Well no president can "spend" money. Congress does. The president can only ask for money from congress. And you ask where were the conservatives when bush was spending all the money on the Iraq fiasco. Well, i was screaming just as loud then. No one is saying healthcare is perfect and doesn't need some work. What I am saying is that we can't afford to do it this way. We are broke.

BTW, you are dead wrong about Clinton and his "budget surpluses". ONE year he stayed within that years proposed budget. There was still debt. This from someone who worked on his election campaign.

Note to Mods:Really? This thread is calling people stupid in the freakin title. I thought there was going to be a zero tolerance policy on this sort of thing here? If it was a conservative calling libs stupid in the title of a thread, that member would be banned so fast his head would spin. Little wonder why i went from loggin in every day to monthly if even that.

Why do people think that the housing debunkle was strictly based upon interest rates? That may have been one factor but I personally think that the price of fuel climbing to a high of nearly 400% had more of an impact than anything else.

If someones monthly fuel bill was already $400 and then it hit $1,600....that's a hell of a lot more than a 1% or 2% hit in interest.

Ya, but this is CNN. I'm surprised that so many people would be against it on one of their polls.

I dont see how the government can afford $100 billion a year for health care when the country is in a recession right now

New Health Care Bill will cost about $100 billion a year. This is about the yearly cost of the Iraq War.

It should be illegal for representatives to accept bribes for their votes....
They shouldve passed that bill instead of the health care bill

Theyre not representing us/the public!!!!!!!
They represent who pays them the most money!!!!!!

Obama is a new world order puppet that wants to take away all your freedoms and destroy this nation's wealth so it's easier to control. Bush did the same thing. So I agree, don't get mad about this. Let's figure out a way to resist this and just let this system die on it's own. We need to be thinking along the same lines as this kid in Alaska that is kicking new world order tail all over the place. I think we can do something very similar to what he is already doing in Fairbanks and eventually let it encompass health care and even our own silver based system for letting the Federal Reserve system go bye bye! I love this kid's attitude. He's like a modern day Huckleberry Finn or something. He says, let them do a bailout every week! Meanwhile while their system is dying, we are building our own court system, and militia etc. He's right, you can't fight this system in court or anything like that so let's just LET IT DIE and meanwhile we build a system like our founding fathers used. We can do this type of a system. It's already been tested in Alaska and it's growing every day! This is a truly inspiring video that shows the TRUE American spirit!

WHY WEREN'T YOU THIS UPSET WHEN BUSH AND CHENEY WERE GOING THROUGH OUR MONEY LIKE DRUNKEN SAILORS ON SHORE LEAVE???

Do you even know any conservatives? If you do, then you should know that conservatives WERE upset.

Here's another question for all of you GENIUSES out there: Remember those really EVIL variable rate mortgages that were given out to people who couldn't afford to pay them once the rate 'varied'??? You know, the financial instruments that caused the housing market to collapse, put MILLIONS of Americans out of work, and had the Wall Street Banksters getting bailed out by us taxpayers??? Why are those frakkin' things still legal??? Why hasn't ANYONE from EITHER side of the aisle proposed legislation to make those wretched things ILLEGAL???

Actually, Bush tried to do something about it, but was shut down by the dems who created that mess.

I'll tell you why, because ALL politicians, whether they have a (D) or an (R) after there names work for the same people, THE SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS!!!

No argument on this point.

You say you don't state your support for either party, but I say you do. Your slant says it all. Kind of like the MSM slant we see day in and day out.

I consider myself a "classical liberal", what most others would consider a "conservative". I have a problem with this health care bill, almost as much as I had a problem with Bush's woes. I wasn't quiet when Bush was spending more money than any President in history and I'm sure not going to stay quiet when Obama is just a continuation of Bush, health care reform or not. I have a problem with this health care bill for several reasons, one being that it forces people to buy health insurance. The second reason being the privacy issues with our health records. The government should not be able to initiate force against anyone, for any reason. If I don't want insurance, I should not be forced to buy insurance. I know how to run my life better than the government knows how to run my life, especially when the government is only there to enforce corporatism. When the government tries to run something, we can rest assured that they will f#@* it up. I mean, just look at the VA health care system. If a system like the VA is what we can look forward to, we are all screwed. I hear people all of the time saying that at least this bill will help people, unlike both of our wars that Bush got us into and Obama continued, but this health care bill will not help people, it will only help the health care industry. It is more than obvious that this bill was heavily influenced, if not out-right written by the health care and insurance lobbies.

So, believe me when I say that many of us who are outraged at this health care "reform" bill, were just as much, if not more outraged at the same kind of tyranny applied by Bush. We were not quiet then and we sure aren't going to be quiet now. If anything, it is the left who is being hypocritical. They were so angry at Bush for the wars and his abuses of the Constitution, yet when Obama only continues the wars, escalating one as well as continues Bush's trampling of the Constitution, they still treat him as if he is the second Messiah. For me, the problem is not so much this health care bill, rather it is the system that allows this health care bill as well as Bush's implementation of corporatism to take place.
