Don't suggest such things as deleting it, the replies from people like yourself, silicis n volvo and 12gaugepermissionslip for summarising it perfectly with

After reading through 8 pages of posts, it seems that dreamwalker wanted to rant about social programs, then after he was torched, he revised his position to wanting to bring the attention to just the ones milking the system. (FAIL) Then he wants intelligent debate with facts. Classic.

Had me in stitches with the wit and said it much better than me, brightened up my day

I don't REALLY want it deleted. I just really dislike people using other's work as their own, and then collecting unearned flags and stars from the drive-by morons who think like they do.

I enjoy threads like this a LOT more than my arguments in a Holocaust denial thread the other day. The deniers and haters brought me withing a post or two of being physically ill. Disgusting.

But, ripping on a dumb premise is awesome.

Yes, you're correct, children don't willingly take advantage of the system.

But why should that matter?

The OP has a point - we're not saying "F**k you, live in the streets*, those of us who STRONGLY!!!!! agree with the premise of the OP are saying "just say thank you"

thats it.

We don't care if you are taking advantage of it, or genuinely need it, either because you didnt prepare for retirement, or whatever the case may be.

if you're on these systems, you owe the OP and the rest of hard-working-America a thank you and an im sorry.

Good GOD! I had having such a bad day today, and honestly to god, after reading this, i feel like throwing a party.

Great Post! S&F x 10

edit to add:

it doesn't matter why you got into the situation you're in. The programs are there to help you out, regardless if you deserve it or not, but you should be saying "THANK YOU" to the rest of us who work our asses off to provide the resources for that system to exist.

I do require a Thank You...not that ill ever get it. But the OP is damned right, we are doing our American duty by paying taxes. If you aren't, and you're still reaping the benefits, show some damned respect.

does not use federal funded phones
lets move on to State funded stuff this guy is trying to convince us that he never uses.

he paid federal taxes every year, pays his own electric bill, and water bills, pays property taxes on the land and house he lives in. he pays gas tax both state and federal, pays sales tax on his purchases, ect, ect, ad infinitum. I would argue that he has paid his fair share and then some, and I would ask that you compare his contributions to that of someone in public housing, using foodstamps, and on the dole. Sorry but that infastructure arguement in inane, and quite easily refuted.

You deserve a special thank you.

It's because of the hard work of people like yourself that the patriot act was possible, and everything that hinges on it.

All I'm saying is that, if you are going to milk me year after year, an occasional, "Thank You, and I'm Sorry" would make me feel better about getting robbed.

Why are you posting this here? Shouldn't this be sent to your congressman? or local representative? Perhaps the IRS?

I highly doubt anyone here is going to pat you on the back.

You apparently have enough family members to continue to stand in a circle and, *cough, "pat" each other on the back while not seeking to better the controlling factors to your perceived predicament nor place blame appropriately...

your not a Hero...

your a Number.

Let me start by saying to everyone DO NOT thank them or me.

I was fortunate enough to be born with a silver spoon in my ass. My parents were wealthyish, My Father was a Doctor and my Mother was the owner of four Spa's. they died when I was fifteen so lucky me got the house the money and the whole nine yards and a paid for Uni education.

Not everyone comes from my background and they must struggle and strive to even put a morsel of food on the table. They encounter misfortune and people form judgments about people before they have even been given the chance to get a grip of life.

You OP say these people should thank you. I say they should tell you to **** off because you are taking up a job that one of them could do so in the present climate you are THE competition.

Another point is that YOU did NOT choose to help them. Its a by product of being a citizen of a country that sets aside welfare for people during harsh times. A portion of your money gets put aside to cover for this emergency.
YOU have nothing to do with it so do not sit there and take credit for something you NEVER did out of your own free will.

People like you want praise because you are a small fry and sit their getting all annoyed that others who do not currently have a job get "free" money.

I am glad that you feel they owe you something for the reason why I would be glad if someone found you in need of a blood transfusion and gladly gave you the blood that has been donated by someone with a kind heart and then turn up at your beside and berate you for being a needy worthless person.

So what I say to you and people like you who want thanks is kiss my ass. NO one should thank you because you have done nothing. Maybe the really rich should come and knock on your door and ask for thanks as they contribute more than you to society. I pay more tax than you probably so you should thank me for taking some of the burden of your "oh so worthy self"

If anything you should feel proud that you can contribute something to society beside that dogs ass attitude.

Its easy to sit aloft and high when things are going so well for you. But the challenge is surviving when you life is in the toilet and you have to go cap in hand to the welfare idiot and ask for money. Granted there are some really lazy redneck mullet wearers who are pure lazy but hey, they are endowed with excessive ugliness at birth and silly hair cuts so it all evens out.

Life is too short to worry about a few cents here and there. there are plenty of sites on the internet where you don't have to pay for your man-o-man porn like, You porn and Xvideos so don't get all bent out of shape.

Another thing i think is that you are the one on welfare and want people to think that you are some kind of Welfare messiah for coming to save the day. Look my friend if you are that needy grab yourself a McD's app and brush up on your burger tossing insteadof your man-o-man salad tossing.

If the system was not as corrupt as it is there would be no need for all these taxes on the hard working individuals.

Take healthcare for example. It is totally artificial the cost, just because you have to bee 100 times licensed to do a single thing in the field. Just imagine the possibility of buying any medicine OTC, or getting diagnosed by a doctor who charges you normal work fees of 20 dollars an hour. They exist if it was made possible.

I don't expect anything from people who use public assistance. That's what it's there for.

I think you should be more concerned about CORPORATE welfare, especially subsidies that prop up the corn and fuel industries. While Republicans are out there trying to get you to hate single moms on welfare, they're funneling YOUR tax dollars to their buddies in big oil and big corn.

WAKE UP and stop demonizing your neighbors when you know who the real demons are!

Enough with the sanctimonious hogwash.

Social Programs do NOT come from your pockets. The money that comes from your pockets goes toward the INTEREST on the Federal "Debt". All that Social Program money is created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve Bank, which has yet to be audited. I remember the first time "Trillion" was used in connection with the Federal Debt. It wasn't long enough ago that we should be hearing of Trillion-dollar deficits yet. Yet here we are.

You "Americans" get exactly the government you deserve. (but, to be fair, everyone gets the government they deserve) You are enslaved because you seek to place yourselves before others. The great beauty of it is that you do it all with your own hand; every time you sign a death-pledge (the true meaning of the word "mortgage"), every time you buy another piece of crap at Wal-Mart, every time you fuel up at BP, every time you vote for "the lesser of two evils", every time you fill out forms to consent to pay a tax, the law which creates the obligation to pay NO AGENT of the IRS will ever show you because it doesn't exist.

He who does not consent to being enslaved becomes free. But that's such a big responsibility that most of us can't take that stance.

To quote Robert Menard, "When I hear you all complaining, I don't hear free citizens aggrieved with their government, I hear employees bit@hing about their employer."

Very proud of my friends on this site. Though you seem a little high strung for coffee, we may want to consider beer instead. Very quick to determine me a liar regarding my past. Have you ever considered discussing your psychic abilities on this site?

I really only care enough about this thread to say I don't care.

But really people, 10 pages for this nonsensical request and blatant display of unwarranted self-importance for someone who says nonsensical things and displays acts of unwarranted self-importance all the time?

Really?

Thank you! As a disabled American veteran, I receive a disability check that comes from your taxes. My medical care is also paid for by your taxes. I am now applying for social security as I am no longer able to work. Although I have paid heavily into that system, I know that your tax dollars are the supply that allows me to have groceries and keep a roof over my head. I'm sorry that our government has let this economy get to the point where I and others like me have to live off the hard work of others.

To all the US tax payers; I offer my sincere thanks and deepest gratitude.

I applaud and praise you for your service. As discussed earlier, this post wasn't about you, it was about those that disregard your service disregard hard work and look for the "free ride" even though they are fare from disabled in any way. I applaud you. Please read the post carefully. Because those who disagree with my true post, spit on you for your service. I never will, nor will I negatively address anyone who serves our country in any way. Just those who laugh at those that work. Because we are apparently idiots for supporting society in any way.
