So what makes your bible correct over the other various fictitious religious tomes around the world?

I'm curious to know why the bible takes precendence over the texts of say, islam, buddhism, judaism, hinduism, egyptian, sumerian, etc.

Why is the bible 'the text' to believe? Is it merely because you believe it to be? Are the billions who do not follow the bible now or previously all wrong?

I'm genuinely curious to know why the bible is "correct" in this aspect as opposed to the countless others who are much older.

I doubt Loken is speaking "for christians" as being the special ones.

Hence: FALSE FLAG! (at the VERY top of his thread)

Chrostianity is just 2nd on the board for most popular religions.

How old are you?

I've been reading your posts lately and I get the feeling
you're 16, 17 yrs old, trying to hype up the conspiracy world
in your own demonic way.

BTW: You're just as "special as I am."

Faith and a whole lot more.

Great post Loken.

If you would bother to compare the Bible to anything else it's obvious.
66 books by 44 authors over a period of more than sixteen hundred
years on three different continents and in ancient times?. Yet they compliment each other without a single contrast, when brought together to form the canon?

When has that occurred before?

Did I forget three different languages?

Really? Just "faith"? No proof, evidence, nothing empirical, nothing of substance? Just your "belief"?

I'm not questioning your faith itself, but I just don't see why you need to preach it to people and expect them to be so easily blinded by the same misinformation and made up tales that you are.

Why the bible? Why not texts from an older time period? Surely they are more "valid" as they're older. Or if not, then why not Scientology or Dudeism, as both of them are newer and surely more accurate.

I find it really hard to see how your "faith" is a valid means to any of us here as a substantiation of the bible predicting the rapture/end of the world.

Well, whenever a group of people with a guilty conscious are coming up with a plausable lie they invariably have similar stories to tell, for a start.

And what, sixteen hundred years is a valid timeframe to make the stories 'accurate'? In these past sixteen hundred years, how many biased revisions, alterations, omissions and additions have been made in order to "keep" the stores sounding the same?

If timelines are your way of validating the accurate and validity of a religious text, then what are you looking at? What's newer and therefore more accurate because of advancements in record keeping? Then surely Scientology or Dudeism is more plausible.

All in all, if one takes every religion that has been and still is around, ALL of them have the same theme and the same principles. The only difference is the people who intrepid them and this is where confusion, war, etc. comes from.

I say all religions pray to the same GOD even if they have multiple gods, there always is the ONE GOD.

I truly hope that the "religious leaders" will climb out of their self righteous throne and pool all their resources together to study and compare each others beliefs, then they'll have an epiphany and shout

"Hang on!!! What you belief and I belief are one and the same, it is only written by different "prophets" with different view points"

Remember, all religious tomes (Judaism, Christianity, Islamic, Buddhism, etc.) have been written by man, who as we all know has limited understanding of the Great Mind.

Like I said, we'll only know once it happens.

No ... There not. There really just not. Tell me about the actual comparisons you've made. Instead of sitting as some judge which you havn't the slightest right.

Compare them yourself.

I have every *right* to judge them; who are you to say I cannot? I'm not bound by any religion, I'm not blinded by sin or evil. I use common sense and reasoning to form my judgements and morals, not some silly ancient text which says I can't eat meat on Friday's.

My usage of Scientology and Dudeism were for the comparison of something more recent being more accurate, in that you chose Christianity because it's more "recent" than say the religions of the ancient egyptians, or the sumerians, etc.

My point was that no religion is accurate, no more so than if i decided to document my daily experiences in the world and attribute the unexplainable phenomena to supernatural occurances.

No, it isn't!

What, one obscure quote with another single line agreeing with it is "enough said" ? That doesn't mean anything.

Sigh. Once again, arguing with someone of a a religious nature only means those of us with common sense lose out.

You can't Judge because no one listens to your blasting off at the mouth.
Your just a puny pathetic little man. Not an insult. A fact. Why would any one listen to your intellectualism? Mankind I'm pretty sure has just about popped a cap in his own ass with recent events. Go judge that. Do'in real good without the creators guidence that's for sure.

common sense lose out.

Common sense? I bet you couldn't even change a flat tire.

Ok, that's not the sort of vindictive, bitter statement I expected to hear from someone who's had the wonderful spirit of Jesus and God in their heart.

I'm not asking you to. I'm merely offering a rebuttle to the statements that the bible is the one true word.

"Popped a cap in his own ass" with recent events? Explain how mankind has sealed its fate. If you want to debate world events in regards to mankind acting on its own accord or with the influence of religion, I'm happy to do so. And expect the outcome of the argument would either be 50/50 or slightly more in your favour of religion being the cause of our supposed ass-cap-popping.

Go judge that. Do'in real good without the creators guidence that's for sure.

Sure, that makes a lot of sense

Would you play at words with me? You keep using this word religion.
That's not in any of my posts ever. Unless it's to rebuke someone making the same mistake you are making now.

What makes you think the rapture is going to take place at all? Seems to me the verse usually used as the basis for the rapture wasn't even written by the same author and definitely isn't in the book of Revelations.

So this thread is already based on vague Biblical prophecies and scriptures and now you're gonna bring aliens in to it?

I just don't see the connection.

Stop destroying the fundies' fantasy world! Let them feel like Peter pan
