to appear now.

The stories that are thrown up are hyped, sensationalised and in a lot of instances, just crud... perhaps we need to lift the game here mods??

It happens from time to time with natural disasters. Crappy thing is I can feel it but have no idea of when or where

Okay, sorry mate it did seem like a northern accent...

There is an agenda here not primarily with this topic but with mainly conspiracy issues.
Members call another member: stupid or insane and instantly get stars, this is dodgy....

If another member is more educated and experienced on a subject then they tend to shoot them down instead of educating them in a respectful manner.

Every day i come here and see someone say this site is going down hill, I mean enough already

I wish they would just communicate with the Mods and the ATS owners their ideas and dissatisfaction, just help them and help themselves in making this site better for them..

You've hit the nail on the head here my friend, respect.

ATS, like any other organisation, is simply a snap shot of society. You get the full mix of personalities. When one comes along that you don't like, rather than talking it out with civility (dare I say love and compassion), people often resort to the same behavior as that which they do not like. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, or fighting fire with fire, you get my drift?

Since I have been a member here, I have had my fair share of insults hurled at me for topics I have started. It doesn't bother me. Every "troll" I treated with respect and adoration. I sincerely wanted to understand why they have the view they have. For the most part, those "trolls" are now "friends". Imagine that! There are a few exceptions, but I consider them friends in the making.

Your interaction with people is totally under your control. You have the power to decide if someone gets under your skin or not. Use that power wisely, you never know when that "troll" may actually know something of benefit to you. That "troll" may just put a smile on your face one day when you need it most.

As to the "crazy" topics, who's topic isn't "crazy" to someone? We are all mad! Each and everyone of us holds a view that someone somewhere will think is totally off the wall nuts! Who is right and who is wrong?

Time and time again, history has proven that majority does not equal right.

Life is too short. Ignore that which you do not find value in and have fun while you are here. Love each other and play nice. You'll find there are no "Trolls", "Idiots", "Crazies", or anything else in this world but human beings with different views. It is a beautiful thing.

Here is a good example thread if you want to spend some time seeing how a little respect can turn most conversations around.

when i first started coming here in 2007, i believe, conversations weren't as hostile as lately. it was a much more supportive and tolerant message board. the influx of anger is not cool.. .but it seems to mirror the world right now.

That is a very valid point (so many posts on the same event) I myself stick to very little thread making activities, instead adding any experiences or theory I may have to the relevant threads of the time e.g Slayer69's informative works .

I have had 5 UFO sightings, 1 close encounter that I was aware of (by accident), 1 Crypto experience, Unlimited Ghost sightings and evidence, and Dream Predictions. I made my Dream Report thread as an experiment, not a tool for the enforcement of my own or anyone elses beliefs. Yes the religous postings can be as Ranty as the Ranty Rant threads themselves but then that is the nature of the beast and why we have forum Categories. Its like your TV, you choose what you wish to watch and flip channels accordingly.

As for 60,70,80 year olds posting what maybe considered as, "out there".........They have what we do not and it is more than any dictionary or text book, youtube Video or Wiki page will ever offer you...........Wisdom and Experience. If it wasn't for their insight your prrecious lives would be NOUGHT, as we would have hit WW3 in the 70's or even earlier. How do you control the Ego? Wisdom and Experience.
