Well it all looks pretty slick. The topics/forums of the threads on the recent posts page are hard for me to distinguish. I really miss the color differentiation.
I find myself just looking at all that white text and feeling lost.
Kind of like when someone types a post and doesn't use correct punctuation or paragraphs.

Overall the change looks really good, if somewhat confusing in spots.

At first... I was feeling the same way also. But as I and the staff used it more and more often, we all eventually discovered it was a better display of the information.

However... since ATS has been dominantly "gray" for so long, a few seem to be having a serious negative reaction to the -- uh -- us of "color" in this regard. I've resurrected an early version that didn't test as well as the green, but still did well. It's a node to the gray origins...

Well this may suprise some, me praising rather than criticising!

I think the new layout is great and the 'Recent Posts' is fantastic, hope it encourages more people to visit BTS occassionally.

And I agree with Springer, ATS can not be a closed community and must continue growing and developing.
The only cautionary note I will add is at what cost though?
ATS can not afford to lose more long and medium term members and their genuine cares and concerns should be listened to and considered.

And I really wish some members who, for various reasons are no longer here, were here.

Still, all in all it's a big thumbs up from me.

I LOVE the Recent Threads page! It looks so classy compared to the old one. I didn't like all the color coding for the forums, myself. VERY pretty and easy to read.

I admit, I like the gray better, with the accent coloring for different forums - but I'm starting to get used to the green as well and it is only the first few threads...

I like that gray for the "recent posts" page, but I think the text for the subject titles will need to get bulked. It seems to get lost?

Ditto. I'm with you and Wookiep on the color preference. Maybe a toggle like the "go light/go dark"?

If anyone uses Opera they could try what I just did. I dragged and dropped the "Recent Posts - ATS Gray" into my Opera browsers address bar, so it is now just like a bookmark...but it is now just a navigation button for me.

Yep - that works in Firefox as well. Good thinking. I now have both options, though I'm leaning toward the green all of a sudden. Lol. Fickle me...

Everything looks cool.

I did notice ATS loads a little slower and I noticed chat didn't work.

I also noticed, and I'm sure its been addressed somewhere, that the Live:real time headlines doesn't work and you can't get to it from recent post page.

I love it, I really do. I think it looks great. When I got the "white page" on a couple of clicks, I rushed to change the batteries in the wireless mouse. lol. I always think it's my end. But it's fine now, so maybe it was the mouse.

I love all the glowing colors as we move around.

It's funny how when we see something new.......for example, when I saw the "recent posts" page....."What! Outrage! It doesn't show which forum the thread's in!......
But it does. It's just in a different place.

I like it. So far, so good.

ETA: Hey! Just made a visit to BTS, er, I mean off-topics. Stars are enabled!

Seriously, I don't care what it looks like as long as it works, and it does now.

Everything else works fine.

Personally. I think it looks like a page from Walt Disneys website.
It does not have that conspiracy feel to it at all.
Its too flashy.
ATS is better than that, and that past has proven it.
ATS never needed flashy annoying colors to gain membership.
THE CONTENT brings people here, not flash.

I really, really hate what you guys did to this site.

My eyes to seem to like the gray more for the recent posts page, but that's probably because I've been staring at the gray one for two years now.

I'm sure with a little time and some active posting I'll be use to it in no time.

Question..

I'm seeing quite a lot of adds since the new changes started to take affect. Ads where there previously were not.

I'm wondering if us members who have worked (contributed, obviously not the only reason for participating..) to get rid of the ads are going to have to deal with them from now on, or if this is just temporary until things get finalized?

Not that it's really that bothersome or anything, but it was nice that we had that little perk so we saw less ads. I always saw them on the Home Page, which was normal, but now I'm seeing them in side threads and on the Recent Posts page, pretty much everywhere.
