Mag 8.6 earthquake in China?--2010-27-01

There's posts on Twitter about it being a malfunction.

If there was an 8.6 wouldn't it have been felt by other sensors too?

May I possibly get a city name?

My business partner lives in Shenzhen and I have colleagues all around China. I can assure you there was no earthquake over there.

Looks like nothing happened, which is great. I would hate to see what may have been if it was true.

Mistakes can and do happen.

Well, it says mb=8.6mb.

We're getting confused between Richter scale and mb which is the body-wave magnitude typically recorded for earthquakes occurring more than 2000 km away from the recording station.

Above a magnitude of 6 on the Richter scale, mb does not increase at it gets 'saturated'.

So I haven't the faintest idea as to why or how the mb shows up as 8.6 on the charts. This by the way is NOT the Richter scale mag!

It would have been felt by all sensors in the world and affected them for several hours at least. But nothing has been seen anywhere so far on any public seismometer.
I'm amazed people are still discussing this. It's just impossible to hide/cover-up earthquakes this large!

Sorry to say this like this but... this is proven to be false now (I have included links already showing so).

It may have been some sort of testing, we do not know.

But the thread title is misleading now since we know the truth that there was no earthquake. Can be get this moved to [HOAX]? Sorry not saying it was deliberate by the OP, not saying that at all. Just hoping we can at the least get the thread name changed too "[FALSE FLAG]" in the title or something at least?

Theres nothing on firefox "equake alert" which I use,and find to be reliable.
If this had happened,our MSM would be all over it as they love ramming china down our necks at the slightest opportunity.
This type of event could not and would not be hidden IMO.

A nuke test that registered 8.6 would surley also be mentioned,but blamed on a quake I think.

I wonder if HAARP had anything to do with it. It would be far enough out of sight that no cameras would pick up ionospheric anomalies unlike the last major Chinese earthquake where ionospheric anomalies that looked like northern lights where recorded on camera or in Indonesia when the tsunami hit after that major quake in the ocean. Just thought I would put that out and see what comes back.

Someone posted this link to the earthquake early in this post and this seems to be a credible organization...HOWEVER, the data this website is posting is that another EarthQuake was registered at 9.3 on the richter scale in the same local! (see bold and underlined info)

Have you not read the previous threads? it says 8.6 & 9.3 MB not Magnitude. This has already been disproved, why on earth are people still coming up with theories? this is the first time i've posted on the thread, because after looking at it this morning and there being NO WORD on any really credible sites, it was obvioulsy not real. Quit with the haarp theories & freak outs.

So what would 9.3mb be in comparison to Magnitude then?
