A dupe is very possible.

I will now list some stupid questions

1. If they had a chance to "blow it up" by raising it too fast, as the built up ice crystals were explosive. Why didn't they do it?

2. Would a "proven faulty" blowout preventer get them off the hook?

3. This one has been haunting me from day one: Of all the rovers down there, isn't there at least one that can go look around? One that is impartial to BP that can see everything they are doing down there?

I haven't been on the cams in a few days. Decided to leave the cams alone for a while. When I got on, I saw that they really aren't showing much at all. No sea floor footage, nothing on the well. Just a lot of more or less useless shots. What's going on?

Old BOP is now on the ship, I think the new BOP is in place ( though I have not seen that (that's what they say)......all is well in BP Land.....unless you happen to catch the violent disturbances still happening from time to time. Ektar posted pics of one from this morning....I will post some pics of a disturbance with big oil blobs below this I caught about an hour ago.....coming from floor around the site.

Uggggh I was going to post a piuc, but I didn't catch it! Sorry.....the water looked brownish and there were oil blobs floating around...

The seafloor is having some serious gas....this is coming directly from the floor, not caused by ROVs....bih bursts of bubbles. The ROVs were doing something, then pulled back.

That's exactly what they want us all to think. Jobs done all good let's pack up and all away home along with the media we would never know any better, would we?
This is going to be a catastrophe. I'm telling you. The predictions I made regarding this area collapsing in on itself after a what I could call an explosion. Wether it be due to a massive blowout of oil or gas or something of a volcanic nature, I'd even go as far as an earthquake. Maybe not today or tomorow but soon. What I think here is that a tsunami and a big one at that will follow but not only effecting those in the vicinity of obvious danger. Remember the december tsunami?

When the pressure is finaly released and is replaced then its strength will diminish and fall in on itself. There is something causing the pressure wether it be due to planetary involvement. Could something be celestial effecting everything going on down here?
I think so.
The sun? The suns recent activity and its expected activity? Mainly on or around 911 when the active area will be facing earth. Spaceweather.com.
Along with what I've already said on my other thread regarding heatwaves and electrical devices effected if one of significant size there's also the global effects geologically. Volcanic regions and increased earthquakes both in frequency and magnitude.
I can go on here into the weather and the flooding globally china and pakistan? Mountain region is??? Melt water from icecaps perhaps? Who knows? I'm in no position for an opinion though because I'm not educated enough to know the difference in cloud types, so take of this what you feel. I haven't meant to scaremonger merely sharing what I think.

I still have concerns......I really believe there is volcanic activity going on down there. I'm always prepared, living in a hurricane zone....but you know, an asteroid could fall on my head tomorrow....who knows. I just try to live for today. I mean, if you really think about it, at any given time, something will happen somewhere.....there are an abundance of catastrophes which could befall man at any given point in time, and we have no control over it. That's why the man made ones tick me off so much.....nature gives us enough to worry about LOL! I watch the cams, yes. because I want to know what's going on.....but I have no idea when or if something could happen. What's funny is, while I'm worrying about the gulf thing, Yellowstone could blow LOL! So.....why bother worrying I guess!

Did I hear correctly, is the BOP just removed going to NASA? I left a talk radio on & that's what I heard as I was waking, so can not be 100% sure. Anyone else?

The 5 story high blow off preventer which malfunctioned this spring in the Gulf of Mexico was brought to the surface around 7 pm Saturday evening. The BOP will be transported to a NASA facility in Louisiana escorted by FBI agents.

NASA and FBI? 137 people on board and its now been found out they never had it properly certified, if no fitting punishments come from this it'll be an absolute tragedy.

Cant see any BOP doon there just now on the feeds, but there is a peice of machinery that says something distribution, cant read it all though.

Any news on the relief wells?

No....haven't heard anything on the relief wells....and they are not showing the new BOP....I have a hunch the cams will be gone soon....

Why would NASA be involved in an issue, in any stage, of certification? Yes. If BP didn't follow that procedure there is a big problem. Why would the feds escort the BOP to NASA?

Can only guess they would escort it so folk like Greenpeace cant nick it, or maybe cos its part of an investigation theyre doing into the whole thing.

I hope we dont lose the cams feeds, I dont fancy having BP voices as the only source for info. What makes you think they'll go?

I have no idea...about NASA....but the feds are making sure that no one tampers with "evidence" (that's what it said).......so they must be thinking a crime was committed and SOMEONE is going to be in BIG trouble. The NASA facility it's at is in Louisiana (didn't know they had one here)....I suspect maybe they had a facility that was large enough to hold it for inspection? The feds are on that BOP like white on rice so BP cannot tamper with it.

I think they will go because they (BP), were ordered by the government to provide the feeds to show the operations. As soon as the relief well is in and the cement is in, BP will say "mission accomplished", meaning no more operations, which releases them from the order to provide feeds. BP never wanted to provide them from the get go and the sooner they get people's eyes off them, the happier they will be.

haunting you? really? I mean, they are BP's rov's right? impartial? like a swiss ROV?

Yes, it would be cool if we had some. but it appears the only ones (we get to see at least) are BP's.

i suppose i must have missed this part, so sorry in advance; but they are merely replacing the BOP?

BP and government scientists believe cement injected into the Macondo well from the top in early August, as well as a seal at the top of the well, will prevent oil from leaking during the blowout preventer switch.
