The notion of "This is OURS! Only we can do it" should have been left back at the schoolyard playground.

I am lazy and have not looked too deeply into this story, but I would hazard a guess that the people that made the decision were a bunch of middle aged, WHITE, Coke execs.

Just another case of white people being afraid that they will anger the blacks.

Lets not imagine that "the blacks" demanded this happen because "the whites" were invading their culture.

This is just a poor decision made by overly cautious, cowardly people.

If anything, this decision should piss BLACK people off. Talk about a blow to the pride. First you lose to a buch of whiteboys, THEN the judges hold your hand and tell you that you get a prize too! Ouch!

First off i'm a black guy born in the north and now live in the south. Now you have a slight idea of where i'm coming from.

I've personally been to and seen plenty of step shows. After watching the white girls routine I felt that they brought some diversity to stepping.(No I don't mean color) In my eyes their routine will help raise the bar. I agree with the judges their routine was simply the best.

Now for the other side of the coin. Black people are very very proud. whether you believe it or not blacks as a whole do not have that much in comparison to whites. So when blacks see whites "getting in" their culture they feel the dilution of it will end it so to speak.
Sure we have some services groups college funds grants etc etc. But I ask you what do the whites have that blacks don't? I mean hell we have our own month right? (I've personally never benefitted from it) Well whites have things that you cannot pinpoint.
Things that are unspoken, things that come without saying after years of "winning". They have the "good old boy" system. I'm not going into detail about said system but I'll say this. In American culture being white in most situations will put you 1 step ahead.

I would like to offer you some incite into my world. I am white but far from rich. I don't see the good old boy system working for me.

I've been denied loans, I've not gotten jobs, I've worked hard and gotten laid off anyway. That's just part of life. I just pick myself back up and keep trying.
