I've already got people screwing with my time on the net who needs the government to make it worse? or was I just a test for whats about to happen?
Now I know why all the games are "down for maintenance" until noon 02/07/2010
note: If you are on the net when this happens (if it happens) expect any or all of the following to occur
1) your system will shutdown without your input
2) your system will restart without your input
3)your favorites pages will start coming up while on ATS without your input
So far this is all that thy've hit me with in the past week
Oh if your system is off it may turn on
Now who says the government(corperation) wnats control

I am sure nothing will happen... this is part of the continuing psychological war to wear you down to the point you break under the strain of the constant fear mongering.. something has to snap somewhere along the way.

Caveat: you equals everyone

Do you mean nothing will happen as a result of this drill in terms of government handling, or that nothing will happen in terms of day to day activity. If its the first item then yes the government is ill equipped and ill advised on how to handle a massive attack of this type. If its the latter then you do not understand what this is about.

The U.S. isn’t prepared to respond to an attack on its computer networks that could cripple communications and electrical power systems, a bipartisan group of former government officials said today.

Without new legislation, more public awareness and a greater sense of urgency within government, the country’s computer networks remain vulnerable, the officials said after a tabletop exercise simulating a massive cyber attack.

“We are skating toward a fall,” said Stewart Baker, who was assistant secretary of policy at the Department of Homeland Security under President George W. Bush.

Nothing like overstating the obvious. The question now is what do they do. They can continue to appoint cyber czars until the cows come home but that won't address the problem. This problem won't be solved overnight either but the bickering has persisted for years with little to show for it.

Well that was uneventful (thankfully).

So, anyone know the findings or what moves they're gonna make?

I watched this on CNN last night...and I completely do not understand the reason for this televised brainstorming exercise.
Like a bunch of bad acting, highly publicized as Oscar winning performances.
Were they trying to make us believe their actions were in our best interests?
Why did they chose the Russians for an example?
I see now, why/ how they could really shut the world down at the push of a red button.
I found this odd too..
WE WERE WARNED
hmmm link it.. WW3.
A stretch? perhaps..but I've seen farther...

I mentioned this on another thread, and a few posts later another member linked the exact same link I did, going to the discussion where it is mentioned these cyber exercises have been going on since at least 2006.

It's like my post and thread went completely unnoticed...
Much like how this one probably will.

Here you all go for the sake of trying.

Cyberstorm III & September, 2010

As a last minute note, the above linked thread, was an attempt to display to everyone where the source of these "cyber" exercises originated from.
