I would like to point out to a lot of you ATS'rs that use the "well the Europeans came and took the land illegally from the native Americans" argument, There is no definitive proof that the mongoloids ("Native Americans") were the first inhabitants of this continent, therefore that arguement holds no weight. And If, just if, the mongoloids were here first, there was plenty of land and food for the European settlers to live here comfortably. You can not say the same for today. There are minimal jobs, food is getting harder to get (prices) and there isn't a whole lot of land that is available. What say you?

Chill, most of the land is unused. In fact most of the land on this planet is uninhabited. Food prices have much to do with rising energy prices. This can be fixed. Most of the population issues in the U.S have to do with too many people living in large, dense cities. As for jobs, if American companies weren't shipping all the jobs the third world slave labor countries because American's need cheap crap, well we wouldn't have issues now would we?

What about the other problems that come with overpopulation, such as water, power, transportation, etc etc?

The U.S. simply cannot absorb the amount of people coming into this country currently.

Between immigration and the high birth rates of immigrants, projections show our population will grow by 100 million people in the next 40-50 years. That will be the death of this nation.

These are problems of population being concentrated in one area. If that population was spread out over a large area it would not be such an issue.

The nation is going to die? Firstly, the birth rates are simply projected. There may be future events that increase or decrease those rates. Secondly, you assume all of these people are going to stay here.

This lady and her crew should be charged with aiding and abetting.

If I "help" a bankrobber, shouldn't I be charged with a crime? Same goes for her.

A star for your post.

It's very rare now days to find someone, anyone that apologizes for maybe offending someone. I really respect a person that is big enough to be able to do that.

There are many problems, the Gulf Oil Spill is driving me bananas because I see the ramifications that are ahead that perhaps no one else is totally aware of how drastic this is going to affect our planet.

What is happening in Gaza is another heart ache.

What to do?

The only thing at this point we can do is speak out against the evil that an elite handful are instigating and perpetuating.

Now, as far as conspiracies, start researching who is really running the planet and at the top of the food chain.

Hint: Possibly not human and from this density level.

There are even bigger problems than the ones listed above but most people can't even begin to fathom how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Our possible reality would make any of the hollywood movies look lame in comparison.

Evidently you don't live in the U.S. or you are extremely naive. The land that is unused (available) is either uninhabitable, government land or people just can't afford it. I do agree with you that the U.S. shouldn't be shipping jobs elsewhere. The main Point is that these people are BREAKING THE LAW when they could become citizens LEGALLY, they are using up welfare (which btw I can't get because I am white. I meet all the criteria to qualify for it but I don't receive it and there are people of color that are better off than myself in all aspects and they qualify for tons of government assistance) money (so that means that people like me are working to pay for people that are here ILLEGALLY which means THEY BROKE THE LAW, so in essence I am paying for criminals when I am having an extremely hard time to support my own family) and they are contributing to the demise of America. Stats don't lie my friend and most of these law breakers are not law abiding citizens when they reach America, meaning THEY ENTER AMERICA ILLEGALLY AND CONTINUE TO COMMIT CRIMES WHEN IN AMERICA. I think this is where a lot of people hold beef with the Illegals.

Aiding and abetting felons is also a crime. Commiting a crime makes one a criminal. There is nothing else to say on this matter.

You have figures on that?
strangemaps.wordpress.com...
This is the percentage of land owned by the U.S., most of it is owned in the West. The government can sell it. As for people don't being able to afford it-Capitalism right? Don't whine about it. As for uninhabitable land, I can find no figures on that. Considering today's technology and the fact that most of the U.S. is a temperate climate, I highly doubt this is the case.

Can you prove they are using up all the welfare?

I am amazed at some of the responses on this thread. So now it is good to leave food and water for illegals crossing into the US cause you are saving lives by doing so??

I can't help but wonder if that is how people believe, would you feel the same way about jumping in front of a bullet for a bank robber? After all, he is just trying to feed his family and make some money. I think it is safe to say most people would not do that because the bank robber is breaking the law, and so are these illegals who are crossing. Hence the word "ILLEGAL".

I agree they have every right to come here and make a better life for themselves, however there are ways to do it and ways not to do it. Crossing illegally is the way to NOT do it.

It is not rocket science people.

Maybe this will help you understand?

Here is the transcript of a speech given by ex-Colorado Governor Dick Lamn at a population conference in Washington DC in 2004 to consider:

I Have a Plan to Destroy America

I have a secret plan to destroy America. If you believe, as many do, that America is too smug, too white bread, too self-satisfied, too rich, lets destroy America. It is not that hard to do. History shows that nations are more fragile than their citizens think. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and they all fall, and that "an autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide." here is my plan:

1. We must first make America a bilingual-bicultural country. History shows, in my opinion, that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. One scholar, Seymour Martin Lipset, put it this way: The histories of bilingual and bicultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy. Canada, Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon ---- all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with its Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.

2. I would then invent "multiculturalism" and encourage immigrants to maintain their own culture. I would make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal: that there are no cultural differences that are important. I would declare it an article of faith that the black and hispanic dropout rate is only due to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out-of-bounds.

3. We can make the United States a "hispanic Quebec" without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently:

... the apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentrically, and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.

I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with a salad bowl metaphor. It is important to insure that we have various cultural sub-groups living in America reinforcing their differences rather than Americans, emphasizing their similarities.

4. Having done all this, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated - I would add a second underclass, un-assimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% drop out rate from school.

5. I would then get the big foundations and big business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of Victimology. I would get all minorities to think their lack of success was all the fault of the majority - I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.

I find it hilarious the entitlement that most Americans feel they have.

I have taken a few bullets and a couple pieces of shrapnel for this nation, and I still welcome the "illegal" brothers and sisters of ours.

The fact is Americans drain more from our economy than the illegal immigrants. Our government is hundreds of billions, if not trillions of dollars ahead of illegal immigration in terms of financial drain.

I have come to understand that Americans are by far the most fearful, ignorant and lazy people on the planet (if you were to break it down nation by nation). People are afraid to sacrifice for anyone but themselves. People, above all, are afraid to die. Living life in constant fear (which our media does a pretty damn good job of propagating) is not living at all. I would rather starve, dehydrate or die by other means any day of the week with a clear conscience than to bicker and whine over immigration.

The fact is people are greedy and fearful, and they feel they are entitled to something they have not earned. Our country was founded on opportunity, and just because it seems that we are stretching our resources to their limits does not mean that we should close the borders and tuck ourselves into a cacoon.

Personally, I plan on becoming a permanent resident of Central/South America by the time I'm 35. This country, a nation I have sacrificed for and defended is starting to depress me. My experiences from Guatemala on through Peru have led me to believe that people to our South are much more hospitable and humane than we are at this point. What happened to the beacon of financial opportunity, social equality and freedom from prosecution? When times get tough apparently most would rather tuck their tale between their legs and run for safety than to say screw it, we'll find a way.

The main concern of any of this should be the ever-decreasing supply of drinkable groundwater in the U.S., and the world for that matter. Illegal immigration is not going to help or hurt that issue on way or another.

continued:

6. I would establish dual citizenship and promote divided loyalties. I would "Celebrate diversity." "Diversity" is a wonderfully seductive word. It stresses differences rather than commonalities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other-that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse," peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together, and we can take advantage of this myopia. Look at the ancient Greeks. Dorf 's world history tells us:

The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common language and literature; and they worshiped the same gods. All Greece took part in the olympic games in honor of Zeus and all Greeks venerated the shrine of Apollo at Delphi. A common enemy Persia threatened their liberty. Yet, all of these bonds together were not strong enough to overcome two factors . . . (local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions . . .)

If we can put the emphasis on the "pluribus," instead of the "unum," we can balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.

7. Then I would place all these subjects off limits - make it taboo to talk about. I would find a word similar to "heretic" in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like "racist", "xenophobe" that halts argument and conversation. Having made america a bilingual-bicultural country, having established multiculturalism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of "Victimology", I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra - "that because immigration has been good for America, it must always be good." I would make every individual immigrant sympatric and ignore the cumulative impact.

8. Lastly, I would censor Victor Davis Hanson's book "Mexifornia." This book is dangerous - it exposes my plan to destroy America. So please, please - if you feel that America deserves to be destroyed - please, please - don't buy this book! This guy is on to my plan.

"The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the Spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that Spectrum." - Noam Chomsky, American linguist and US Media and Foreign Policy critic.

It sounds like Dick Lamn hit the nail on the head.

However, the question we need to be asking ourselves and members of Congress is:
Why is the plan to destroy America being implemented?

First I am going to apologize but you are an ignoramus. Did you even look at the link you posted? The link you posted showed FEDERAL LAND. Meaning it is for nature parks, millitary installations, forestry, mining and Indian Reservations to name a few. In other words, YOU CAN NOT LIVE THERE.

A far as the welfare go's, Im sure plenty of people on here can agree with me on that. However I can show no proof because I do not work for the welfare agency nor do I work for any government agency but, If I could show proof of that there would be a massive uprising because it is discriminatory. I will tell you one thing, I applied for medical assistance and the interviewer said that I have had to have had a pre existing medical condition (which I have) or one of two other qualifications. Well, I let the interviewer know of my pre existing condition, which I was told would qualify me, I was denied benefits because all of a sudden I needed to meet more than one criteria to qualify. That was after I was told I only needed to fill one criteria. So you tell me...

Listen, I have got a story for you. You think so highly of these peole helping out the illegal aliens? I will tell you something that may shock and disgust you, but I know this to be the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You see, I did my AIT in Fort Sam Houston, Tx. One leave weekend a couple of guys thought they would go to Mexico for that weekend and do whatever you have. Well this is what our unit officer told us: they forgot to bring their military IDS and got Incarcerated down in Mexico, were never given food or water, kept in a dirt floor and fly infested cell with a frikking dirt hole in the center for them to crap and urinate in. The top brass of ft Sam had to go and negotiate their release while the bloddy "RAZA" was calling for these Americans Some as young as 17 to be executed!!!! Did you get that. Now you may say that nobody 17 can serve you're wrong you have a split op in the Army where you can go to Basic in 11th grade go back to school for 12th grade and finish and then go to AIT. I did this, so I know. So those RAZA were calling to Execute minors!!!!! I feel no pity for these turds. Sorry, those people assisting should be put in a van and dumped over to Mexico and left with no ID's and be treated to their hospitality IMO!

You know,i dont think if this is a little bit off topic or anything.I was watcing Tony Bourdain's show the other day.He was eating on a sushi bar on arizona i believe, the chef was an immigrant,of the legal kind, and he was a danm good sushi chef and just wanted to send money to his family back in mexico, some town near the border i think. Then they went to mexico,to this guy's family and their lifestyle changed a whole lot, they now owned a business selling general stuff and make some good money out of it.Back in USA,the chef was doing really good by himself.even while sending some money back to his folks. Thats what immigrants should be, in my opinion.Sadly,a lot of illegal immigrants are beer belly 50 year olds who just want to listen to mariachi with their friends and family, and that makes a big drunk party of 60 people. Whatever the f*ck is going on in Mexico, thats making all these "poor" people(not economically) leave, needs to be dealt with. Stop complaining about a fruit seller on a corner and try to think out of the box. Skip the patriotism and be a little bit more open minded about things like this. Just my opinion of course, feel free to critisize, not berate my opinion. I'm not american or mexican.im venezuelan.
