Silo, was thinking of you today, just finsihed reading the 3 book series of the Hunger Games by Suzzane Collins, really thought it reminded me of your style of writing. Even Stephen King couldnt put her books down.

Have not been on much but felt I needed to come and found this thread.

Shouldn't you be getting your animals covered etc? Time is about right for Etna's next stomp!
Quietly hoping that by saying this I'll jinx her and it will be a no show......well, maybe a couple of cigarette puffs, with a couple of black tram lines with a pyramid in the background....as long as she doesn't manifest that crazy fire lady!

Hi All - I've been having a horrible problem with my ISP. They refuse to fix my connection - The only reason I could be kept from this thread. No foolin'.

Thank you everyone who's keeping things up to date! Wonderful stuff! I love the smoke rings!

This morning there was a BOOM somewhere around 0630 - I was outside (of course) but that's all I heard, just one KA-POW.

A few minutes ago (14:35 or somewhere abouts) I heard another HUGE boom (WOW LOUD) but I really can't see what's going on on her top - it's overcast.

It's also really bloomin' hot and that seems to be when she grumbles along.

Added Note: If I'm not here it's not because the natives are ready to chuck me into the lava mouth, it's my computer.

Keep your eyes on the web-cams if something happens. Maybe you'll see me tossing someone from Telecom Italia into Etna!

At Etna, things seem to be gradually gearing up for eruptive episode (paroxysm) number 11 of this year – there have been a few puffs of ash this morning (it seems a small landslide occurred on the inner crater wall), and small explosions seem to be going on, accompanied by a slightly hesitating rise in the volcanic tremor amplitude.

To see more frequent volcanic tremor updates for Etna, just reload the page every five minutes or so – it automatically reloads every 30 minutes, but the graph is updated much more frequently, so manual reload does help :-D"

Yes, that is the way she 'feels' at the moment. I have all my plastic tarps in place,etc, for preventative measures, but Etna has fooled us before! We shall see!

She made another 'belch' a moment ago, but, far be it from me to report that! She is a Lady!

She has been up and down all week. I thought she was about to go earlier today as everything started to rise but after 30 minutes it all dropped again. I will do some charts later once I am at home. Very many tiny earth movements today and yesterday.

She is just reminding us She is still here.
