It's so obvious to anyone who is sensible and awake what is going on.
I just wonder how many people are dumb enough to believe the main stream media and the lies coming from our so called leaders.

CNN has no room to complain about conspiracy theorists. They did not fire Lou Dobbs when he started in on the public resurgence of the anti-Obama Birther conspiracy theory. CNN also employed the most publicly known conspiracy theorist around for a couple years, Glenn Beck.

The other day Wolf Blitzer ran a chyron on his show that said "department of jihad?" Echoing the same anti-Obama conspiracy theory from Fox News.

CNN embraces conspiracy theorists when they want to.

Anyone else notice a definite trend in hanging the conspiracy tag on any domestic issues that have arisen as of late? I can feel a distinct push to demonize any conversation or theory that questions the government's version of things... It will be interesting to see if this trend continues

One would *think* maybe someone at CNN would understand that their ratings are going down because their audience gets tired of having what they think labeled as crazy. Well... hopefully CNN continues.

I hate quoting Daily Mail but I found something interesting

blogs.dailymail.com...

CNN's numbers drop 68% in prime to last place

I have been reporting CNN’s bad numbers for some time and now it will be official when the October numbers are in, CNN is in last place behind MSNBC, HLN and you know who.

CNN’s numbers have dropped in half overall (52%) and 68% in prime time comparing October 2008 to 2009, TV by the Numbers reported.

In the 25-54 demographic, CNN dropped 62% overall and by 77% in prime time.

Even the mainstream press is now reporting it.

“The official monthly numbers will be finalized at 4 p.m. Monday and will include results from Friday. CNN executives conceded that will not change the competitive standing for the month. CNN will still be last in prime time,” the New York Times reported.

The excuse?

“The results demonstrate once more the apparent preference of viewers for opinion-oriented shows from the news networks in prime time,” the New York Times reported.

Baloney.

The sneaky opinion — Anderson Cooper’s sneering contempt for conservative protesters — is what people don’t like. Cooper and company try to be stealth but they come of as snide and fake, as if they are trying to hide who they really are.

To soften the blow, the New York Times counted only the 25-54 demographic.

And that we don't need things explained to us as if we are children and we don't appreciate their fear-mongering for the PTB.

Oh well, I better remove "suburban warrior" from my profile before I'm rounded up and perp walked on CNN.

Conspiracy Theorists Are Potential "Suicide Warriors" & Are Mentally Disturbed

Well, now US government has a scientific alibi when a conspiracy theorist or a whistleblower, was found dead.

Conspiracy: more than one person planning to do something

Theory: proposed idea that has not yet been proven

There is nothing crazy, delusional, or shameful about being fully aware that there are powerful people doing things we're not aware of behind the scenes.

There is nothing crazy, delusional, or shameful about asking questions as to what those things might be.

I think the most important thing for most people who are awake to how this game is being played is that they don't let this send you into full on tinfoil hat mode and under the bed you go, hiding from the thought police.

Speak out about what you think is wrong, always, and NEVER give up fighting for truth.

But yes... I agree with the majority of you here that this is going to be ramped up as time moves along and it's a scary trend towards demonizing anyone who does not swallow the turd sandwich the government is feeding us.

if America was on the right track, people would not harbor more and more - as you call them - "conspiracy theories". (Use of this very term suggests an authoritarian, more or less conformist personality type to me).

Obviously the "business as usual" of the American state, its ceaseless wars and its sick rhetoric, its relentless backing of big business against all common human interests has been pretty bad in recent decades, and most of the world looks at America as a world terrorist nation, ready to serve the worst causes.
(I am an expat American, before you jump at me for criticizing from abroad.)

This in spite of America having been and still being a great nation, with unmatched individualism and creativity.

The argument that the internet is the cause is futile - the thing is, if information wants to be free, it will be free. And you cannot stop it.

Maybe there are extremes. and imbalanced people, or some fantastic theories mixed in with the interesting stuff. But we all know that there has been something with America and the modern Western establishment, a series of truths and discoveries and points of view that have so far been covered up by power, conformism and character assasination.

Some of this is exposed the first time big time in our history. Thanks to the Internet. I will tolerate a few nutcrack cases because what is happening here is like whn Gorbachev was heading the Soviet Union.

Yes, all the repressed stuff was starting to come up.

Good for you.

Many in the truther movement are responsible leaders, pilots and engineers.

Transparently this DC shooter story appears to be the composite profile of a deranged individual without any critical thinking ability. There are probably many emotionally charged individuals that might dream up some insane anti government counter conspiracy to explain 911. Here on ATS some posters begin to sound like the Chile peppers doing an Otherside redux.

No genius would try to reach the Pentagon by attacking in a secure area where they are outnumbered by trained guards wearing protective vests.

The choice of linking the truther movement with this story beyond superficially is up to the individual reader. It is equal opportunity interpretation like that of the 9/11 event itself.

Your attack was... sort of genius, in a Terminator kind of way.

Your disdain for ATS and it membership is noted. But your generalisation is nothing more than a sweeping statement.

In your personal opinion you have characterised American society in a why to bestow it with a particular personality affliction. How can you in anyway be qualified to do that?

The Internet is a contributing force towards changing humanity. Even though only about a fifth or quarter of the World's population actually use the internet, it's affects on Western Society are becoming more obvious. With the rouge Internet, you can search right now for "Santa's Workshop documentary" and watch an immensely important documentary about slave labour. If the Internet were not rouge, you would not be able to do that.

Worth repeating.

And again...

'They' must be afraid of something.

Perhaps there is a 'crazy' thread or two that are factual, likely to break MSM sometime soon and CNN are the public interface that will preempt public acceptance of the truth.

Psychological Warfare! This is a preemptive attack to demonise Truthsayers.

A battle for the heart and mind of middle America.

Agreed, they are afraid. They're afraid of our sheer number and the only way to counter the sheer number of American people is to confuse, manipulate and demonize. Not just the people who want to know whats going on but the general American public as a whole. Because, basically "conspiracy theorists" are people that see things that are wrong in their respected country and dare to ask "WHY". As you all know, that the powers that be, don't like people to ask the question of "WHY". This is where the media comes in with their many levels, and in the case of the US, the other point of this triangle of manipulation is a poor education system, with the last point being the systematically drugging of the population.

However, when people start to question authority and start waking up, the media goes into full force smear mode against the population, as this video shows. What this video is, is a warning to those who challenge the norm and to scare those who aren't awake will never challenge the "norm" and they do it all at the same time. I have to admit, there is a sick brilliance to this, but the question is can we as Americans counter this "sick brilliance" with proper tactics of our own. I truly believe that once a major part of our population sees these tactics that is used to enslave us, then we can not only turn things around but also obliterate these egotistical control freaks. Until then we have alot of work to do and don't be surprised if the opposition up their stakes as well too.

Not only does this mean that 110 million Americans (at least one third of Americans want to see a new 9/11 investigation) are walking around as ticking timebombs, it means that probably about 2 billions people of earth are mentally ill as well. But this will create jobs because we have to build hundreds of thousands mental hospitals. This great because I've been unemployed for the last 8 months. Where does a crazy like me sign up?

We can sit here and yuck it up over how full of crap this guy and the mainstream media actually is until our heads turn blue.. The problem is, people actually WATCH that garbage and nod their heads in agreement over every single thing he says and basically everything that comes from that tube that their faces are always planted in. The sheeple take everything that is said on TV as gospel just as they are conditioned to do... Sadly enough, it's not just news but it's sitcoms and reality TV as well. They model their lives after it.

It's sad really and the real question is, HOW do we get a news channel on mainstream TV with OUR people on it that are asking the real questions and addressing the real issues!!!

Its a conspiracy!
They are trying to turn us against each other.
They turn children against their families in school.
They turn Christians against Muslims.
Black against white.
If they can make everybody afraid of each other they have won.
That has been their tactic all along.

All I really wanna say is that THEY DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT US!

Skinhead, deadhead, everybody gone bad
Situation, aggravation, everybody allegation
In the suite, on the news, everybody dog food
Bang bang, shock dead, everybodys gone bad.

Tell me what has become of my rights
Am I invisible because you ignore me?
Your proclamation promised me free liberty, now
I'm tired of bein' the victim of shame
They're throwing me in a class with a bad name
I can't believe this is the land from which I came

Well, the numbers of people watching that garbage are shrinking fast. The TV is quickly and steadily being replaced by the Internet where people are searching for their news and sharing what they find.

The general population is becoming more familiar with the concept that there is grand conspiracy afoot.
