When looking for evil why not first focus on Mugabe, a currently ruling socialist, instead of Microsoft, from which we are all benefiting?

Why prioritize the relative good and ignore the real evils?

What??

Nobody said their profit should be soley theirs. Of course they should pay taxes but Government doesn't need to waste and spend over 13 trillion dollars and they are still talking about more money for "infrastructure."

They waste and spend and you have to have your head screwed on backwards if you think they have borrowed and spent us into a 13 trillion dollar hole and they still haven't fixed anything and you think that's okay.

Give me a break!

It's because it isn't their money so they waste it when they spend it.

It's like Pelosi spend money on Flowers and put in on the Governments dole. Pelosi is a multi-millionaire!! We're supposed to be in a recession and she couldn't fork over her own money for flowers????

These crooks in Washington pay for everything from Magazine subscriptions to car rentals with other peoples money. This is why so many of them are millionaires.

What people don't understand is that men and women are flawed.and you will never have a socialist utopia. So I say let people spend the money they earn instead of crooked Governments wasting and spending that money.

Again with the personal attacks... I guess power (as a moderator) really lets you do what you want!

My wife does not have Alzheimer's disease. My wife affirms that she never lacked anything in the USSR. She does however say that what was said by the Americans concerning the way the USSR government treated its people, rings eerily true of how the US treats its own people...

Spying, homelessness, health care unattainable by all, government control over the masses via propaganda machines (the MSM), this is all in force today in the US... In the USSR she felt more free, never lacked a thing, never worried about losing her home (which was free BTW), never worried about her next meal killing her or making her fat. She in fact hates going to the US for fear of crime, getting sued for no reason, over sensitivity to "terrorism", and the incredible expensive health care system in the event she would get sick or injured...

There is an expression in Russian that says, "I buy a car with credit now, I will be able to drive until I starve later".

According to Marx, Socialism is a stepping stone to Communism.

According to me, National Socialism, as in Fascism, is exactly what it says it is.

Do you know what is Fascism? Fascism is a difficult political philosophy to explain.
Great article
This is a short introduction to the ideology. I have created a thread about it.

Feeling "oppressed"?

Your idealization of Russia, which is allegedly based on what your wife says, runs contrary to historical fact. Russia lacked the basic goods mentioned in the earlier post. Any Russian will confirm that.

so essentially, you are saying that the NAZI'S put their RED comrades in concentration camps to burn due to a lack of ideological communication.

The NAZI'S biggest political enemy and HITLER'S last hurdle before his dictatorship was the

KPD

I suppose you can distill everything down into idiot portions

I have one

REPUBLICANS ARE SOVIETS BECAUSE THEY BOTH ARE REPRESENTED BY RED!!!

I don't feel oppressed, I feel saddened that a moderator is being reminded of the T&Cs...

The lack of food you speak of was after the fall... The empty fridges and stores are images of the newly "freed" country of Russia.

History belongs to the victor... Who "won" the cold war? You want to talk about history? Look at how they are re-writing history in Texas school books... The best sources are the people who were there and lived there, not the books people research and then write.

I'm telling you from a DIRECT source. I can ask many more if you'd like. My wife calls home everyday, and I travel there at least 2 times a year. To me information like this is more valuable that some book written by a westerner who had an agenda and only learned of the information by paper research and meeting dissidents...

You're not making any sense.

Corporations are amoral and we don't elect Corporations to represent the people.

So if Corporations are paying off politicians it's not the Corporation that's evil but the Politician that we entrust with our lives and children's lives.

So it makes no sense to blame the Corporation because their bottom line is profit and that's what it's supposed to be. Corporations make money.

You seem to give big government and crooked politicians both Democrat and Republican a pass and you try to blame the "evil Corporation."

You`d be surprised at how similar Hitlers rhetoric, strategy and mentality was to that of some of the centuries socialists.

Both Fascism and Socialism are essentially collectivist authoritiarniasm as opposed to individual liberterianism.. Authoritiarians have in common that they want to tell you what to think and do.

The Fall was 1990. A year before, Russia had to ration their meat. Fact.

You're not the only person who knows Russians personally and is well travelled.

FYI: Moderators in Thread Discussion are no longer Moderators in the context of that thread. They yield no special "powers". If you feel unfairly treated, file a post-complaint.

*removed text* but still read 'the god that failed'

freedom won the cold war. and it will need to be won over and over again.

and the texas school books are being rewritten due in large part to ISLAMIC fascism and the heavy hand with which islam is addressed compared to judaism and christianity. exactly NONE of them should be discussed in the first place, imho.

The USSR had already started to fall in 1989. The different regions were starting to rebel and break away thanks to the help of some "unusual western help"...

the us takes your money now and gives to foreign countries who don't even like us . research the us foreign aid output for the last 10 years , it's not easy to find . with a little effort you'll run across it . in the last 10 years they have given away roughly 300 billion dollars in foreign aid . that doesn't seem to bother anyone , but universal healthcare is against everything the us stands for ? lets take care of americans before we fix the rest of the world . the govnmnt. takes your money and you have absolutely no say in what they do with it . if you live in africa and have 10 children you deserve charity , if you live in america and lose your job through no fault of your own you're called a bum .i love america , but it is it's own worst enemy .

Admittedly, I didn't read the article, but I bet I can guess the arguments used there.

Jesus was a big advocate for charity, but did you see him helping the poor with other peoples money? No, of course not. Nor did he advocate government involvement in taking from the rich and giving to the poor.

Jesus was an altruist, not a socialist; too often people confuse the two. The flaw to the argument is that charity, when mandated, is no longer charity at all - it is theft. Jesus was not a thief, nor did he have the Robin Hood syndrome socialists seem to be so fond of.

Right. So the food shortages that began in the 1930s and worsended in the early 80s and peaked in the late 80s were the result of a western conspiracy and have nothing to do with socialism. I see.

Are the famines in North Korea also caused by America?

Well when it seems like we are heading back to the tyranny of those days of Robin Hood, maybe thats why socialist feel an affinity with the man who stole from the corrupt rich to give to the poor peasants. What an awful thing to have done.

I think maybe you would have been more a fan of Dick Turpin en.wikipedia.org...

Denying ignorance should be the first thing we do here, not making sarcastic idiotic remarks... I'm super disappointed that a moderator, who represents the company that they work for, acts in this manner...

Back on topic, NK is indeed partly the US's fault...

The US' paranoia of the world is what caused the rest of the countries to shun NK because "they are different"... But that's for another thread...
