The Web was studded with praise for Stack almost immediately after his plane slammed into the Austin office complex Thursday morning. The admiring salutes appearing on sites ranging from Facebook to the pages of extremist groups reflect what experts say is an "explosive growth" in the anti-government patriot movement.

"Extremist groups are already aligning behind [Joe Stack], beginning to talk about him as a hero," said Mark Potok, director of the Southern Poverty Law Center which studies American militia and hate groups. "The growth of those groups has been astounding."

wow ok just read the article, on one hand they have a guy on there saying you know joe stack wasnt crazy he was rational and sane and he was just pushed to the edge of no return and then at the end of the article they quote neo-nazis saying that they praise him... why do they lump militias in with hate groups like neo-nazis?? they are so far from the same thing its a downright lie when they lump em together... and of course they had someone from the southern law poverty center...

With all of the fragmented ideas about how or why our country is in such a state of disrepair, perhaps a few more "Joes" could coagulate our distaste for our current government into a worthwhile and possibly productive revolt.

(I have'nt a clue whats going one here other than it seems a desperate American citizen lashed out at his corrupt government.)

and to think, all you have to do is attempt to murder your wife and child, then try to kill some clerks doing their job in a suicide spiral to be considered a hero..

and here I was, like a sucker, considering being a fireman...might as well just set fires and be the peoples hero.

a insane citizen whom got hammered in a audit for not paying his taxes tried to murder his family and random people is what happened.

if thats a movement for a revolution, I will revolt by purchasing a ticket away from the madhouse should this be considered the new hotness.

You know you might want to get your facts straight, this is the third thread you have posted this on after the facts have come out saying his family was gone before he set the flames; good journalism goes a far way, something the MSM needs to learn too.

I wouldn't call him a "hero", but I applaud his efforts and sympathize with his feelings towards what is happening to this country.

What is amazing to me is how people salute the founding fathers for what they did and in the same breath condemn men like Joseph Stack. It's absolute hypocrisy.

Do people not realize the founding fathers fought against their own government? Do people not realize the founding fathers led an armed and violent revolution? Do people not realize the founding fathers too killed innocents to achieve their goals?

The American Revolution was not the United States vs Great Britain. It was the people of Great Britain vs the government of Great Britain, much like these sort of attacks are the people of the United States vs the government of the United States.

"That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government"

Don't abandon your rights just when you begin to need them the most. Armed revolution is the only answer. It may not be the pretty one, the sound one, or the humane one, but the reality is it is the only one.

That is what we're faced with now in this country. The criminals who have bought and sold our country and our future have to answer for what they have done. No one is better able or more deserving to make them answer for it than us.

As far as I see it, everyone has two options: They can continue to support the status quo and thus continue to be robbed of every aspect of the lives they wish to live, or they can fight against the status quo and thus hold on to every aspect of their lives they wish to live.

This is the new reality.

The last report I heard on CNN said that his wife and kid arrived at the house to find it on fire, so he didn't try to kill them. They had stayed the night at a hotel.
Something needs to be done but killing innocent people isn't the way to do it. I understand his frustration with the government, but still haven't figured out if he was more on the left or right, which I hate those terms, the Left or the Right.

The article talked about the militia. The US Militia is our last hope against a government that wants us as their slaves. I agree that Neo Nazis and the militia are totally different groups and should not be grouped together.

It seems that Obama was a great mistake of the TPTB. A "promise" alone cannot hold water. And the growing disappointment in the Promising One is just increasing tensions. Very soon this Great Promise will become a Great Waste. The show itself, the Big Brother show, is spreading across the limits of the stage... The Audience becomes the Actor. And it may become a scenarist too...

Ahh, my bad, I shut the news off after endless hours of the same thing over and over and simply got over it.

Good to know they were safe...sucks that he torched his home...but hey, better homeless than dead I guess.

Still comes to the fact that he attempted to murder innocent people simply doing their 9-5. bury him face down (figure out which ashes are his face), and uninate in the grave. Push some raw sewage in the hole and leave the grave unmarked imo.

and I read the manifesto...I fully agree with everything he said in there...I commend the mans perception...but once your movement turns to murder/suicide (attempted or not), then your life is meaningless.

I wish he never put the manifesto out, because now any serious discussion about his issues is marred with the (attempted) blood of innocents...like talking about purification of our species and new world orders is marred by Hitler.

He did not target innocent people. His motive and his objective was to send a message to the federal government and to the people of this country.

There is a difference between the targeting of innocent people and collateral damage. The US military uses it every time they blow up a school full of children.

He will, inevitably, become one true martyr. And the whole concept of antagonizing "Muslim martyrs" is now being moved inside the US soil. I might not be a very nice thing to live with it. Because, fear from dying, is the strongest weapon of the PTB.

Amen.

Part of that message is "don't work with the terrorists."

The real terrorists in this case being US federal employees. Whether they are aware of it or just ignorant tools. A lot different than bombing a wedding or an elementary school or any of the other atrocious things our military has done in the name of "collateral damage" in the Middle East.

In Virginia, across the river from Federalist Capital called Washington DC, and per the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Virginia, every man between 18 and 45 is a member of the Virginia State Militia.

I noted with some concern when the IRAQ "war" started that it was the State National Guard units that were sent in from the beginning...

Was this done, with intent, to remove from the states, the states last defense against a Federal tyranny?
