They are causing some obvious (I believe harmful) changes in our atmosphere whether they are intentional or not.

Well....you believe 'harmful', but there is really no consensus, yet. After all, contrails really behave no differently, and affect the earth's atmosphere no differently than 'regular' cirrus clouds.

IN FACT....once you stop and think, and consider the ENTIRE globe, and lok at just where (and where NOT) many airliners fly, you will realize that contrial formation, due to air trafffic, is very, very limited in scope, compared to the entire world's area.

Now...this needs more explanation:

What I do know is this, and many others have said it; some airliners are not thrusting thick plumes of exhaust into the air and their trails dissipate quickly...

Yes, because, once again....it is all about the levels of humidity, at any given time, and any altitude, as the airplanes fly through the air mass.

But...

... while others are leaving behind plumes so thick it's hard to deny something's up.

NO...easy to "deny something's up" when you understand the science.

There is another aspect, as well, that comes into play in just the last decade or so...it is the engines.

Modern jet engines are always being refined to increase fuel efficiency (fuel is expensive) and reduce emissions and noise pollution, too.

The majority of airplanes currently flying are equipped with this type of engine, versus many years ago when there were still a lot of Boeing 727s, 737-100s and -200s, DC-9s, etc. ALL of those jets I mentioned had a version of the Pratt & Whitney JT-8D turbojet design engine.

The MAJORITY of thrust force from those engines was derived from the exhaust gases' force...they were thirstier on fuel burn, and dirtier and noisier.

Compare to the advent of the modern TurboFAN engine...MOST thrust is derived fromt he big-'ole fan blades in front (the N1) that are really a form of 'ducted fan' design. One way to help stifle exhaust noise, in these engines, is by surrounding the exiting exhaust gas with the 'sleeve' of air that naturally occurs, from the large size N1 cross-section.

ALL of this results in bigger, fluffier contrails...the actual combined temperatures of the gases, mixed with the cooler air from the N1 fan, makes the resulting contrail different than in earlier days, from the much hotter exhaust gases produced from turbojet-style designs.

AND, of course, there is the increase in numbers of flights, overall, that contribute.

IF air travel is adversely affecting our atmosphere?? What to do? Stop flying?

Might as well stop driving cars, too...and trucks...because THEY also pollute...

Really...this entire "chemtrail" hoo-hah reeks of what I mentioned above, and in many other posts on the topic.

Wow. Im still on the fence, but an important point to consider is this: some planes can be seen flying WITHOUT contrails/chemtrails - at all altitudes. Look it up on youtube. What causes contrails then? The shape of the plane? The speed? :s

No.

Altitude, and temperature and humidity factor.

Air too dry, even if it's cold enough? NO contrail. Simple as that.

This provides a good explanation as to why contrails only form on some days and at some altitudes and vary in longevity

Actually took the time to really study the clip this thread is about. It is what I expected, and realize it is a preview only and not about supplying any kind of evidence of proof of their claims. It does start out with the KSLA report, although they don't delve into the actual story. I wonder how they will deal with the numbers claimed in the report, and can't wait to see it.

But to a credibility of the production so far I two questions:
1) Why show celebrities, unless they are experts on the subject?
2) WHY and HOW DID YOU NOT GET HER NAME SPELLED CORRECTLY?

It's Mariel Hemingway, not Meriel Hemmingway.
I hope their little project is better researched than that. It is beyond stupid and more than a little sad.

What, you can't decipher code?

If you conclude that something does not exist simply because you have yet to see absolute proof, I feel like you should realize you could be wrong.
TPTB deny everything that they do not want the public to know about, I find it hard to believe they would hesitate spraying some crap in the atmosphere if they thought it could serve THEM some purpose.

Let me see if I can follow this 'logic'....AO was used in Vietnam, in the 1960s, and therefore IT is being used now, today, being 'sprayed' form passenger airliners at ~30,000 feet altitude? Is this what you are subtly alleging?

Because, by mentioning AO, it sure seems as if you're trying to form some connection between IT, and the so-called "chemtrails". Why else would you mention AO??

BTW, AO is an herbicide, and a defoliant in design (although it DID, of course, prove to be toxic to humans. NOT immediately fatal, though). More of a long-term debilitating effect, and genetic damage.

Perhaps some history on it is in order, for educational purposes:

Seems that just because the US Government initially refused to accept responsibility, nor acknowledge, its toxicity, somehow that amounts to some sort of "vast consporacy" by people who look back on it today.

NOTE, also, in the photos the ALTITUDE above the ground when AO is being 'sprayed'....

From my reading on it, the only chemicals involved, that were administered to "unwilling" or "unwitting" individuals, were introduced by close, physical one-on-one contact. Despicable, yes....but HARDLY 'widespread'.

You didn't hear any big jets going by at low altitude...BECAUSE those contrails, in that video, are formed at HIGH ALTITUDES!! Just as all contrials are formed at HIGH altitudes.

Get it?

If someone looks at those pictures, and thinks that the contrails are low in the sky, then they are in a delusional state of mind, or simply not experienced enough to be able to tell. rational observers, with a lifetime of knowledge behind them CAN tell the difference.

Also, meteorologists and weather reporting venues will note the existence of the contrails (and any OTHER clouds, or atmospheric obscurations) in the issued weatehr reports.

I notice that NONE of the "chemtrail" believers ever bothers to compare actual weather information with these inane youTube videos, and layperson 'observations'.....

Update: Just for fun, I checked out the poster of that YouTuvbe vid up above....name is "TrutherD1" ( ..seems I've seen THAT name mentioned, recently, on another ATS thread, another equally ridiculous topic...what a "funny" coincidence!! ).

SO, as experiment, just for grins and giggles, made attempt to post comment on video. Well, surprise! (Not really)...like MOST of the YT "chemtrail" videos..."Comment Pending Approval" pops up.

Seems the 'true believers' don't want their utter nonsense tripe being sullied by facts, and contributions from people who know better. YuP!! All they want is the 'sheep' to bleat in agreement. Boot-lickers to suckle at their feet. Fantasy world begets fantasy (and denial). Very, very sad and tragic.

Well that would be because it was at high altitude

The only time I have ever heard an aircraft that left a contrail was under exceptional atmospheric conditions, high up in the Scottish Highlands - where the only other sound was a distant stream.
