Ummmm where have you been.......Billy Ray Cyrus is one of the most influential people in his daughter's lives. In fact I don't think I've ever even seen his wife or Miley or Noah's mothers.

It's as simple as this:

If a man in his forties tried to put this on the market he'd called a paedophile and charged.

Here in Canada we have a lingerie chain called La Senza, they recently opened a spin off store...La Senza Girl. This is not a store for dress up, it's marketing lingerie for kids.

Sick.

I don't know what the big deal is... Is it the word "lingerie"? Because these are just frilly, ruffled dresses for little girls, perfectly acceptable in public. By the way, this company has been around for 5 years.

Ooh! La, La! Couture

It must be the word Lingerie that's got everyone's panties in a twist (excuse the pun).

lingerie as in sexy nighties and such. it reminded me of walking through the lingerie section of a dept. store...with tiny, sheer dresses. its common theory that less is more, less skin-less fabric. and those are both going on here, these outfits are incredibly suggestive.
those PICTURES are suggestive, its a centimeter short of kiddy porn.

what outrages me is not necessarily the product but how they are marketing this child. is there sexual abuse going on in the home, i mean, these outfits and the sexual way she acts, wow. disgusting. disturbing.

im not sure if thats what he means, but to clarify my point, i said anyone that can find an image of a child, whatever it may be wearing as sexual should stop for a second and think about what they are thinking... as thinking any picture of a child as having sexual connotations is wrong as they are just children

That is the point!

If lingerie on a dog is not sexy, and lingerie on a mailbox is not sexy, then lingerie is not the problem, and lingerie on a child should not be sexy either!

(Lingerie on the floor is sexy! But, only because of the mental images it conjures.)

Are naked children sexy? I have never, ever, not once seen a naked 9 year old and thought of sex. So, why should a 9 year old in lingerie be sexy?

The term "lingerie" seems to be the sticking point here, because the consumers in the US have been brainwashed into thinking lingerie = sex! If someone beat you half to death with a G-string, about you would start to equate lingerie with violence, and 9 year olds in lingerie would suddenly be frightening!

For the record:

1. Women's underwear.
2. Archaic. Linen articles, especially garments.
[French, from Old French, from linge, linen, from Latin līneus, made of linen, from līnum, flax.]

women's underwear and nightclothes
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

(län'zhə-rā', län'zhə-rē, lăN-zhə-rē') A general, broad term for women's under-clothing or night wear.
ruthcollis.com/fashion_terms.htm

There is the distinction of "exotic lingerie" or "sensual lingerie" and in that case, it shouldn't go on a 9 year old. I have actually seen a thong strap rising out of the pants of a little girl, and I was a little sickened! Why would a little girl where an uncomfortable thong? Otherwise, this is just a marketing ploy from both ends, they want to sell lingerie, and they want to sell their "news" story.

This is OUTRAGEOUS!!!

Putting children on display in skimpy clothing will turn all of you into PEDOPHILES!!!

Next thing you know, we will be allowing children to wear bathing suits at pools and beaches... er, oh, wait...

Here is a better a idea:

Instead of worrying about what everyone else is doing like the wonderful socialist you are acting like. Worry about your own children.

What Billy Ray Cyrus decides with his children is his decision not yours.

And who cares about celebrities anyway?

this is wrong in so many way`s! i wont start to give my opinion.

in the Netherlands we have a new law that helps preventing people to watch and look for pedophile images, there is no accidentally stumbling on these website for "several" times, over and over again.

a website promoting this product will be high on that list.

you will get caught in the long run!
and different than in USA, we don`t lock em up and throw away the key.
we try and workout what the problem is, if someone cant be helped that will lead to closed institutions for its life!

If this is what some of you consider proper clothing for pre-pub girls, I'm glad my childrearing days are over. My kids would just have to be nerds and like it!

That store has been open a long time.

And it doesn't sell little lacy bustiers for children.

It sells pants, shorts, tee-shirts and dresses for children.

Stop here. This should warn you of bias.

When they live in a step-family, they still live with both genders generally.

Half of those children live with their biological or original guardian parents.

The Canadian Encyclopedia in an article about Marriage and Divorce states that 1/4 families with children are headed by one parent. That's 25% not "most."

(Statistics in Western First World nations are all rough similar to each other)

Ad Hominem.

The profiler doesn't look at people and think about how they remind him of how he likes seeing a corpse flayed.

I guess every FBI profiler who can get into the mind of a serial killer are they themselves a serial killer? Your argument is petty and completely foolish. Not to mention completely insulting.

Most of the pictures in the main article are not photos of Noah and Emily promoting that clothing line. I know for a fact I saw the one of the girls around the stripper pole over half a year ago (if not a year ago). It doesn't make it any better in my mind, but I think some people are thinking that those photos are from a promotional shoot or something.

I looked at the website for that clothing company, and I have to say that most of those clothes didn't look that bad. But then I remember that most of the skirts probably won't even cover their bum and are therefore more appropriate for a 19 year old, not a 9 year old. The mere idea that kids can't be kids is just crazy to me. I don't understand why parents let their children wear clothing that is meant for someone twice their age.

And come on, the name "Cyrus" is mentioned. I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I hear about any of them (the parents or the kids), my eyes immediately roll.

I seriously doubt if Walt Disney would turn in his grave to wake up, he will probably sigh a sigh of accomplishment. He was not as innocent as you might think. The deception goes as far back and even further back as Walt Disney and his productions.

If you are into reading about conspiracy theories, this might be the piece that gets your hair on standing straight on your neck. A lot of people might be familiar with Fritz Springmeyer's writings, but for you haven't read anything on his theories, this is a chance to find some of it without paying for it.

The quicker people realize what propaganda is going on on their big screens, especially those with kids, the better.

It's a long read, but your whole perception will be altered forever.

The skill of lying, the art of deceit. One of the greatest deceptions of all time. Disney – By Fritz Springmeyer.

Wow. You know it's kinda sad that even somebody as young as myself (only 23) is able to look at the newest generation of kids and already be saying "I can't believe they're wearing that". Call me a prude if you want, but it's just effin rediculous that any society is able to ridicule sex with minors, and in the same breath defend the "de-clothe the children" movement that is sweeping through society. At the mall near my home, there is a store called Libby Lou (I think that's the name, it's a store for little girls) and sometimes they have a couple 8-9ish year old girls drenched in makeup wearing that same crap, modeling to get people to come into the store. They're hardly even wearing shorts. It makes me want to puke.

At nine years old I was wearing a freakin blue GI Joe sweatshirt with matching blue sweatpants. But they were dirty, because I had been out playing in them instead of trying to look sexy. Granted I am a male, but female classmates were wearing jeans and t-shirts, and were into things like gymnastics and drawing, not flashing people. GD I feel old.

All in all, this is indicative of another step back for society. This just makes it that much easier for young women to become self-conscious at a younger age, and grow up even more depressed and unhappy with their image. Good time to invest in the plastic surgery market

Not the brightest bulbs on the Christmas Tree. Cyrus is a doofus. I don't let my children watch that show anymore because they get so snotty when copying their attitudes.

I'm not sure my main concern is pedo related, there are already ways and means in place to deal with that stuff (kinda).

My concern here isn't that pedophiles might be attracted to this but that 9 year old boys and nine year old girls will eventually become part of the sexual tapestry (within their peer groups) - and it will become accepted and normal - one day - there is no time limit, just "progress".

I can't help but be reminded of one of the premises from "Brave New World".
This (and situations like this) appear to be part of a continued sexualising of younger and younger people.
What the effects will be on coming generations and their relationships who can tell exactly but I'm not convinced it's a winning strategy.

*edit*
...and I'm not confident that we know everything about Walt Disney either.
