I have to say that as I've watched this over and over, I was thinking the same thing.
I'm going to have to watch a few more times to make sure of it, but I think you're right.
I think he may have had one or two, and maybe was even showing off for one of the girls on the bus, by picking on the thug. (for lack of a better term)
Maybe he was just feeling frisky, and looking for a fight. Not too long ago, this was a pretty normal thing for guys to do. Just a man thing I guess, and was pretty much to be expected, at times. Maybe it's just my neck of the woods, but there's still fights, people arm wrestle on the bar, stuff happens, things like that...
But...
I am amazed also at the old guy's ability to miss that handrail with every swing.
Like, 'wow'.

the instigator made first contact, the white guy defended, and once he had the man subdued, walked away


in the court of law this is an open and shut case yet people are still on here talking about racism and they were both in the wrong and blah blah blah


its insane people have the nerve to criticize a 67 year old man after he got attacked on a bus by a clearly ignorant hostile individual

of course the old man is going to act wild and yell, i would to and im a hell of a lot younger then him, its something called adrenaline and its pumping when you get confronted and attacked in that manner


there should be laws against people playing this race card crap, its becoming pandemic, so much so its making the swine flu look underestimated

You are the one seeing the race here. The old guy went to the front of the bus, the young guy went up and hit him, the young guy got a well deserved head smashing once he chose to swing first at a man whom walked away.

As far as the only real racism I seen in the video was by the chick. the other was pretty clear cut...once you throw that first punch, you deserve anything that comes at you.

some may think that making a law against using the race card in a non-applicable situation would be outlandish

but think about it like this

you cant yell fire in a crowded public place

for example, you can be arrested for yelling fire when theres no fire when you're in a crowded movie theatre

As for the story, I think these were two hotheads at the right place at the right time.

Lesson: if your opponent 'walks away' in an attempt to avoid a violent collission, do not follow.

My take is this. Conjecture only. Amba Lampz walks by Epic Beard and gives him that look like you get "you starin at me?" so epic beard who isn't going to back down to anyone says "why don't you spit shine my shoes?" so the thug then says something back and is then baited.

Epic Beard decides to get retarded thug to be the aggressor so Epic can get a bit of justice for all of us.

I get tired of seeing the sheep get preyed upon by the wolves all the time. Forget being PC everyone should grow and and realize we have a problem in our nation and it cant be fixed if it is continually ignored until the pendulum goes to far in the other direction and a race riot happens.

Those of you who think that the white guy was instigating this have it all wrong. What most likely happened in this;

The black man boards the bus and starts heading to the back. As he approaches the white man who is already seated he notices his feet are in the isle and thus in his way. The black man then says "why a brother gotta spit shin your shoes", basically telling the white guy to move his feet. Misinturpreting this, the white guy get up and goes to the back to ask the black man how much to shine his shoes and that's where the video picks up.
Here's what is said while the camera is on:

Black man: …AC Transit
White man: Let’s get back to business. How much you charge me for a spit-shine?
Black man: what?
White man: How much you charge me for my Stacy Adams? I’m going to a funeral on Friday…You said you…
Black man: Did you get what I said just now?
White man: Yes
