I have personally heard this historian's adopted son use the N-Word and heard him refer to the Palestinians as "our Helots".

AFAIK, Israel never really test their nuclear weapons. Triggering mechanism for nuclear weapons are notoriously finicky. They should be tested to ensure the bomb would not blow apart before initiating the fission chain reaction. Otherwise those bombs targetting Europe would turn out to be duds.

So you think all of those 210 French tests, all the brit, Indian and American tests (couldn't be bothered to pull up the numbers) - all those tests on Oz soil.... You don't think a few of them may of been Israeli involvement?

At first, nobody really understood the whole process, and how best to overcome the many very challenging technical and engineering problems of how to build a practical nuclear device.

That was the reason for the huge amount of work carried out on nuclear testing by both the British and Americans in oZ and the Pacific.
But once the whole thing is understood, it only takes one spy to betray all that information and the engineering data to another country.

But it has now progressed much further than even that.
These days, the actual nuclear process is so well understood that computer simulations ALONE can be used to test out various new designs, method of construction, and various new ideas.

The US abandoned underground testing a very long time ago, but we are still seeing newer and much more sophisticated mini and micro nukes, that can be fitted to cruise missiles or used for small scale demolitions such as 9/11.

Israel would not need a huge, expensive, and VERY obvious nuclear test program with multiple actual nuclear test detonations.
All they need would be the plans and engineering data, and more recently all the most recent nuclear simulation software.

As time goes on we will see more and more nations get this technology, but they will achieve it through espionage or stealing and reverse engineering existing warheads. You don't need to do twenty years of nuclear testing these days, the knowledge already exists.

Nuclear bombs are as much as a political tool as a military weapon. They should be verified by a public test detonation in order to serve as a deterrent. Otherwise it's a self-defeating proposition to build one, and not letting anyone know about it.

Now i am not accusing you of being anti-Semitic or racist; in fact i think you are one of the more fair and balanced commentators in threads concerning israel.

Well here is one way you could think of it. Europe has a history of anti-semitism. Israel's government is not ignorant to this. If a rouge party with an anti-israeli agenda were to take power it would make sense for israel to have a preemptive nuclear strike capability, hence the targeting of major european cities. Furthermore the USA China and Russia all have major cities across europe and north and south america targeted for similar reasons. It isn't necessarily because they WANT to nuke those places. It's a protective measure.

Ismael's people are smart, religious and, I believe, a people who want peace with all their neighbors.

But Israelis are not fools. Unfortunately, they are drowned in USA politics and bow down in a sense for the mega-money received. We sit up here comfort and cosy; they sit down there showing protection then the U.S.A. tell's Israel -- take down those might walls. What can they do after their people are continually broken to bits from suicide (Homicide) Bombers?

The EU and European NATO countries have converted their armed forces from armies to extensions of nation-building and aid-distribution organizations. the majority of NATO nations have sent their troops to Afghanistan with orders to fire in force protection mode only. Not to mention that in about twenty years, Europeans will be minorities in their own nations.
The OP presents an unlikely scenario, but if it happens, Israel would be victorious; a sad but necessary outcome.

I dont understand what you think is necessary about it? Apart from that you forget almost every single country has special forces, and a very decent air force outnumbering Israel.With Spain , Italy, France and UK there are about 6 aircraft carriers..A population of about 500 million people, imagine the army with a draft, that might still happen.Every citizen got a letter( me aswell at least over here) that although we are not called apon now, there still is a possibility that might happen in the future and then that is mandatory. I dont think in such a case, or if the Russians might invade that we only shoot back when fired upon..Also not with nuclear weapons which we rely more on becauseour conventional forces are smaller..dream on...
