VERY GOOD POINT!!

I have read this thread with much enthusiasm and enjoyment. Allthough I disagree with many points stated here within, I am really interested in the different theories mentioned.
The "Peak Oil" issue I disagree with completely. Do some research on AlterNet, Reuters, and a few other sources, take a look at current events, and make an informed opinion.
I also understand the manpower of the militaries position. China has a vastly larger Army then the US, but it doesn't mean they have yet the logistic capacity that the US does. Nor the hardware so to say.
The debt issue. I think myself the Chinese have been in conflict with the Elite for at least the last 40 to 50 years. So I think they are aware of the fait currency, banking, and Stock exchange systems operated globally by said elites.

I am just real curious to see which way this goes.

One thing is evident, Something is gonna POP soon!

The US Dollar is beating up the Euro,Yen and British Pound pretty badly recently.

In fact, looking at the EURO chart, the trend changed in the USD's favor back in November actually.

This has much to do with the recent moves by the US in arming the middle east and Taiwan.

Our military might is what maintains the Dollar. And is why we are constantly flexing our military muscles around the globe.

The rest of the world knows this, and also has seen this before.

The US has been involved with a war or conflict for every decade since WWII.

This is what Eisenhower was referring to as being the Military Industrial Complex. War is big business and is the determining force in US Foreign Policy and is intrinsic to our economy.

The Chinese are backing the Iranians for a reason. They for one are dependent on the Iranians oil.

They also know that the US had previously captured the Iranian's Oil by installing their own US owned government , similar to what we have done in Iraq and Afghanistan. And that the US occupying the borders of Iran wants it's stolen oil back.

Read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman, Perkins.
He describes the corporation and democracy or corporatocracy concept of the Military Industrial Complex.

Here's a short excerpt from the prologue:

That is what we EHMs do best: we build a global empire. We are an elite group of men and women who utilize international financial organizations to foment conditions that make other nations subservient to the corporatocracy running our biggest corporations, our government, and our banks. Like our counterparts in the Mafia, EHMs provide favors. These take the form of loans to develop infrastructure —electric generating plants, highways, ports, airports, or industrial parks. A condition of such loans is that engineering and construction companies from our own country must build all these projects. In essence, most of the money never leaves the United States; it is simply transferred from banking offices in Washington to engineering offices in New York, Houston, or San Francisco. Despite the fact that the money is returned almost immediately to corporations that are members of the corporatocracy (the creditor), the recipient country is required to pay it all back, principal plus interest. If an EHM is completely successful, the loans are so large that the debtor is forced to default on its payments after a few years. When this happens, then like the Mafia we demand our pound of flesh. This often includes one or more of the following: control over United Nations votes, the installation of military bases, or access to precious resources such as oil or the Panama Canal. Of course, the debtor still owes us the money—and another country is added to our global empire.

What is really Hilarious about the Iranian debacle, is the Iranians stance being well aware of how the US operates and the US's MSM controlled fear mongering rhetorical stance that they sell to the US population.

The very same thing that they used to get Iraq's oil.
Create and instill fear amongst the US population to gain support for a war, and using the military, take over the country and all of it's oil.

Profit, Profit and more Profits !

On the contrary....

If Iran did have a "Nuke", what good would it do if they even dared use their weapons against Israel who out gun them at least 10 to 1?

That's why the Iranians are trying to play the game by the rules and use international law in their behalf before they become another Iraq.

Or a massive smoldering hole in the ground.

The rest of the world isn't as blind and ignorant as the American people are and don't buy another fabricated US justification for yet another preemptive war for profit.

What?! China is going to throw away the economic advantage it has built up during the last 10-15 years?

It's well on it's way (through using essentially slave labour to make and sell to us in the West millions of tonnes of crud every year) to becoming pretty much a solitary economic superpower.

I realise they're touchy about Taiwan, but even so.

Ever heard the phrase 'The customer is king'?

Well, we are the customers. If it's not selling to us, because it's potentially warring with us, then it's not selling and we ain't buying!

The ONLY thing besides territory China values, (including human rights, even basic ones) is money.

It's not about to risk complete financial collapse and years / decades of struggle to claw it's way back up the greasy pole of capitalism, over this.

Funny how your "truth" sounds like so much communist rhetoric. You smartly left out the conclusion though, you know how the people should rise up and cast off the shackles of their evil capitalist masters by embracing communism. Would make it too obvious. Yes, the propaganda war is in full swing.

Intresting tidbit from the BBS regarding what the Chinese press are angrly saying, one newspaper makes its feelings very clear

"The US will pay a heavy price if it intends to engage in a new Cold War with China and regards China as an enemy."

That could only happen if some other country much larger than the America loans America all the money to finance this great "new" war.

Obviously that is not going to happen.

America could just print all the money to finance another war, but then hyperinflation would destroy the US.
$25 gasoline,
$1,400 gasoline,
$57,000 per gallon gasoline.

America is in self destruction mode, and NOTHING can stop it now.

I have heard this as well on the Taiwan and China news stations.

One day, when we decide to stop sticking our nose into other people's business, wars will be over.

Honestly, can you really stand here and tell me that this has nothing to do with China reclaiming Taiwan?

Of course the Chinese is not going to be happy about this. They stated several times that in the event when Taiwan decides to become an independent country apart from China, China will respond with full military force.

Now, what do you think is going to happen when we decide to sell Taiwan U.S. military weapons so that they can fight China back?

You can voice your opinion in many different ways, but the truth is, America always acted like the "Big Brother" archetype. It doesn't matter who or which country is having problems, we have to get there and help, whether if they asked for it or not.

All I can agree is one thing, we as in United States of America is getting closer and closer each day, to SHTF.

China has no capability what so ever to project military might. The best they could do was take over peace loving Tibet. They can saber rattle all they want, they aren't going to do anything about arms sales to Taiwan, because they don't have the capability to do anything.

The U.S. has not been borrowing money from China, we have been purchasing large amounts of Chinese goods on credit, which China is happy to give, because they desperately need the U.S. consumer to keep their economy running, and this is even more true today.

The cheap and easy to get high quality crude is running out, and if China has any brains, they know they will be dependent of U.S. oil in the not so distant future. U.S. agriculture could easily produce enough food to feed almost everyone on the planet, and as petroleum based fertilizers become more and more expensive, demand for food will grow tremendously. Then there is the ability of the U.S. to start producing copious quantities of hemp bio-diesel, the odds are even more in our favor.

You think the U.S. dominance is about to end?

Just the opposite, you have us right where we want you.

Stop the hating, open your eyes, and start looking at who is pulling your strings. It is not the U.S., it is the IC's.

So much unbalanced propaganda is accepted as fact it's hard to know where to start.

China is doing relatively well progressing from Third World standards, as is India. But it's a huge over-populated country that takes vast amounts of money just to maintain internal stability. China and Japan together hold onto half the US bonds and debt load, so it's unlikely either wants anything bad to happen to the American economy.

China does not support Iran's current regime. They see the country as a resource base and watch on the sidelines politically. Their concern is that a destabilizing war in the region will elevate oil prices which could contribute to the collapse of their already shaky economic advances.

Which goes to show, if we really did have highly effective alternate energy sources and we withheld them to the point of economic collapse, it should be considered a crime against humanity. That being said, if this technology does exist in the hands of the corporations of the world, my guess is they would wait and let the level of desperation increase so they can cash in on extreme demand. Sad to say but corporations run the world, and we have no one to blame but ourselves for their impunity to law.
