Ecclesiastes 9:4,5 "The dead know not anything" because they no longer exist.

What does fire do? It destroys completely. Everlasting destruction.

Revelation 20: 12-15 Death and hell are destroyed in the lake of fire.

God created creatures with freewill that could choose to disobey.

Ultimately, God knew His creations would not fail. We can choose to serve Him.

We can choose everlasting life.

If Adam had chosen to obey, our understanding of God and the Universe would be different than it is today.

Would you get bored with eternal life on earth?

How about a unified understanding of physics? We would know what "dark energy" and "dark matter" are.

How about having the time?

By the time people get good at something or really start to understand something, they get old, and their body fails.

Why is the universe so big? Is it needed so earth could exist, or will we explore other planets?

God would personally answer your questions. Isaiah 65:24

Don't blame it on the knowledge. Knowledge it's knowledge, it is not bad or good, it is the way we use it that counts. So again, ignorant people that outnumber the people with knowledge, use the knowledge in a destructive way so that may gain power, money, respect etc.
For example we can take the atomic bomb. It is a great source for energy production, but ignorant people decided to use it as a bomb.

"We can choose to serve him". blind faith again. Don't you want to serve me too? You could be my minion. This is another demonstration of human ignorance.
With this type of ignorance, it's very easy for governments to control you and if they control more people ignorant like you, they can create this miserable society. So an Utopia can and will exist after people will stop being so ignorant.

What if it isn't even possible to create an entire species with only TWO specimens? Would even the most die hard fundamentalist wacko agree that (the alleged) Adam and Eve were HUMANS? How would the physical-genetic effects of INBREEDING be any different among HUMANS thousands of years ago than they are today? How would they NOT have bred themselves out of existence within, say, a very few genrations (at most) if all they knew was f-ing INCEST???!!!

Exactly, I stated that we are often incapable of responsibly utilizing our technology and that I would choose "progress" instead of "bliss". No, knowledge is not evil.

Just like the saying goes "Guns don't kill people. People kill people"

I'm not too aware of the whole story surrounding the garden of eden, but my take is that eating of the fruit of knowledge was simply being self-aware to the extent that they could discern right from wrong. Following this logic, if this never occurred, we'd be immoral beasts unable to properly judge our actions. We'd simply do as we please, and probably would never have developed much of anything technology wise. Basically, we'd still be apes/monkeys.

What came first, the ability to speak, or the ability to interpret err?

Good post indeed.
It's logic that there was some incest in the beginning of humankind.
Even in genesis Lot and his daughters in mentioned. The 2 daughters slept with their father so their kind would not perish. But in the bible also, Jesus says that from now on, we must not marry in the family, we must from now on to breed with humans from all over the world. And as a fact, having sexual relations with family members, will result in an mutant child.
But even today, there are groups like the gypsies that still marry and have kids within the same family members, so that their "magical powers and knowledge" as they say, will remain in the family.

Funny you mention this, I brought this point to the attention of a believer and the response I got was "With God's help, people would not get the diseases related to incest"

Just thought it was funny to make him say God helped humans commit incest without negative repercussions. I get a lot of laughs here in the bible belt.

The type of technology we have today is "retarded" only to a very very small degree it does help us. The human body was perfectly designed to do some basic things like eating, thinking, running, fighting( it is not evil to fight) etc. The basics must be developed, but with the technology we have, we are headed to involution.
"they could discern right from wrong" what right and wrong are you talking about? it was wrong to eat or not to eat?

) indeed
many ignorants ask why does god let these bad things happen, and the only question i have for them is : what are you doing to stop these things from happening? The power is in you ( as stereotypical this may sound), but try do change something and stop waiting for someone else to do it for you.

Dude, just read the genesis, the story of Lot and his daughters is right there, and there is a genealogical tree starting from adam and eve, with all the information regarding their family relationship(daughter, mother, son, father, aunt etc).
And use some simple logic: 2 humans on earth, 1 man and 1 female, how can they establish a 100 persons tribe?

You've managed to make two posts responding to me that have nothing to do with what I wrote.

What is wrong with you?

Are you "mentally challenged"?
In the first post i asked you what right and wrong did they discern? What was wrong? to eat the fruit or what?
What's wrong with you?

You're not worth my time. If you can't understand that the bible is filled with allegories and metaphors, you're obviously not too bright . .

I've dealt with people who claim there's no right or wrong before, they are . . rather disgusting, imo. Take your narcissism somewhere else. I don't need it.

"I'm not too aware of the whole story surrounding the garden of eden"
not aware= not having or not showing knowledge or not understanding or not realization or not perception

This is what you said. You admit that you do not know what you are talking about.Did you even read the bible?

And i am narcissist? Are you retarded?(retard - cause to move more slowly or operate at a slower rate)
narcissism=self-love: an exceptional interest in and admiration for yourself

Well, isn't this sort of attitude to be expected? I mean, the world (especially the world of conspiracy theory) is teeming with pseudo-intellectuals that will readily contradict themselves at the drop of a hat without realizing what they have done. Only feed them when you need a bit of entertainment
heh

Are you a genius?

I test in the gifted range.

Seriously, you're jumping all over the place. It's not worth it to discuss with you. I've seen this display of character before and it's not worth the mindless arguments. You'll not get another response out of me.

Enjoy the site!

I doubt you are in the gifted range
you lack logic.

Hmm, how interesting!

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I would like to hear your opinion on something I am not quite sure of!

Why would God not properly cite the stories as allegories and metaphors? The reason I ask this is because I know many Christians who believe the Bible literal, and I would be surprised they are all mistaken about what God meant!

I hope I did not misinterpret your post! I hope you will explain it further if I did so.

Kind regards
