I do find it strange that the website www.vsi.esdm.go.id/ (Pusat Vulkanologi & Mitigasi Bencana Geologi - VSI - Home) is inaccessable. But why would UPI and other news agencies put out a story like this, and why can't I or anyone else find a concrete verifiable source other than the MSM outlets? I humbly defer to the better judgement of fellow ATS members.

2012 is a load of codwobblers anyway, sports day used to pee me off and all now i hear is doomsday doomsday whatever!!!
Indeed...but it wont be a load of "cobwobbles" when events like this, and the recent earthquake events keep happening. It's already becoming obvious isn't it? Can you feel it yet, because you will. Anyone can say all this recent activity is just coincidence, and totally natural...but as these events keep unfolding, and become progressively worse, there will be a point where only someone in total denial still wont accept the truth...but I wonder when this point will be, and will it be too late when people actually start to pay attention to these warnings?

Most intelligent thing anyone has said around ats in a long time. It's only a matter of time, but before nature makes it obvious, the economy will fail, and at least 1 new war will break out. They need to keep people occupied so the natural disasters go unnoticed for as long as possible, to avoid mass panic. Everyone will tell me I'm wrong right now, but tell me I'm wrong in 18 months time.

OK so you claim that the end is very near 11/11 to be exact. So.... when that date comes and passes, will you admit you were foolish or will you come up with an excuse and choose another date? My guess . . . the latter.

You can spend all your time and energy crying doom and gloom, or . . . you can do something to improve the world. I choose to be involved and not cry "The sky is falling"

OK So . . . when the date passes will you admit you were foolish? I challenge you to add the word Gullible to your avatar when the date passes. If I am wrong, then I will be dead in a volcano or earthquake or other such cataclysmic event. If I am right you eat humble pie. Seems to me you get the better deal.

You know, for all you 2012 doomsday skeptics, do you ever really wonder why the year 2012 is so popular? Do you really think its all just made up crap? Who would make it up? Why would they make it up? It's talked about from the ancient mayans, they didn't say it would be a doomsday, but they did mention dec 21st 2012 as something special. Can you really be naive enough to say that they just stopped writing their calendar then? How about the bible, doesn't mention 2012, but certainly describes the events of the end of time, just like they are today. What about all the other ancient things that all seem to coincide with this time era? OR denver airport, georgia guidestones, the seed vault, and the norway spiral(spiral petroglyphs all around the world with scenes of big waves, death and destruction). So maybe 2012 isn't doomsday, but I simply cannot understand how everyone can be in complete denial that nothing will happen what so ever. People wouldn't just make up a random date of dec 21st and call it doomsday. Especially when they would be long dead by then. Something will happen in 2012, doomsday or not, we don't know what, but certainly it won't be nothing.

I will absolutely put whatever you want in my avatar. I will scream from the hilltops that I am wrong about 2012. This is something that I'd really like to be wrong about. But there are too many coincidences for me to say, nah, nothings going to happen, its all bull#. I would love to be wrong, and I hope I am wrong.

2012 is not the "end" of the Mayan calendar. It's the end of one of the cycles of their calendar the same way December 31st is the "end" of our calendar. But even if it was the "end", so what? The "end" has been predicted time and time again and it still has not arrived.

BTW, December 21st is significant to most agricultural civilizations because it is the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. The Maya were no different.

And the bible?

The Hopi?

Denver aiport?

Norway spiral?

Timewave zero?

Sunspot cycle?

The zodiac?

Personally, I'm more interested in a new fissure eruption in Iceland than a lot of volcanoes that aren't erupting in Indonesia

See here is the deal. People have been crying the end of the world for centuries. It is nothing new.

Today we see people with little knowledge of the subject misusing the Mayan calendar as some sort of sign post. The Mayans will tell you that they are happy that you have an interest in their culture, but that you have it all wrong. Their calendar does not spell the end of the world, on the contrary, it simply marks a new beginning. There is no horror when the date changes over. Think of it this way, when your check book runs out of blank checks, does it mean the end of the worlds financial system as we know it? No, you simply get a new checkbook. Please note, that the calendar on your wall also ends on December 31st. and guess what . . . you simply get a new calendar for the new year without there being any cataclysm.

With the Bible people have been portending the end of the world as soon as it first went into print. Even longer in fact. In Every generation you will find people crying doom and gloom. Yes there are bad things in this world, but wouldn't it be far better to simply go about your lives doing the best you can to make the world a better place, than waste your time crying about a doomsday prophecy?

If you have an agenda, and look for signs then you will see them, even if you are misinterpreting the facts. Sure, there are a lot of earthquakes, but there have been quakes since the world first formed. There will be big earthquakes in the future that is certain, but making the leap to assume that it is the end of the world is simply fanaticism.

I will hold you to your promise to adjust your avatar after the date passes. Let it be a sign to those who would cry doom before they think rationally.

As I stated earlier, I will be returning to Indonesia this year and I have no concerns about the end of the world happening while I am there.

You watch too many movies.

The Bible says nothing about when "the end" will occur.
The Hopi did not say anything about 2012. Their calendar did not count years.
Denver airport? 2012? Huh?
Norway spiral. 2012? Huh?
Timewave zero. Zero is a good word for the content to be found there.
Sunspot cycle. 2012? Huh?
Zodiac. 2012? Huh?

I do think rationally, and if I am right, you'll either be dead or sorry you didn't prepare. I have researched this subject to death. I've spent the past two years of my life researching it. And when I see all the changes happening in the world, and humanity turning evil, all the pieces fall into place. So you say they have been talking about the end of time for centuries.... Please tell me a few other dates with as many references like there are to 2012. And don't mention y2k, that was a modern day computer crisis, not the end of the world scenario, there was no ancient history to y2k. So name a few more dates and I will research those.

The zodiac - age of aquarius begins dec 21 2012.

Sunspot cycle --- next maximum begins late 2012 - mid 2013

The bible ---- talks about the second coming of christ, wars, and bad economies, sound like about now?

The norway spiral, if you look up spiral petroglyphs, you'll find they are all over the world, and look just like the norway spiral. They are portrayed with scenes of death and destruction. Just google images spiral petroglyphs.

Denver new world airport, has very weird murals portraying a comming global castastrophe, built at the base of the tallest mountains in the usa, cost nearly 4 billion overbudget. NO one wanted the airport built to begin with.

According to some astrologers we are in the "age of Aquarius" right now. According to others we won't be there until the year 2600.
en.wikipedia.org...

We are currently moving toward the next solar maximum, predicted to be in May of 2013. What does that have to do with December 21, 2012?

Wars are pretty much a constant thing. Economies go up and down. Is Christ showing up soon? Christians like to think so.

The Norway spiral was caused by a Russian missile.

Because russians launch missles all the time when the president of the united states is around. Anyway its pointless arguing, because it will never end. I'm wrong right now, but I might not be wrong soon enough. But I hope I am, and I wish I could look at things the way you do. But I simply can't ignore that many coincidences. Also, the sun is doing very weird things lately, so they can't predict when the next maximum will be, it was supposed to be in 2012, but now, we might not even have a maximum at all. The sun has been quiet a few years longer than they thought as it is. Anyway, I'm not going to argue anymore, takes up too much time.

The missile was tested the day before Obama went to Oslo.

The Sun is not doing anything particularly weird and we are on track for the predicted solar maximum (which is predicted to be less intense than average) in 2013.

JMO, Probably by dec. 21, 2012 most of us will be wishing that it was the end I am sure. For many reasons. Who is to say that nothing will happen that will just make us suffer with pain and we wish it would all end at that very moment...
