On February 16, at about 10:00 am ET, the U.S. will be hit by a massive, crippling cyber attack from an unknown entity

Will it be me since it will be my birthday then I'll finally be 21!

Misleading title. But I suppose it's a great way to get responses.

With the Internet shut down we lose all the US wind power.

99% of the wind turbines in the US are controlled through the Internet.

Some other power plants are also controlled through the Internet.

We need in the US to build a special Internet for critical infrastructure to protect it from attack from outside the US.

The govt. can announce whatever they want. They can say some sort of 'drill' will be done, the # can hit the fan, and then the tptb can claim something went drastically wrong while the 'drill' was going on... they could state:

"While the drill was occurring, the problems we were attempting to find and fix were found by terrorists first and attacked before we had a chance to even do anything about said problems. Please do not use the internet ever again or you will be deemed a terrorist and be sent to Guantanamo Bay. Just to be safe we have shut down all ISP's in the US and we hope our allies do the same thing just to be safe until it is deemed safe to even operate in the interweb once again."

That was my thought exactly. How many times have we seen an "emergency drill" happen the same day as as an "attack?" It happened on 9/11 here in the U.S. It happened on 7/7 in London. And I think, if I remember correctly...it's happened other times, too....

They just want to take our internet from us because we discuss everything they want to hide from us here. If they remove the internet from us, we can`t see what they do and they can control us better. At the very least they want total control over the internets`content and control over the flow of material. They will have central servers owned by Motorola and everything that goes to the internet will first be checked at these central servers and decided whether the content is allowed or disallowed according to the governments approval. Just wait and see. They won`t let us have free discussion like this for very long.

This is interesting, because it could be a prequal to what ahmadinejad might anounce. He did say it's going to be big so I assume this links to it in some way.

False Flag deffiently seems like a huge possibility.

Ironically, it'll be very bad if they do shut it down.. The mass populations in this country that would be seriously miffed about the web being shut off would be the Gamers.

For instance World of Warcraft. There are over 10 million people across the globe who play.. Now some are on Special EU servers, but the rest connect to the states for their game time.

FPS gamers, and other web-based gamers, along with the WOW gamers, would Riot in the streets. It would be a mass SHTF if that came to pass.

Deffeintly would be one way to limit our ability to create or organise a rebuttle to them turning the web off on us.

Considering we have seen many posts here on ATS, and in various Media spots stating that the internet is "Dangerous" for various reasons that TPTB want it gone.

This is a vary plausable possibility that we will end up like North Korea, or Iran, and have little or no internet.

May not be a bad time to start grabbing important documents from the web and saving them on your local computer for future reference.

If anyone wants to do some research into a potential attack vector, look into Sockstress, it's creator Jack C. Louis and his death. Guy died in a house fire in Sweden on March 15 2009, seems a little freakish.

If I was planning on causing havoc this is one of the main attack vectors I would be using. Only a few people should have access to full details of this vulnerability. Even fewer people would be able to rediscover this vulnerability with what few details have been released about it. If something does happen and it seems like this vulnerability was used then I would be very concerned.

Paypal are involved, can't see any obvious references apart that they're big with on-line money and would be affected in a Cyber Attack.

This is what we get for basicaly staking our lives on unstable, insecure machines. Our entire infrastructure depends on Windows based machines. I've been a Windows user for long enough to know the OS isn't even stable enough for reliable home/office use, nevermind for running systems responsable for coordinating things like missiles, food supplies, banking, even nuclear power/weapons.

A cyber attack wouldn't even have to do much apart from delete the NTdetect files of computers on a critical network, I know this because I accidentaly deleted this file once from one of my computers, it completly destroys Windows. Thats just an example of how barbaric & simple an attack could be.

This would again depend on if the intention of the attacker/s was to cripple or gain control. In the event they gained control, they would have access to EVERYTHING, our public records, the records of children & the elderly, medical records, our entire ID's and that's before I even get started on the more horriffic ones.

In the case they gained access to nuclear computers, and those responsable for millitary actions such as launching missiles etc, we've had it. They could hold the whole world to ransom & show proof they mean buisiness by wiping out 'poorer' countries first etc.

I don't think any man will start WWIII, I think a Windows based machine will.

I believe the threat against the NWO has massively increased since the birth of the Internet. I also believe the likes of people here, websites like this and the David Ickes of this world, all utilize the Internet. Now this may be a case of stating the obvious, if so then so be it. But If the Internet is closed/turned off/de-stabilized/censored or any other restrictions imposed for that matter then the threat to the NWO would be substantially reduced.

With the internet and sites like ATS that inform and promote thinking deeply about what is really going on, TPTB don't want that, Good old boy, David Rockefeller plainly states he wants us all to keep our mouths shut and work harder so they can become even richer and more powerful.

Still have music from when Napster was free.

One good 8 gb a hold a lot of your "good stuff" ebooks, music, articles, recipes, pictures, videos........the guy who invented the USB Mass Storage Device is in my book a real rock star.
