7 And the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you. Pray to the Lord, that he take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. 8 And the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole, and everyone who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live.” 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on a pole (staff). And if a serpent bit anyone, he would look at the bronze serpent and live.

You do realize that everything you quoted is in the old testament, right? Do you realize that those of us who are "Christians" are no longer required to follow the Mosaic law, although the basic precepts are necessary to society, do not steal, kill, etc.? We are now under the "New covenant", given to us by Yeshua. It is simply, "Do unto others as you would have done to you" and "Love thy neighbor as thyself".

A great many things actually. None of which you would care to hear. It's all well and good to crusade against a perceived evil but when you in the process lose the ability for objectivity your crusade it's self becomes evil......

I see. I'm sorry, I seem to have mistaken you for someone who was interested in having an actual mature discussion. Your intent obviously inclines in another direction. I apologize for the interruption.
I'll leave you to your nonsense and the unfortunate few who allow themselves to get caught up in it.

does this justify witch trials/hunts inquisitions what the church did to the knights templar(the church tied weights to their penis's and dropped them)? what about john wayne gacy he was a christian so was the btk killer and i think jeffery dahmer i'm not sure i think i may be a bit off subject.
so does that just make everything the jews did in the old days to witches, gays, non believers and, the rest ok?
also i don't see how anyone can accuse someone of witchcraft since magic doesn't exist
LOL, I think that title should be called "exposingCatholicism", based on what you chose to copy/paste, it deals with the Catholic church persecuting the Protestant Christians who refused to listen to what the Pope had to say.

I came across this site and thought it'd be good to share since I haven't seen it on here (ATS). I'd love to hear thoughts from Christians, or about how they can justify this.

The Inquisition was a campaign of torture, mutilation, mass murder and destruction of human life perpetrated by xtians. The church increased in power until it had total control over human life, both secular and religious. The Vatican wasn't satisfied with the progress made by regional leaders in rooting out heresy. Pope Innocent III commissioned his own inquisitors who answered directly to him. Their authority was made official in the papal bull of March 25th, 1199.7Innocent declared "anyone who attempted to construe a personal view of god which conflicted with the church dogma must be burned without pity."
One of the torture methods mentioned was "making the victim drink tons of water, while making them swallow pieces of knotted roped, and then yanking the rope out, thus disemboweling the victim"
Not bashing xtians or anything...
