somebody on another conspiracy site just quoted this usgs link:

According to that link, that would definitely be a "8"...

Edit because I said "9" -- however, I was looking at the line below the line I was supposed to be looking at... I used to be good at tracing.

What's weird is if you click on the MAG>6 link on the red puma page:

www.seismo.ethz.ch...

It does not show the 8.6. Only on the global page. Faulty sensor/error?

EDIT: Also, isn't 0.3N 0.5E off the coast of Africa not China???

it sounds like a hoax because out of the billions of people in china people would have called and reported this to all kinds of different countries. if it is under wraps this long then any doubt that people secretly rule this planet are out the window.

There is this disclaimer at the top of the page: "NOTE: automatic locations are fast, but often not accurate and sometimes completely false!"

www.infp.ro...

site has the quake listed at 6:51 PM UTC even though the running clock in the upper right says it is 15:07 UTC (3:07 PM)

has to be wrong.

I am a bit confused about all of this, but I am inclined to believe it is not altogether factual without a bit more scientific evidence. or at least SOMETHING in the media.

Sorry to be durh, but is that UK time? If not what was UK time?

Reason I ask is that I have a MiLife Wrist Monitor that measures movements in g's and it went crazy, way off the chart.

Wondered if the times matched?

It is in UTC. My whole point was though, is that the earthquake is listed as happening 3 hours AFTER what time it is currently, in the same timezone.

But then, its saying the philipine 6.1 happened 3 hours in the future also, which rather destroyed any credibility the website has in my eyes.

Following the link in the OP, at the top you will see a link that says Magnitude>6

www.seismo.ethz.ch...

It shows NO quake in China.

Then it was changed, I will upload the pictures showing the 8.6!

No need, it is still there.

Only shows on the "Global" list, not the "Mag >=6" list.

Still unconfirmed, and most likely a bad sensor. I don't see a 8.6 quake going unreported this long by every other major and confirmable quake tracking site.

No need to upload it. I think we all saw what you referenced in the OP. I am saying that if you follow the link in your OP. Then look at the very top/left of the page. It says Magnitude>6. Now, when you click on the Magnitude>6 it takes you to a page that lists all >6 earthquakes....and the 8.6 is not listed. So, there is conflicting info. within that source....thus leading me to believe that it was a simple error.

already posted several times. That website also lists it as happening in the future according to their time reference.

Is it possible that the word "Earthquake" could have been misinterpreted?

I saw something once in an Asian Market that said "Lucky Best Enema"...

How lucky are you REALLY if you are getting an enema?!?

I dont know much about all this seismic stuff but i find it strange in the current climate of things, haiti and obam's speech and the recent blue light in the sky that this just happens smack bang in the middle. Could it be more pressure on our weak souls....?

Time will tell i guess but this is strange, i dont know what happend but it is obvious something did and even if it was an accident why has no one admited it yet?

these web pages are still showing point 8's so whats the deal?

IF this quake did occur, then what area would likely be affected by a Tsunami? Not in China, but in the US? Is the USGS possibly withholding info. on this to avoid mass panic on the West Coast of the US? Just a thought.

Why are you talking about tsunamis?
Tsunamis are produced by disturbances under the ocean.

Sichuan, where this quake is said to have occurred, is nowhere near the ocean.

If this earthquake in China actually occurred in a heavily populated city then the death toll could make Haiti look like a paper cut. The destructive force of such a earthquake would have been devastating to those that survived the earthquake. The power displaced is horrendous and the damage would likewise be horrendous.

Let's hope the MSM begins coverage of this earthquake sometime soon and that this is not a prelude to some military action about to take place somewhere in the world. The death toll could be in the millions. We will have to wait to see what transpires but I hope its not a factual story because earthquakes of that magnitude are too big to escape damage and happen so fast that the initial shock wave must have killed many in the blink of an eye because it happened so quickly and with so much devastating power.
