Learn to THINK! I was saying this guy was a damn MAJOR of 30+ years. He wasn't some piece of crap. I bet you would have called him your buddy if you would have served or worse yet if you were a soldier you'd have been saluting the guy. THAT WAS MY POINT! Now he goes and kills people he's your own worst enemy? Oh the irony! One day he's your best friend and brother in arms and the next enemy #1.

Yes. That's how it works.
You murder someone/s and you become an enemy, regardless if you were once a "friend"...
Doesn't matter who "he" was prior to that...

Yeah I was thinking it was a little quick too. Probably just as some preemptive damage control due to the names and possible religion of the suspects and the shooter.

FoxNews: The two suspects that were first arrested have been released as the search continues for the actual second suspect.

Oh! Sorry, that's the problem with online communication you know! All the nuances are lost. Sorry for that!

I hope that this tragic event does not motivate "War" in anyway. I wonder how much of this story gets turned around? Just saying...

Yes but that was not on a military base. Obviously it takes reaction time to get to your weapons, but the guy was taking out cops and SWAT Team members. People in armor. People that were armed.

I'm sorry, but this is in no way possible.

If a significant percentage of the victims were police/swat members or MPs, I agree completely. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure the regular troops on base are not allowed to carry firearms except for training purposes and that they are locked away in the armory any other time.

At least 4 SWAT members wounded. At least one police officer killed.

42 total.

Not to mention the swift change of story fro, "high powered sniper rifle" to "two handguns"

THAT'S MY POINT! LOL. Geez people. You don't know WHO your friends or foes are. Just because some guy wears the uniform doesn't mean crap. It doesn't make someone more American, tougher, stronger, yadda yadda.....contrary to what the "America f' yeah crowd" seems to think. Just because you put on a uniform and follow orders does not make you extraordinary.

Maj. Hasan was licensed psychiatrist from Maryland who has just "converted" to Muslim.

All religions are bad. Religion turn people mind more or less fundamental.
This statement is not related to this shooting, its purely my humble opinion about what religions do to human mind.

Saw and posted that earlier.

Now, if it was just one guy - even with a muslim name - they might be able to say he was just some nutcase and the name means nothing.

However, if the other two are also converts to islam, then IMO TSHTF.

Wonder if this is what was "predicted" by the Timewave Project that said something key would happen on around 10/26/2009? What if that's when this was planned?

You are exactly right, but you have to understand the culture behind those in the millitary, and you have to accept the fact that many of them are not playing with a full deck and throw logic out the window. I mean seriously, I'd never sign up and risk my life for $2,000 - $4,000 a month while some cigar smoking, whisky burping oil tycoon makes BILLIONS.

Look at today's date. Remember, remember, the 5th of November.

I forget who was saying that this was hard on our troops, that we should just reinstate the draft and go over there, win, and be done with it, but I just wanted to say that would be no way to secure a pipeline, would it? You gotta keep troops over there as bloody as it is, to make sure that someone can secure that pipeline and rebuild it as needed.
My feeling is that no one wants to win, except the hard working foot soldiers on the ground. Ground troops need good support from above, and I don't mean air support.

I think it's important not to jump to conclusions about the assailants' religions.

Noting the Arabic nature of the gunman’s name, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington interest group, condemned “this cowardly attack in the strongest terms possible and ask that the perpetrators be punished to the full extent of the law.”

”No political or religious ideology could ever justify or excuse such wanton and indiscriminate violence,” the council said in a statement. “The attack was particularly heinous in that it targeted the all-volunteer army that protects our nation. American Muslims stand with our fellow citizens in offering both prayers for the victims and sincere condolences to the families of those killed or injured.”

www.msnbc.msn.com...

We also know from the story:

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, R-Texas, said military officials told her that the gunman was about to be deployed to Iraq and was “upset about it.”

It was unclear why the two other soldiers were taken into custody.

A senior administration official told NBC News that the shootings could have been a criminal matter rather than a terrorism-related attack and that there was no intelligence to suggest a plot against Fort Hood.

So - terrorism plot: Unlikely
Has to do with Muslims: Unlikely

Has to do with a deranged officer who didn't want to be deployed to Iraq: Very Possible. We still don't know what the guy's political beliefs were; how vocal he was about opposing or supporting the Iraq war; etc.

Centurion, for every attack by a Muslim, it's always blown off as a "freak event."

I guarantee you, had he recently converted to Buddism, none of this would have happened.

Maybe I'm just a little thick. Could you give me a scenario on how they would use this to escalate anything? If it turns out they all were indeed Muslim converts, I would just see this as a reason to justify sending in those extra 44,000 troops to Afghanistan. Could there be something else?

My point was one day you're calling someone like Major Nassad your brother and sister and the next he's a piece of crap?

Yep. All it takes is killing 12 Soldiers and wounding another 31 to turn my opinion of someone around.

hy does the US military even allow muslims to serve? THAT WAS MY POINT GENIUS! # like this is going to keep happening and only get worse if you have muslims serving in the American military.......especially when we are waging war on Muslim countries.

Why's that, Genius? We're not at war with the religion of Islam, but at war with extremist that are using the religion for evil. I have worked with Muslim troops. Their religion never came into play (except when we tried to get one to admitting that he liked bacon.)

Hm. Yeah. Because Psychiatrists go all hell bent and commit mass murder all the time. It must be that he's a mental health worker, and the Islam thing is just a red herring.

You've obviously NEVER read the Koran and you obviously know NOTHING about Sharia law if you think the west, London, and the Vatican are not at war with Islam. Wow! You're naivety and ignorance on Islam is revealing. Manifest destiny in the eye of western culture and western governments is alive and well. It never died.

Fox is just outlining a few details about Fort Hood, i didn't realise it was that big. 33,000 there and the whole lot on lockdown.

All details need confirmation.
