Hi, just wanted to copy this over from a post on why the mobile site disappeared. I also wanted to have it noticed that there are people out there (namely me, and hopefully some others!) that will pay good money for an iphone app / streamlined ad free version of the site.

Yes please get it sorted. Also the mobile site is rather poor I must say and doesn't offer access to all of the site. I would pay a fair amount for an iphone app or a subcription that allows access to an ad-free, streamlined version of the site.

Other than that, decent job. I've always found ATS a little spammy but I appreciate you guys no doubt put a lot of effort it and also I appreciate that you need money to make this little world go round. So cheers

More revisions highlighted in the change log on the opening post. The menu colors have been refined.

Thank you, SO. The menu colors were my only real complaint. I like green...but it makes the sight more "fringe" in appearance, which doesn't help the membership gain credibility.

All in all, ATS 2010 is looking good right now, to me.

Just wanted to say thanks for getting the mobile site back up as it's a godsend when I am working/travelling.

I like the changes to the main site too, but it will be better with the colours toned down.

When I go to here: www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/m.php it works alright though.

I have given it a couple days.

I still hate it.

Probably even more now than ever.

WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY ATS WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHY

I guess theres nothing I can do about it, as this is the only conspiracy forum I liked.

Although, I may start looking for other forums to frequent.

This is getting too mainstream for me.

You guys had a good thing going with this site, but you screwed it all up.

But that is just my HUMBLE opinion, as I cant post what I really feel on here.

I used to spend countless hours on this website, now, I only spend so much time on here. Its just too much on the eyes, and everything is all out of whack. I am ESPECIALLY disappointed with the recent posts.
I mean if anything, I wish you would have kept that page the way it was.
This site is just 'ick' to me now.

Its really too bad. I enjoyed this site more than any other on the internet, till now.

I will try to get used to it, but its not looking good so far for me.

I have a question about the new site layout. With the change of the front page, I noticed that there are the usual top threads, though there is also a spot at the very top for "Top Memeber Pick". It doesn't appear that it is due to flags, so what is the criteria for having a thread as "Top Member Pick"? Is it a secret formula?

I've been away for some time and have just signed on to find a very different look and format. I'm not opposed to change, but I must say something isn't right with the color scheme/font/layout or something as I've only been on a few minutes and my eyes are strained and hurting. I'm going to have to sign off before I've even caught up on what's been going on. Not sure what combinations are the issue, but this was not a problem before.

I've been playing around with the new format for a couple of days and overall it's good, but to quote the legend Columbo "there was just one thing"...

Why remove the colour coding for the forums? The recent posts page has become a little chaotic, the colour schemes helped identify the thread's location. Plus the forum
icons are a little small.

Not a major gripe really, just thought I'd throw it out there. I preferred the previous incarnation, but the overhaul is good.

It is based on flags, but specific to the previous 36 hours.

Of the complaints we received via email, typically from new ATS members, regarding the site design/layout... the different colored headlines in recent posts was the #1 complaint... by a significant margin... the small headlines were a solid #2.

I know it's a significant departure from what you've become accustomed to using, but trust me (and the staff) that once you start using the new page, it's much faster to scan the headlines, even with the increased need to scroll.

Also, many aspects of the design are forward-looking. For example, on larger (or higher resolution) monitors, the small type of the previous "recent posts" page was beginning to be a problem. And with less than 20% of all our users on 1024x768 monitors or smaller, we need to consider design sensibilities typical of denser-pixel displays.

I agree with the posts about the Recent Posts page. I just can't read it.

Possibly because you're attempting to use it via something that's not a mobile device.

So is there any hope to get the old style recent posts as an option in the future? I understand that some people might have not liked it. To me however it was perfect. Quick to read and easy on the eyes. The one and only little thing that bugged me was the alternative substances font color was bit too dark. The new one is really hard to read and slow

This new layout is the worst thing ATS has ever done.

It's so bad that I won't be visiting this site anymore.

Please go back to the old format.

I like change, so all is good, but I have one suggestion about the "Recent Posts" page.

The black-background on hover, over the current thread. It should perhaps only appear if you're hovering over the thread link, not anywhere within the rectangle for a particular thread.

I like to use the mouse wheel to scroll down the recent posts page, and when I do, the black background jumps distractingly from place to place (to stay under the mouse cursor), making it difficult to keep track of where I'm reading down from.

Thanks, keep up the good stuff.

If BTS is "off-topic" discussion, I suppose that means we can't even address the original post in a thread?

Will we get these?

Too bad, don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out, and happy surfing elsewhere.

The rest of us will be here enjoying all of the new stuff, and having a grand old time.

By the way if your digital ego has become so big that you think threatening to leave a site because you don't like the changes actually matters to anyone but you, it is likely a good time to leave the internet all together and get out of the house for a good long time.
