And I see by your threads that you are scouring for gay bashing information. There's plenty of that out there. Just look for those who are screaming about freedoms at the top of their lungs. They're usually the ones who are all for freedom and liberty as long as it's THEIR freedom and liberty and not someone else's.

Those are brave words. However I never went to school in the USA. I believe that there is homophobia in schools in the USA. It is very endemic. Again I can teach my kids a number of positive perspectives but I also teach them to assess when they may be totally outnumbered. The US is overwhelmingly homophobic. I am not knocking your country. The UK is the same. Why put vulnerable kids at the potential frontline?

Do you know how much I respect those heterosexual couples who make a sober assessment of the current state of the schools and decide not to adopt or even home school?

Being Canadian, we don't deal with the level of Homophobia in the states I will admit. Same Sex Marriage has been around for a decade now and were' all quite happy with it.

I homeschool my children till 12 and then they make the decision to go private or public.

Nah I think you're overgeneralising there and I was probably guilty in the reverse manner. I don't mean it is hugely accepted but it does seem to be much more tolerated.

Maybe I'm lucky enough to live in a place where it's fine though. But in general in the past 5-10 years I've seen a massive change in attitude in this country.

You'll find bigoted kids everywhere there are bigoted parents. That's how sad it is. The only solution is education in tolerance and this sort of debate sends shivers down my spine. It seems a lot of people are far from ready to accept gay lifestyles as normal lifestyles.

There is no doubt that kids will make fun of other kids who have gay parents.

And you know what? That's the problem.

It's not that the parents are gay, it's the homophobes.

I think that recently the media has done a good job to bring homophobia to a minimal (for the present time) by exposing and documenting gay relationships in mainstream media, therefore bringing more people who are gay to "come out" and in turn more people knowing them (in their families/friends circles) and finding more people in their lives who are gay.

Since a lot of mental illness is genetic, the biological parents had issues, which led them to not be able to keep the child, which led to the adoption. That is why small scale studies are just that, studies and not fact.

Proof that homosexuality is not "normal" behavior...

Put 500 gay men (or gay women) on an isolated island with 500 other gay men (or gay women) = 1,000 gay men (or women)

Give them everything they need to survive and flourish for 100 years...but, they can not leave this island.

Come back in 100 years and see what is there = NOTHING!

Do the exact same thing with 500 heterosexual men and 500 heterosexual women and come back in 100 years and you will have several thousand people.

It is a basic instinct that even animals have = reproduction...and survival...not extinction!

Only humans could mess this up and call it "normal" and "acceptible" behavior

I guess it all makes sense though...one of the main goals of a tyrannical takeover of a society, is to destroy morality. If the line between right and wrong or normal and abnormal behavior is blurred, then how can that society recognize right and wrong or normal or abnormal behavior by the government?
